  1. Tourney results.........Drum roll please...... 1st Place - Larry Staffeldt went 3-0 playing Outcast Jack Daw for all 3 rounds. He did not use the Rat Factory either. This was his first Games Plus tourney win. It has been a long time coming. He was awarded the 3 point Guilder Poker Chip, A $50 Games Plus Gift Certificate and the Kaeris orange day-glow box set. 2nd Place - Duncan Bilz went 3-0 playing Ten Thunder Shen Long, he may have also played Misaki for one round. This was the second time he made the trip up from Indiana and the second time he finished in 2nd place. Conspiracy? He was awarded the 1 point Guilder Poker Chip, A $30 Games Plus Gift Certificate and a special edition Bayou Grmelin from the mystery box. 3rd Place - Joe Deheve went 2-1 playing Neverborn Dreamer and Lilith for one round. His only loss was to Larry. He was awarded the 1 point Guilder Poker Chip, A $20 Games Plus Gift Certificate and a special edition Bayou Grmelin from the mystery box. Two Bayou Gremlins from the mystery boxes? Boooooo An honorbale mention goes out to Jeb who finised in 4th place by one point differential to Joe. Jeb played Ten Thunder Shen Long. 11 other players were awarded the 1 point Guilder Poker Chip. There were also 6 prizes raffled off at the end to players who did not finish 1st through 3rd. We ended up with a very nice showing of 14 players. There were a few no shows and a few who cancelled the day before. I will hit that magical 20 players someday!!! Thanks to everyone who took the time out of their day to attend the event. Special thanks to those who made a long drive. I hope everyone had fun. See you guys at the next one in July!!! Pictures to follow...........
  2. Kudos to you Joe for dropping the Outcast/Rat Factory crutch
  3. Several of us will be at Games Plus tomorrow night from 5:30pm - 10pm. Drop by and get a practice game in before the event this weekend if you have the time. I would be more than happy to play a practice game with you and prep you for Saturday.
  4. I always suggest beginners (as long as you have a decent grasp of the rules) attend my local events. The experience you will gain after playing 3 games in a day is invaluable. We have a very friendly community who will advise you through out the game. Everyone has a chance to win prizes as there will be items raffled at the end as well as prizes for 1st through 3rd. Players who finish 1st through 3rd are not eligible for the raffle prizes. I look forward to meeting you on Saturday We also meet up every Tuesday evening at Games Plus.
  5. I dont have a facebook page event but there is one that I can have the event linked to. I am one of the rare people in this world that is not on facebook.
  6. If something is going on in the world that you cannot attend for various reasons you are not being excluded. You not having the time to attend something is what excludes you. You not having transportation or a game store near you, etc is not the events fault, Wyrd's or anyone else for that matter. If the event organizer told you that you are not allowed to attend the event THEN you have been excluded. You are more than welcome to make the time or over come whatever the obstacles that are keeping you from attending. If real life is just too busy for you then it is your life and the way its structured for you that excludes you. In my area people drive 2-3 hours to attend events. They car pool, they also take multiple buses and trains to be at the event. They have wives/husbands and children and work, etc. They do the best they can to make the time in their busy real lives to show up and support the events. Supporting the events helps Wyrd, the Game Store and the Malifaux community as a whole. Sometimes even the players who regularly support the events cant make them and thats ok too. I don't feel its too much to have a few "special" models available for those who make the effort to take 10-12 hours (travel time and 7 to 8 hours for a 3 round event) out of their weekend to support an event. For those that can never attend an event for the forseeable future you can always try to trade for the models or buy them outright from the players who have them. Even if its at a higher cost, you didnt spend 10-12 hours on a weekend to try and obtain that "special" model. Or spending maybe 50-60 hours over the course of many weekends amassing the Guilder poker chips needed to redeem to get the model they want if they were not lucky enough to get it from a mystery box. My Malifaux community is very excited about the Guilder poker chips and the possibility to work towards getting something exclusive. If Wyrd does something else or makes it less exclusive then that's their decision and is fine as well. I am really excited about the Pandora sculpt! Whether I ever get it for myself or not I would never begrudge someone else who got a hold of it by whatever means; won it, earned it, bought it, etc.

  8. Thanks to everyone who set aside a huge chunk of their Saturday participating in this 4 round event. The majority of the games were real close and we even had a few tie games. We also had every single faction represented at the tournament. Yes even Ten Thunders!! lol The results: 1st Place - Victor Szafranski 4-0-0 Gremlins 2nd Place - Joe Deheve 3-1-0 Outcast 3rd Place - John Hartigan 2-1-1 Neverborn We had some incredible turns by players at the event. John Hartigan facing Kevin from South Bend, Lilith vs. Perdita. It was close deployment and Perdita with her pumped up DF 9 had just killed several of John's Nephilim. Lilith armed with two 13's and the Red Joker dropped her two terrain markers and charged through them to Perdita after using her zero action for +1 damage. Lilith's 3 strikes removed Perdita from the table on turn 1. John also had Nekima on the table as well. I walked away thinking John had that one in the bag only to find out Kevin pulled out a 1 point victory giving John his only defeat of the day. Kudos to Kevin for fighting it out to the bitter end after losing his Master turn 1. Good damage flips from his Austringers lead him to victory. My next event will be in June or July. Watch for it!!
  9. Holy cow you bad mouthed Seamus AND stole my tie breaker format? curse you lol

  13. Have fun guys. Sorry for missing this one. Hopefully I will see you guys at Games Plus on March 19th for the Adepticon Primer.
  14. Yes, both players score on a tie. GG2016 Show of Force; If this Crew has at least one qualifying Upgrade and has a number of qualifying Upgrades equal to or exceeding the opposing Crew’s number of qualifying Upgrades, this crew scores 1VP.
  15. This Page 9: In some situations, the Organizer may wish to determine the Scheme Pool for each round in advance. The Gaining Grounds rules provides discretion concerning scheme selection If a T.O. is running an event using a single master system. If the T.O. feels there is a scheme or two that could be harsh against a single master format they are more than welcome not to select those schemes when determining the pools for each round. They do not have to select their schemes randomly for their event.
