Simple and Cheap:
High Heat super glue and red ink...
Use the glue straight out of the gun and put a few drops of glue down. Let those dry and then lay it all on thick. I'll do one up tonight and post it so you can see what it looks like...

Totally twisted... I approve!
Can't wait to see Stilty all painted up...
-
Going to steal the soul stone bag idea for something else I'm working on! I love the Zoraida-esque Bayou shack...
-
This is the most amazing SDE I've seen yet. Of course I'd not expect anything but amazing coming from your brush...
-
Sooooo... anyways, wish me luck! If I make it, I will certainly produce some disturbing miniature ideas while in my post surgery drug haze (There is an upside to everything! Am I right?)
Best wishes on a speedy recovery, I'll light a candle with your name on it...

I love your Collette... Very steampunk... I'm nearly giddy waiting for the others to be painted...

Oh I like... It's like the Willaim Wallace of Smurfs.
YOU CAN TAKE OUR SMURFBERRIES, BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE OUR FREEDOM.
Ratty, you just gave me an idea...

Been a bit, was sickly, had another project (SDE board) and of course Turkey Day travel and such.
Here is a tease of the LCB, now with "smurfy" color...

I tried Red and Black for him, but that combo sucked. It made him look like a Tyranid and that was not the flavor I wanted...

Just to avoid confusion. They are 9in Sq. They come in packs to make like 3ft by just shy of 4ft
Yeah they are a little smaller than the GW, I honestly just noticed it. We got the painted versions that were made available to store owners at GenCon (:::Waves at Gianfranco if he's seeing this::
If you make your own why not go a little bigger? That way your 9 1 foot sections can be configured to give you a massive amount of variation, and you can keep it in the standard 3 X 3 or 9 sq ft standard... change it up to fit whatcha want/need.
It's really your preference. I prefer to play on terrain made by folks, so that they know I appreciate their time and effort. And I prefer to play on things that I've made, but the ExIllis boards are not bad for the price...

Simply put... this is stunning!

It's actually a little odd sized, it's a 2X3 (ish). The layout is intentionally odd.
I'll do some better shots to show you the spawn points and such.
Basically the models enter from the left center, and with the open wall design left forward the DM can generate Voles to shoot at the heroes, encouraging them to move into the storage area in upper left, they then can choose 2 paths, that will lead them to the other areas. The porpuse of SDE is the destroy the spawning crystals, and gather treasure chests scattered throughout the game area.
So the will move where ever the crystals and treasure are...

Love the cherub and love Bete. The wings and her dress are outstanding. The rest are great too, but those are my favorites from the bunch!

The plastic boards are pretty cool, they are a lot like the GW Battle Board pieces. They are about a foot square and you can put just about any terrain you want on them.
They do have some odd slopes here and there, and they come unpainted.
If you have the disposable income they are a better buy than the GW ones, but if you want something similar, you can get a whole board of pink stuff and cut it into 1 foot squares and pretty much make your own in a weekend...

I believe I'm genetically predisposed to loving the Teddy model. There is very little done with it that I don't LOVE. This is no exception, I can't wait to see this painted....
-
Loving the bases... I can't wait to see them populated!
-
These make me want to dig into my opened Ophelia crew... I really love the paint and the bases are spot on for them.

we used a synthetic plaster, its cheaper then resin, doenst destroys your mold, and i can get it in large quantities delivered to my door for free
its pretty strong, if you get the mixture right
What's the name of it? I am always looking for cheaper options... Smooth-on is up to $81 now, plus shipping.
-
Awesome job.
Where did you took all those barrels sand bags etc.? I would like to add some to my sceneries but they are kind of expensive when bought in small package.
Those are Hirst Arts molds. I've been doing a ton of them for a project our LGS needed help with (Super Dungeon Explore three story building nightmare... )...
Cavern Accessory Mold #85 http://www.hirstarts.com/molds/moldsgoth.html
Not sure what medium they used... I use Smooth-on 300.
EDIT: Yazza beat me to it...

Super cool, how did you make the glowing effect of the eyes?
Liquid Phosphorescent pigment. It's a liquid additive that is commercially available, and you can add it to the paints that you use....

I had always wondered what happened to Spudz McKinsey... now I know... he found his way to Malifaux...
-
I'm loving the Bete, the pink Whale Bone Corset was a great touch!

It's simply a high heat (elcheapo) hot glue gun with multipurpose glue sticks, drizzled over a dowel rod glued to two 20 oz cups.
Then I looked through all the drizzles and found the parts that I liked... Terribly easy!
