  1. Very cool. How did you do the base on Grumpy?

It's just the first layer in that photo, but it's Scenic's Waterfall Effects pulled out with a toothpick on top of a tie dye of blue and white paints.

I'm layering it up to look like he's going all super saiyan and powering up. It's milky in that photo (takes forever to dry out in the Carolinas) but the effect dries clear. Once that sets I'll try to get you some extra photos of the effect.

  2. Absolutely fantastic! Now you just need to find someone who'll will play you in a 65pt brawl. ;)

I'm doing my best to get some Charlotte Natives into the game. I have 5 armies available, but I'm having a little trouble stirring up players in the Charlotte NC Area...

I'll get 'em though, and then someone will face Carebear fury.... ;)

  3. It's a cool idea and well executed. It's easy to recognize them as what they are supposed to be, and they look lovely together. There are two little things I have to criticize, though: You could try to drybrush a little bit more careful. For example the blue one could profit a bit more from a little more careful brushing. Try a thin brush of a lighter blue perhaps. And if it is too bright, use several light coats of ink to darken it, and with the same step, darken the shadows.

The second thing is the blood. Blood is extremely hard to do to look well. If you want to do blood again, I recommend experimenting with Tamiya clear read with a little black in it. It gives an extremely real look, and can even be used for clotted blood etc.

But, as I said, I really like them, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, I've only been painting a short while (off and on for a year or so), so any hints help...

  4. I fell in love with Wyrd mini's at GenCon this year... I bought enough models to end up with 4 nurses... ;)

One model caused an obsession to stir in me.

    Teddy.

Maybe it is because I'm a child of the eighties, maybe it's because of some personal psychosis, but I can't seem to stop painting them like Care Bears.

First shot is a shot of them all together, and the second/third are Sleepytime bear.

This is my first mini posting here, so please let me know what y'all think.
