  1. So, primarily because I think its hillarious, I'm curious if anyone has given the pig-a-pult a try through proxies. How did it perform? What did you use with it? Did it actually work?

    It seems one good way to operate it would be to field the thing with a pair of taxidermists, one to dig up a corpse counter and the other to animate it as a stuffed pig for ammo every turn.Any other thoughts?

Practically speaking, as soon as they put out the RPG there would be threads the next day for how they could bend/break it so someone could play as a cross faction/neverborn, just because we're geeks and we seem compulsively unable to be happy with anything we're given. That said, the idea of a group that comes through the breech and finds their own way to a faction of their choosing sounds like the best way to start a campaign. And Savage Worlds is probably the best fit from things I've seen/played thus far, but that's mostly because Savage Worlds is pretty much designed to fit with most settings, and a Wild West one especially.

  3. Not super familiar with Leveticus beyond a few games I've played with a friend's crew. My main thing I realized from the game is that you probably need to play kind of quick if the TOs are timing the rounds. My friend's not the fastest player anyways, but when the first hour rolls past and we're routinely not past turn 3, it's an indication that this isn't going well.

    The main thing would be know the crew inside and out, learn the tricks, and if you leave your hollow waifs even-quasi exposed, expect the alpha strike to find some way to get them down. It's what they're going to probably be looking for from turn 1.

  4. Right, At the first Gencon tourney way back a when there was a table where someone totally wiped out the other player. But when they scored the game it was clear that the person wiped of the table still completed more of there objectives, thus scored more VP and won the game.

    Honestly its one of my favorite aspects of the game and one I often bring up when people complain a certain combo is unbeatable. You win by scoring VP and half of the objectives you pick to score you choose youself. Remember that and the game becomes a lot easier

    Just to pile on with more examples, I was playing a 3-way game where one of the opponents was running Nicodem and, through a combination of bad decisions and luck, ended up getting his Nicodem killed 2nd turn of the game. Compound that with his mindless zombies being inexplicably lucky and managing to stop Killjoy from walking away from them for two rounds, leaving him worthless, and it should have been no-contest on who won. Even still, through completing his schemes and partially completing his objective through his minions, he managed to creep back to 2nd place in the game, despite his crew being essentially crippled nearly the entire game.

  5. We're looking to get a Malifaux community built up from the numerous interested-but-disconnected individuals scattered throughout Lincoln. Therefore, we're kicking things off with an open play/demo session on Sunday, May 15th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The even will be held at Gauntlet Games, 3231 South 13th Street, and all interested Malifaux players are welcome and encouraged to attend. Unpainted minis? Proxies? Bring 'em down! We're trying to get an idea of who's interested and start putting together a Malifaux gaming community in the area.

  6. First thing I thought of upon seeing Stitched Together was to use it as mobile cover for the assault units of the LCB/Dreamer's army. AKA, when you drop your teddies or S&M Nephilim, put him in the middle of them to provide obscurement to all the others.

  7. I'd like a little more info on the Guild Hound. The awesome thing is that on the 'what models would you like to see' thread, I posted that I'd like a cheap Guild model - maybe an attack dog. It's almost like they listened to me.

    3 SSs a piece, but they refund you one for each pair of them you take. They sort of work in pairs like the canine remains. Get a lot of abilities when they start next to other models, get fast when they start next to another guild hound. Also they have a pulse ability that buries scrap and corpse counters within like 3" of them (don't have the book with me, that's what I remember.)

    I think they rock, and as you alluded to fills a nice gap in the army, cheap fodder units.
