  1. I just about always use superglue...i recently tried to use plastic cement on the seamus crew.... and tbh... i hated it.... took forever to finally grab...was an awful mess ... and just smells horrid.... admittedly i dont have alot of experience using plastic cement... but ive been able to accomplish everything up til this point with good old cyanoacrylate, and if needed some CA accelerant...

  2. to be new to painting, those all look really great!! sure you could stand to add a highlight more to the marshals coats... and their coffins... but those december models look really good...nice amount of color blend which is something i still struggle to get correct.

I particularly like the december bases...what kind of stones are the larger more opaque ones? i really like them!

I'd say you are well on your way to being very good at this hobby!

also i rather like the kneeling marshal without the coffin across his back.... just sayin...

  3. that guessing zero article was really good! I havnt had a chance to get a game in with pandora yet.. ( although my new pandora crew came in wednesday...damn they are gorgeous! good job over there wyrd!!!!) but i have already found some very useful insights here in this thread, so thank you to all commenting here with such!

  4. edonil, i was told they had come out with M2E and that it cleaned the rules up a bit and streamlined alot of things....so that was one reason... second was, I am freaking fed up with 40k.... its just stale to me now.... and i always liked malifaux...the setting is absolutely great and the models have always been good( and have gotten even better!)

So i figured it was a good time to come back to it.

Also, Victoria...sorry to hear about the craptasticness, whatever it may be...

  5. pandora always struck me as a city girl.... i like mine on cobblestone bases....

to expound on that secret weapon minis makes some superb cobblestone bases and also some nice "town square" bases which are more like flagstones....

not sure what the forum policy is on linking sites so I will refrain from doing so, but id check their site... and also i know Miniature Market sells their bases on their website( its a US based webstore)

  6. ok, thanks guys! i had read somewhere that henchmen got some perks( i seem to recall someone mentioned a limited edition mini of some sort) and while that is cool in its own right, im not gonna do this just for myself....well at least not overtly...

I dont think anyone would have a problem with a 5.00 dollar buy in or some such .. so i may go that route...

Now, to just apply for the henchman status.... i need to paint 2 crews .... with M2E out now.. what are some good demo crews... i have a feeling my Pandora and Co. may be a bad learning curve for a new player...

  7. looking for resources on exactly how to paint stockings/hose on female models...im looking at a collette crew and just cant tell the best way to paint them and make it look convincing....

well..silly me... please disregard this post, as i found i had asked the same question 3 years ago... shortly before i had to stop modeling for awhile.... and alot of people answered my question there. Amazing what you can forget in 3 years time....

also if a moderator would like to close/delete this post ... i will not object

  8. I was just interested in what kind of support is offered to a Henchman for their organized events? I know they are required 1 a month, but was unsure if Wyrd provided prize support for these types of things...i know some other major companies( no names mentioned ) have all but stopped the practice of prize support.

Im very interested in becoming a Wyrd Henchman for my local area and LGS as we have zero around us... but would like to go into it knowing exactly what im getting into.

Any advice or input on the matter would be, not only helpful, but also very much appreciated.

  9. yea was my understanding that a 15ss game would require a henchman only.... and all i have is candy for that.... looking through the new cards kade was a pretty sure bet just to have some physical "oomph" and a sorrow thrown in just for the shenanigans is a pretty good idea... any suggestions on upgrades for candy/kade? i should have 3 ss left over to buy upgrades..

  10. So as the title states, i am coming back to the game after a very long time away...

myself and a friend are wanting to start off small ( a 15stone shootout(?) and i only have a pandora box set and a few other models at my disposal...

can anyone offer any advice on what i should hire/general advice for someone coming back after so long... ( it was probably 3 years ago when i played last...)

  11. Ive simply had to shelve my pandora crew... its almost completely unplayable at this point if i take sorrows( which i did from an aesthetics pov).

While i dont mind having the time to learn a couple new masters pandora was the one that drew me to the game because of the way she worked on the board. now she doesnt.... its sad.

im with Karn on this a simple change of effect end time would solve all of this.

  12. I just got my Collette crew and am about to sit down and start painting them. Im a little confused how the painters at wyrd got the stocking over flesh effect. I tried it on a test model and all i got was a flesh and black splotchy mess. Any advice on technique or link to a tutorial would be appreciated and helpful as i want these models to look their absolute best.
