  1. Do Not be discouraged, the Viks are pretty competitive and can really bring the pain to much anyone. Some will say it's a simple Crew, and it most probably is, but that's pretty much one of its strenghts, and its learning curve is lesser than a lot of other Masters'.

Ronins, Freikorps, Convict Gunslinger, Sue, Misaki & the Ten Thunder Brothers... Even Hans and Jack Daw; any Mercenary model can work well on a Viktorias Crew.

  2. How do you convert the corps counter to blood? I know he can use them himself as a blood counter, but i didn't see any way to change it to a blood counter in the book?

You have to either cast Inyect Blood or Taint Blood, discarting a Corpse Counter as if it was a Blood one, and if you manage to have a second Mask on your Casting Total, then you can activate his Bloody Mess Trigger, which will net you a Blood Counter after succesfully casting the spell.

  3. I'm planning on going with:

    Lilith + Primordial Magic

    Nekima

    Black Blood Shaman

    3 Terror Tots

so I think I'll save this until I have try an absurd 8 terror tots list!

If you were interested on growing with that list, which is pretty much the only thing you can do with it, switch the BBS into 2 Desperate Mercenaries, and along with 2 extra SS on your Cache, you will pretty easily have 2 Young and 1 Mature Nephilim along with Nekima and Lilith before the first turn ends. Not the best for objective interacting, but interesting for some seek and destroy missions (Contain Power, Distract...)

  4. +1 for Nico with the above restrictions, but mostly because it's really another different style way far away from Ophelia's and Colette's.

For the Guild I would take either Sonnia if you want some pro and anti spellcasting stuff, and I would take Zoraida From the Neverborn as she is actually different From all other Masters, she's all about control (although some will say this is similar to Nicodem's).

  5. The masters are living, but counting on morale duels to be your main weapon is not a very good avenue to success, as even with aSeamus you can't get higher than an effective 19, and the lowest Wp the NB masters have is 6. Add in the ability to cheat and spend SS and you won't be causing an enemy master to run all that often

That's why I talked about Hangeds and Jack Daw. Most Neverborn want to be in melee as much as possible, and so does aSeamus. Manifest him in front of a bunch of models, and move Jack besides him, activating his no-cheat, no-SS aura. The chances that any model, including Masters, to win the Terror Duel with a straight flip are pretty low, and it doesn't really matter much that aSeamus is inside the aura too, as even if you fail on the dissengaging Strike, the model will still be fleeing away, losing its current and next activation.

There are a lot of living NB models, most Nephlim and Woes are btw, so building a terror bomb crew cannot be that awful idea as most might think if you are possibly going to fight Lilith or Pandora. Zoraida Crews usually have some too. Force their models as many Morale Duels as possible, and even if they somehow won them all, your opponent will be forced to burn his best Cards on them, Cards that won't be used against your models.

  6. I'm a Seamus addict, and I have played several times against all the Neverborn Masters but Dreamer (have played against him, but not with Ressers. Only lost once on a really close one against Lilith, but aside From that one and another draw against Pandora, Seamus has always been on the winning side.

In my experience, aSeamus is a must, as well as Hangeds and Jack Daw. My lists are mostly full of Belles (Doxy is my first summon), and Molly is hired about 75% of the time, even while I only do it cause it's soooo cute and charming!!!

Resilience and Terror is my game, forcing so many Morale Duels on my opponents that they will finally lose some, or at least they will have to waste their best cards on them instead on some other nastiness.

I refuse to hire Von Schill out of Viktorias and pure Korps Crews, so I have never tried him, but the Dead Rider is growing lately on me, as well as Nurses and Sue.

Remember that all NB Masters but Dreamer are Living, so they are susceptible to Morale, and that most NB Crews will be lacking magical Dg potential, so Jack Daw and Spirits are always great to fight them.

  7. I thought that she would come in handy against the Leveticus player at my gs. He generally takes a Canine Remains just to kill it turn 1 so that he has two Hollow Waifs on the table, but if I can pop her out and then flurry to kill both, he'll be in for a hurt :) Well at least that's the plan anyway.

Be aware that you cannot target more than one model with the 3 Strikes from Flurry, they all have to be directed to the same target.

  8. I think the key here is that Drawn to Metal states that the Friendly Construct in base contact has to announce a Move Action, and it is the Marionette who takes the Action, not Collodi itself. The Marionette is moving Collodi with it, it's not Collodi who moves the Marionette.

With that in mind, I think it would (thankfully) not work.

  9. I have already played twice the Sue + Nurse combo, and let me tell you that they are really worth the 13ss they cost. Specially the Nurse has really been great on my games lately.

Reactivating Seamus the turn he's Manifesting the Avatar is golden, and then you can keep buffing Sue for the rest of the game.

Ohh, and one more tip: an overdoped Desperate Mercenary (+2 Wk/Cg, +4 Cb, + to Damage Flips and Reactivate from the Nurse, and + to Hit, +3 to total Duels, and other ++ to Damage Flips from his own For My Family!) is really a force to be feared... And it costs 2ss!!!

  10. Omg, I made exactly the same! I field the Dark Emissary both as Hooded or Dead Rider. I magnetized the horse to the base for transporting issues, and also put a magnet on his right hand to swap the sword or lance as needed.

    It is a great model!

  11. Is it affected by terrain penalties? (difficult and hazardous)

Would it be damaged by Dg From hazardous terrain?

    What about Fire Pillars?

Its ruling says it will stop when it comes into contact with any model, but can you move it avoiding that contact?

Alternatively, what prevents it from moving?

Can an enemy model stop it even from behind?

    Thanks in advance

  12. Override Edict only lasts for the model's activation. Once it's buried, the model's activation ends. The Hoffman player has no further control over the model.

The Override Edict effect persists on the model, but that doesn't mean that the Hoffman player has control over it, since that's not what Override Edict says.

As soon as the Miner is buried, control reverts to its Controller.

+1. That's what makes the most sense to me...

  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think you can hire McTavish, the Student and a Desperate Merc on the same list, as those would be 3 mercenary models, and you can only hire 2, unless I'm missing something somewhere.

  14. Well, we had time for 2 games, both vs Lilith with a semi-growth list with Tuco and the Hooded Rider: I totally murdered them.

Misaki worked great, and the 2 10TT did fine, but the Ronin were superior both times. Defensive Stance is nice, but even with their nice Df 6, they have no other protection and 6 Wd is almost nothing when they draw the attention of the opponent.

Of course, they cost 5ss, they shouldn't be too spectacular anyway, but I'm still thinking what do they bring to the crew that for the same cost Ronins don't.
