The Gunslinger is a great option for the Viks, specially for his cost. I don't like the official model as well, but that didnt forbid me using him, as I just bought a beautiful mini to proxy it. My vik's Crew is female only, so I wouldn't have used the official anyway.
What I really wouldn't ever field is the Student of Conflict, the thing that I really dislike that model as well really adds, but I can't see the cost of 3ss for 2, maybe 3 times, buffing Fast to only one model, I just think it's too expensive for that. I would love to have another useful totem option for Outcasts, but looks like we'll have to wait at least until book 3 is released :puppy:

I only own 3 Crews, but this is my ranking on them:
1.- Friekorps. I'm falling in love with them; they're not the most stronger for sure, but I feel they are pretty balanced and flexible enough to face most oppponents.
2.- Seamus and his RedChappel Gang. Who can't love playing with undead hookers and a crazy pimp? They're pretty competitive too.
3.- The Viktorias. Those glass hammers got a few tricks and the wide number of mercs at their service give them plenty of tactical choices. One thing's for sure: they hit hard.
From the crews I've faced and had the most fun playing I'm sure Kirai is the nº1, so much that I'm considering buying it!!

The lack of magical weapons or offensive spells really hurted yesterday against Kirai. I got to the same conclussion of why Ancient Words were not considered magical, that would be ok fluff-wise, and I think it wouldn't really break anything, as the Librarian's primary role is not pretty offensive, so if she's attacking is not supporting the rest of the Crew, which she excels at.
Besides that, I'm loving my Friekorps. I really need some more games with them, specially to learn how to use the Trapper and Specialist well. They have been performing poorly for me, but I know it's been my fault 100%.
One thing that I just learned yesterday is that the Specialist is really really resistant in melee thanks to that :minus he inflicts on Wp6 or less enemies. Even while he's only on Df4, he could stand in front of the Ikiryo and one Oniryo for 2 turns (with some healing from the Librarian), until a Gaki came in and Absorved him whole...
The Librarian is a healing monster; Von Schill's +4Wp aura is godly, along with his great mobility and shooting. The Friekorpsmen are pretty good for their cost, and become great meat shields for protecting other more important pieces of your crew.
What I find confusing is the Trapper's Cb5 with the rifle and Cb6 with the Knife, but I guess it's ok game-balancing wise.
Anyway, can't wait for my next game with them, as Im really enjoying my 'Korps. Maybe I will start adding some mercenaries, specially when I face Kirai again

Don't forget to get some Fate Decks!!!!

What about the Librarian, Whatsicle?
In my first and only game with them I found her to be an impressive healer, but didnt really use her for much more than that. Well, I managed to once blast some models away with a well placed trigger, but once the action got to serious levels, there was only time for healing.

The best SoC I've seen so far!!
Good Job!

Here it's Taelor, a gorgeous model that I'm really enjoying painting. As with everything lately, I'm working with NMM (Non Metalic Metal) technics on her. The plan is to paint the Relic Hammer on bronze, although I don't know how will it end.
Still a WIP, but I'm liking what I'm seeing so far:
And here is my female version of the Convict Gunslinger. She doesn't really look too much Convict, but she's a Gunslinger for sure. I plan on painting her with a much more desertical scheme, with ochres and browns all around, but still ahve not decided it 100%.
That's it for now, waiting for your suggestions and critics

Hi folks!
Here is the painting log of my Viktorias' Crew.
Some three months ago I started painting my 3 Ronin, and it was supposed to just be the starting of the whole crew, but other proyects drew my attention and nothing more was done.
Now I've retaken them and I'm focused. I hope I can finish the whole Crew by the end of January (or at least that's my intention!!).
Ok, enough chatting. Here I will update this same post with the finished models as I keep painting them.
These are my finished Ronin:
Hope you like them. Comments and critism always welcomed!!

i don't see how she can complement Dougie at all really. He already ignores armor, the extra card you get must be discarded to activate her. He can already heal himself and other models if necessary. I can't justify a 9 point model that has DF 3 and 6 wd. I think she works fine in a Freikorp crew, but can't see what she brings to the table for a rezzer.
:ditto:

These are my early Christmas presents brought to me by Santa this morning, as I've been a really good boy (well, not that good, you know).
This friday will put the Friekorps in action, can't wait! As I already own most of the mercenaries cause the Viktorias were my second crew of choice, I know I will have some time either by going pure 'korp or within the Viks.
Misaki is for my Vikkies, and Jack Daw & the Hanged for everyone, but mostly for Seamus.
I'm happy today

Good job!

Wow!! Good job there, really great taking the time you spent on them into the measure (I need at least one whole week for a single mini!!). Now I demand pictures from each model alone!!!

If you really must paint a whole faction, I would go for the Outcast then, as you say the gremlins are already painted, what I don't know is know are you going to make it in time.... (slow painter here)

Hi there folks!
Looking for some new tricks and game tactics, I've bought the 2 Hanged and Jack Daw for some future fun with Seamus. I've been searching on the forums for some info about them all together, but other than Sandwich's fantastic Tactica, I haven't found much.
I think that Seamus, along with 1-2 Hanged and Jack could be a fearsome, but small, Crew to play with. The main problem I see is the expensive cost of them, that would inevitabily lead to being outnumbered almost everytime.
Of course the Terrifying would work wonders if not facing Undead, Construct or Inmune to Influence heavy Crews, but there is not much dmg this Crew could bring to the table outside of the .50 Flintlock.
On a 25ss game, I guess this could work:
Seamus (+2ss caché)
Jack Daw (10ss)
Hanged (8ss)
Rotten Belle (4ss)
Total SS Pool: 5ss
For 30ss:
Seamus (+2ss caché)
Jack Daw (10ss)
Hanged (8ss)
Hanged (8ss)
Copycat Killer (2ss)
Total SS Pool: 4ss
Here one Hanged could be swapped to Molly Squidpidge, but the dmg output of the Crew would drop too much, imo.
For 35ss one Rotten Belle and 1ss to the Pool would be what I'd do to round the Crew.
Anyway, I would like to hear experiences any other had with this kind of crews. I know Jack and the Hanged work better with Kirai, but I still like the theme with Seamus.
-
Auras and Pulses shouldn't go through walls, and specially not from one floor to another, imo. Blasts could break walls if they were strong enough, but still not affects more than one floor.
One problem I foresee is that with so many stairs up & down and room hiding, you could need a few more turns to start the action and get your objectives done.

Refloating this while waiting for my preordered Freikorps.
How's it been going for anyone who has been proxying them in the last weeks?
I know that I'm loving the Trappers, but as I have not played them already I'm not sure if they will be able to handle the attention they will draw, specially against fast crews like Marcus' and Lilith's. Would it be wise to field them infiltrated alone, or is it better to just run them close to the other Korps?
Also, the Librarian seems pretty solid; her healing and +Df spells look like will benefit greatly the crew, but what about her offense and other spells?
Specialist: is him a one-shot wonder? he has to be somewhat close to the enemy to start the fiery fun, and I guess that would be extremely risky for his own security, as the enemy is most probably going to tie him in combat in order to drop him fast or at least disallow him to use the flamethrower. Yeah he could always blow the tank then, but then he would become nearly useless; I plan on just blowing as a Slow to Die Action if there are some opponent models in range.
Freikorpsmen. Ok they're only 4ss each, so cannot ask for more, but how could them work best? My first tought was to have them deny Charges to other more important models, primarily shooting with their guns and not focusing on combat because of Flurry as they're not really damage dealers and could pretty much not stand against any other capable fighters.
And lastly Von Schill. What about him? I feel he should concentrate more on shooting with that excellent gun he's got, avoiding close combat, freely disengaging should it happen. He's got great mobility, and can really shine vs Undead Crews. He looks more like a support Master, which is ok for me, but I can't but feel he's lacking something, dunno what tho.
So, what is the general feeling with the Freikorps now that were're going to be able to play them more confortably with these great models?
-
Not if they have Comes Cheap which the Desperate Mecenary does.
Ouch!!! :embarasse
That will teach me to check the book before answering!!
-
Then to avoid confusion, just schedule a release date. Say, the first of every other month, that the new errata will be posted. There will be no surprises: we all know when the errata is coming. And there will be no more delay because of issues that arise during proofreading. They can be dealt with on the next update.
Then, in between updates, there will be no "official" rulings. Marshals can explain how the rules are written, or what the intent was if how they are written does not reflect that. But their job will be to educate and explain, not change the rules with their posts. ALL official rulings could be during the bi-monthly (tri-monthly?) updates. No extra errata thread, no searching to see if a marshal has ruled. Just one, solid document that gets an update at a scheduled time.
a BIG +1 for this. I think this is the way to go, and that would help greatly both the community and the game itself.
Also, Silence is not the best way to alleviate all this feelings within the community, and a brief, quick "Soon" is not exactly the level of communication I like to read. WS or any other from Wyrd's staff should come out and explain what's going on, and what is the reason of all this delaying, imho. Not that they must do it, they can do what they want what their business, but we wouldn't have been wasting all this time yelling for information and answers, and the frustration would have been lessened with a more fluid communication.

Here's my finished version of Taelor:
Got to say I've loved painting this one. I've done the metallic areas on NMM, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results, even while I'm really not good on it.
I've just noticed a few details that need to be fixed, and got to varnish the model, but I call it done. Now for the next one, the Convict Gunslinger.
Hope you like her.
