  1. Neverborn All Stars (models you will find handy regardless of which master you are playing):

Doppleganger, Mr. Graves, Nekima, Johan (not NB but super useful), Primordial Magic

    For Collodi Specifically:

Freikorp Trapper, Changelings, Lazarus, Rougarou, Beckoner, and any other strong Minion you like

  2. I'm the OP of one of those threads. I've paid attention to most of the times it has come up and the answer that my local Henches go with is that the Wisp is still the originator of the condition even if it "filtered" through the doll. So in most of my games we end up playing it as if both the doll and the Hemmed model must walk towards the Wisp. I am also eagerly awaiting an official FAQ on the subject, but just wanted to toss my two cents in.

    Thanks for this.

never realised it, but now I have a. Use for claw. Thorn and tooth can go on my Titania lists and claw can replace the illuminated on my dreamer lists.

do you guys think an autum knight can replace an illuminated and will be as thought as one of them?

You aren't going to see the same damage output from a Knight as an Illuminated, but they scheme better, have pulls, hand out slow with engagement. It's a trade off.

Why do you take Claw more often with Dreamer?

Empty Night on Dreamer. Allows him to target a minion or nightmare and on a specific trigger pushes the model and allows it to make a (1) Ml action. Claw has an 8" gun that operates off of the Ml stat, so Dreamer can push claw and then allow claw to chuck a spear for 1 ap.

Sorry, didn't mean to make it sound harsh, was just pressed for time. :)

I myself have tried them together a couple of times, and found them ... ok.

Not bad, but not quite as overwhelming as some others have found them to be. Still mean to try the combo with Lynch, seen as he makes the Gupps Leap much more reliable.

Same here. Lynch loves gupps, and Huggy is a good front line Obey-er to set off your Juveniles Wail kill chain. Ultimately too many moving pieces to be competitive, but fun to play and insane damage output if the Rube Goldberg aspect goes off

  6. Impossible/hard to Wound, Hard to Kill, Regen, Incorporeal, Armor, Black Blood, Curse of Autumn, Aionus' reverse incorporeal, WW's inhale terror to draw cards, Flight, Reckless, Martyr, Finish the Job (in a pinch), Misery (most obv.), Fresh Meat from Rougarou, Ruthless to ignore WP duels, think Candys auras can be copied, sure I missed a few

  7. It's important to note as well that Tangle Shadows is Ca5. Don't over rely on it, because it's too resource intensive to spam (requiring both a suit and a 9+ just to succeed).

i use it frequently, but it's a scalpel not a hammer. Save a good high mask or RJ from your obscene starting hand, wait as long as possible and try and drain high cards before you attempt to tangle. If they are wp6+ and your opponent knows what Tangle does they will blow that high card to stop you.

Tangle your own units where possible so you can relent and hopefully mitigate resources needed.

  8. As to more general advice I always run Beckon Malifaux and Wings of Darkness. If you have hand advantage she's hard to kill. Learning where to place your trees from Beckon Malifaux is an art form and the better you get the more you will understand, her trees make her a nightmare for LoS reliant opponents.

It works with any beater unit, but I encourage you to try the Nekima slingshot. Run something fast upfield, or wait for an enemy to overextend, then Tangle that unit with an unactivated Nekima. Now their activated unit is next to Lilith and they have to deal with a late turn Nekima charge. Used this yesterday and got a turn 1 dead Mech Rider for my troubles.

Between smart placement and her forests she shouldn't be getting many attacks she doesn't choose to take. Remember to use her Disapear trigger and Stanford the mask if you have a high card, stone to prevent went needed. Make sure to cozy your Nephilim up to the enemy for black blood.

i rarely take living blade or Wicked Mistress. When I do it's because I'm trying out a pounce list. Living blade gives a 3" engagement and +flips on attack, but I rarely find that worth it without purpose.

Never, EVER let Lilith stand next to a Stitched.... Bad memories

Thats quite nice so that she can use this to escape or move for a very long distance

And don't forget that the secondary place effect still happens even when she sends herself. So after Lilith places next to the target the target will then be placed next to Lilith. If your target is an enemy you could use this to place an enemy outside of a scoring zone, inside your scoring zone, into a charge lane for your beaters, etc. If your target is a friendly you can use this to set up a charge, place your unit that extra inch to score/disengage, move your unit out of LoS or around a corner.

In in the right situation it's amazing the impact that inch can have.

I think that they are OP for their cost but that is balanced by the fact that they boost models that are underpowered. Without the copy (2)Action thing Wisps are really great. With it they are too good IMO but the models that lend them the (2)Actions like the Spawn Mother really aren't good enough on their own and even Zoraida who is sorta OK without Wisps doesn't still eclipse, e.g., Collodi with the help of the Wisps.

For starter's I think its hilarious that a Gremlin player is telling ANYONE that their stuff is "OP for their cost".... looking at you here (for starter's) stuff piglets.

That being said, I also think he's right on the money. They are REALLY good, but they were almost universally meant to help flagging models do better. Almost every single 2 tactical action in the faction is on a model that most find underwhelming (Spawn Mother, Poltergeist, Zoraida, Kade, etc.). They are useful for anyone who throws out WP duels since they drop a scheme when an enemy fails. I think they are one of the best models Neverborn got in wave 4, they fix Zoraida and a whole host of other models while having utility and use for everyone else.

They also have no engagement range, and are super easy to kill. So I really don't see the "OP" problem. They are pure awesome.

Disengaging strike is an attack action so you are indeed wrong about the wording on that ability preventing him from taking disengaging strikes. However, he would be unable to take disengaging strikes while buried even if he got a :melee attack in a shifting loyalties campaign or something, because he is never engaged with another model while buried. He's neither within his :melee range of another model nor does he have LoS.

You explained it better than I did but same point. He's not technically engaging anything due to the nature of being buried. Thank you for explaining it better than me!

    2) No. The Bandersnatch cannot make Disengaging Strikes as it has no :meleeattacks (easy to miss!)

The answer is no, but not (just) for that reason. That might stop the Bandersnatch from making disengaging strikes when he's unburied, but when he's buried he would be unable to make disengaging strikes anyways, right? His ability allows him use the model he's inside to draw LoS and range for his attack actions, but if he's not using an AP to make an attack he's the same as any other buried model, unable to interact with the outside world unless another ability says otherwise. Am I wrong on that?

This could be important in campaign play if someone tried to equip the Bandersnatch with equipment that gave it :meleeattacks.

  13. Pandora and Collodi are next up on the chopping block to throw against Gremlins for sure.

Honestly perhaps my issues is target priority. I don't know which models are the most important to kill. Everything seems to have 3-4 AP, everything that doesn't can cheat off the top of the deck, everything seems to have super high damage potential, and all of it is super cheap to boot. Anyone have good advice on how to prioritize a Gremlin list?

  14. Apologies for the long absence from this OP but its been a rough couple months.

In responses to something said: I don't consider ANY advice given bad advice and am grateful for all of it. Also, while there IS one specific player I'd love to beat my issues are against the Gremlin faction as a whole. We have several skilled Gremlin players who show up at our tourney's in my state and I find myself equally frustrated by all of them. 4ap Slop haulers, 2ss stuffed pigs, pigapults, 36" snipers, all of it throws me pretty hard.

Often I find myself having to activate all/most of my crew while my opponent just activates a stuffed pig and ends.

I've tried Dreamer to combat activations, but his main defense against damage (shunting off to a nearby nightmare) turns against him if a Pigapult is around since they can target the bodyguard and blast onto Dreamer.

I'm considering trying Collodi next. Seems like stealing Gremlin AP and using it against themselves could be good. Can make stuffed piglets explode prematurely. Make Roosters charge against their own people.

Lileth can tangle shadows the pigapult away, and if you pull it into your forces and away from its ammo, then thats 20 ss of models largely wasted. (I also disagree with your Tuco for a pigapult is not a good trade of Neverborn.)

You are braver than I attempting to Tangle a Pigapult. Ca5 vs WP10 isn't gonna go well most of the time
