  1. Hoffman's Dampening ability.

Anyways, I played this crew against my friends Von Schill and it worked out incredibly. The Santiago/Guardian combo is INCREDIBLE.

It also worked out great cause they poured so much into killing Hoffman (lost him turn3), but that didn't seem to slow down the crew at all. So much damage potential.

  2. One of my fave lists in competitive events has been the following:

    35SS:

    LadyJ

    Von Schill

    Guardian

    Death Marshal x 2

    Witchling Stalker

Then depending on how big of a SS pool I want for the match (or mobility needed) the last bit is either a Watcher, 2 Guild Hounds, or another Death Marshal.

You make a lot of friends with this list.

  3. A lot of folks tend to forget as well everything he hits with that Chain Spear gets Slow.

If you run the Mobile Toolkit you can have lots of fun Control Det'ing a wounded one, and then det'ing his scrap counters. Fun fun fun.

  4. I completely agree with a Witchling making it into a LadyJ list. Even if it just gives you something with a Magical weapon. This is something her lists tend to lack . . . .

The Watcher is awesome if anything for something else that is fast moving and can take/hold objectives. It seems now though that just using the points for another Hound may be a better choice . . . for her.

Guardian is always a solid choice to keep her up, and again . . . I can't also stress enough considering Von Schill to give her some ranged hurt and take the heat off other models.

  5. I'm not entertaining a list idea of Justice, Lucius, Totem/s, and lots of Guild Hounds. The ability to pass out lots of Melee Expert with a fast moving (yeah, fast moving) Guild crew would just be funny to play.

  6. Yeah, Perdita can own Hamelin so hard. Her crews are able to pick out the choice targets (why are you shooting rats?) and just shrug off the bad effects. You also get some awesome mobility depending on how you build the crew. Having the chance to "family bomb" helps you out a lot on picking off targets on the jump or snagging objectives when needed.

  7. I'm sorry' date=' but [b']Slow to Die is a reaction to getting killed as well. Slow to Die heals first and foremost thanks to it being an interruption to the killing effect, which removes the condition for the kill. It is no different than inferno in this particular situation.

The wording in Slow to Die seems to be a mere reminder and is already controversial enough. If Slow to Die is the only ability capable to actually prevent kill, because of its wording, then we must assume the wording is what prevents death - in that case it would prevent any death, including outright kills from Headshot or Slith Jugular.

However, the past rulings for these two abilities interpreted the Slow to Die wording as mere reminder that a heal during Slow to Die can prevent death, because Slow to die interrupts the duel which would kill the character. That Headshot or Slit Jugular do not work that way was the reason why they cannot be prevented (i.e. the wording is a reminder, not a relevant rule).

In such case Inferno is no different, because it too interrupts the duel that kills Sonnia Criid. It's no wonder it contains no reminder about healing, because it is not an action that would normally allow for a heal - only the Desperate Mercenary's unique ability can turn the situation into a heal, at which point it becomes no different to Slow to Die.

Oh dear . . . another good point. Kudos . . . I've sparked interesting debate. Let's keep it civil, (which we are) and get this resolved.

  8. Only healing during Slow To Die actions will save you correct? Examples:

Criid has Inferno up . . . is "killed" . . . this will then deal out a pulse 6 damage to my Desperate Mercs standing close to here, which kills them. Before they are removed they give Sonnia a healing flip.

So awesome, but I believe it won't work, cause it seems only Slow To Die healing can save you.

  9. So you found a use for the hunter then, eh? :)

Haha, I still swear by the Hunters. Just for the fact they can give out slow like no one's business if you get them in the right position. It is also a neat model to have Hoffman steal Arrest off of. With all the boosts the Hoff can make it a pretty vicious resist for your foe.
