@ EbonStar - Yeah., GW is not the sharpest knife in the box. Would be better if they sold off the Specialist Games licenses to other companies that would actually do something with them. or better yet, get Jervis back and put him back in charge of that division as he pushed support for it.
I think their BoD isn't very hobby savvy. I also think that GW is one of the reasons behind the trend towards skirmish level games over the past five years or so (they obviously were around prior to that, they got a big boost more recently) with people struggling to field correct sized forces for anything bigger.
I'm fine with them not capitalizing on the trend. I'd rather not give them any more money if I can avoid it.

Nathan if the small Spiders were 11 piece I would be pulling my hair out... I think he might be talking about the Large Steampunk Arachnid... The trick with that blighter is put some blue tac under the main body so the legs can set in the right position then remove it and stick the whole spider to the base.
That takes planning. Shame on you for suggesting that!

Using the SoulStone just as normal, meaning adding the next card.

Good, just got back from the LGS. I got to do a demo tonight, which was fun.
Hung out with the chick at another store for a while, that's always a good time too!
Yeah, that's about it.

Do you guys not think its a Jan ken Bon? and that one master is more powerful than all others? I find it very much so and when one master is strong in a matchup they can be countered easily by another master. (for the most part)
I only find it to be that way when people don't take Strategies, Schemes and special terrain into effect. Also, I also find when people try to "optimize" their crew they tend to fall more into the trap of thinking that's how the game is.
Sure, if the Masters are thrown head to head then its obvious some of them aren't as good against some others. You don't play the game that way though, you're trying to get stuff done. In my experience so far every Master has tools to deny every other Master VP's, and still collect them for yourself.
-
Really.....?
No.
-
I find that they force the players to adapt to the situation. The strategies, schemes, and special event/terrain stuff is what makes the game shine in my opinion.
-
You have to define the walls. It's possible that they cannot be flown or floated over, nor ignored in any way along those lines.
Unless they're destroyed.... or walked through by a spirit. I guess the players could always say that spirits can't walk through walls to create a little more parity.

Well that would potentially make everything beer and pretzels now wouldn't it.
I won't deny that.

On the lines of this question. I searched the forums for a ruling but couldnt find the answer to my question.
When using a soulstone to change the starting totals when using magical extension does the card you flip replace the initial one you flipped or is it added?
Cheating replaces, SoulStones add.

using the example from the manual. What if there is another family member 6" to the right of Papa? Does the chain keep going or does each model need to be within 6' of Nino?
And when does the measuring happen? Can you premeasure this? There are some huge tactical advantages to being able to measure companion distances before anything has activated or announced.
Thanks
If the Ortegas stretch across the entire board, and are all at 6" or less of another Family Member they can be part of the mass activation. I do not suggest a player does this until he or she has played with them a LOT.
This works because they're all Companion Family, not Companion Perdita, etc...
Companion can be measured before you make the declarations. No worries there! If you're using that to sneak in some other measurements I would expect an opponent to rightfully call foul.

To make it more beer and pretzels, instead of playing a standard shoebox game only use 4 puppets and a master (1 of which may be a sidekick). This is how I play most of my games.
AND pour a couple of pints, and put out a big bowl of pretzels!

I'm torn on this. I play a lot of three or four player games, and find that I prefer the larger toy box, two player games to anything else.
I'd worry that at six player it would get bogged down.
-
Doubles work out REALLY well when people are drafting their toy boxes from the pool. It can help to allow people more options.
I think describing it as being "like Malifaux" is much like saying "apples are like oranges." There's definitely enough that's different to make it its own game, with the exception of the characters. Even those are different enough interpretations to make it interesting.
-
Ok that makes sense. Thanks. I think I was thrown off by there being no way to have more than one Henchman representing a SF group at the moment.
Wyrd is REALLY good about laying out rules that come into a play a book or so down the road.
I'm at the point that when I see an "odd" rule that doesn't really do anything now I'm confident it will....oh yes, it will.

I'm just happy I got hard to kill, slow to die and I make healing flips, otherwise I would have been served as dinner already
Toughest damned turkey ever!

Ciaran: just remember to teach her how to do it right
*arches an eyebrow*
Really now?

Not to mention that Guild trumps race. Period.
Congrats on the date... Will she beat you up like the last girl?
If I'm fortunate

What if some of the Guildees ARE Spanish?
I went to the UPS Store yesterday to ship my Secret Santa gift, and ended up with a date too.
BEST Secret Santa participation ever!

No, he completely heals.
Exactly the opposite effect.

Awesome!

I should point out I was being sarcastic. I've always said Marcus is hugely under appreciated.
Oh.
Yeah that would have helped.
I have to add you back to my "not a jackass" list.
-
Marcus is rubbish...
I disagree. I've seen him played amazingly well.

I've found that board gamers like the mechanics enough to give it a couple of looks. Unfortunately at the moment a TON of the appeal is in the flavor of the models (rather than some fantastic game play) and so it seems to stick more with Malifaux players.
I love the game! I play it whenever I can, although that's slowed down with school starting up again.
