  1. Simple green will take off paint on plastic although I find the models need to sit in it longer.

I suggest Superclean. I find that even Simple Green will damage plastic, over time. Superclean won't do anything to metal or plastic, except pull the paint, primer, and superglue off. The paint literally started to fall off of Zoraida, within hours. I hit it with a toothbrush and it's cleaner than the day I bought it. It's cheaper in bulk than Simple Green as well (from Wal Mart).

If you use it beware, it's HELL on skin. It's a biodegradable engine degreaser, so, wear gloves of some sort.

  2. A few people have mentioned Mordheim/Necromunda and to be honest what makes me the most sad with Malifaux is that it seems like a campaign system like they use just wouldn't work. I really love the idea of starting with a low level crew and building it up over several games.

I'm not so convinced that a persistent campaign system wouldn't work in Malifaux. It wouldn't look exactly like any of the others, I'm okay with that though.

  3. He doesn't take over the world? He is the Evil Rodent Mastermind.... To whom I owe my allegiance.... Because he reduced my avatar from the aether.....

    He IS rather talented!

Although his best work comes from making me laugh, when he's trying to be serious.

    How's it 'Fell?

    How's it everyone else too?

  4. *yawns*

I went to bed early and had trouble getting out of bed this morning... I'm practiacally falling asleep at my desk.... I'll go to bed around 1130 or midnight tonight, get up around 530a and be more awake tomorrow.... WHAT GIVES???

    You're just strange!

Also, I have no idea what you posted on my profile wall, it shows a broken link.

    Some people :/

  5. On the steeper angled roofs there should be tiles or shingles of some sort. On the "flat top" roofs (they all sloped at least a bit) it could be wood, tar and gravel (although there's some debate as to when that started being used) or even tin sheeting.

Corrugated iron was used all over the world as well, I understand it's even pretty iconic in Australia.

  6. Ciaran, is this a vacation, or a school trip?? What is your major?? Things we should have asked AGES ago... :)

This is for fun. Two of my best friends live there.

I'm a Business major. I switched from Fine Arts just before Fall, and couldn't be happier. Ironically I also tend to make more art NOW than I did before....funny that.

  7. Woop! Woop! That's the sound of da puppets!

I thoroughly enjoyed everyones' reports, so I'm glad everyone seems to have gotten something nice (and I won't say no to another teddy ;))

At this rate I'm definitely gonna have to field that Marcus Teddy picnic toybox - 7 teddies and counting...

    Anyway, congratulations to everyone :D

    It was shockingly fun!

    (eleven and counting....I think I have a problem :/)

    Congrats everyone!

  8. Maybe a moving piece of terrain (floating swamp gas bubble or crystal ball?) that moves around the board after each activation round to give some benefit or hindrance. It would be easy to do a random direction (hex board has six directions, cards have thirteen numbers, two numbers move in one direction and the number seven doesn't move) and a random number of spaces (like damage in Malifaux).

I have a couple of ideas about that too...

  9. How about individual fig sales?,.. as opposed to the "box sets". I mean, what if I want to field a bunch of the teddies? How many box sets would I have to buy in order to get a full crew of them? If I could buy them individually,... that would rock.

In my case specifically,.. I would like to get 3 of them to proxy as daydreams for my dreamer crew. But alas,.. no individual sales of them. (At least,.. not that I've seen)

The idea was to keep the SKU count low to put it in the boardgame category, instead of the miniatures game category for most store owners. Wyrd has said in the past that this will not change.

Teddies are Limited Edition models as it is, I don't expect they'll ever get sold individually like that.

  10. Unfortunately this is not how rules work. There is no "oh, we know what they meant so lets do that" in competitive play. The card as written functions a specific way (the way I've stated above) and until a rules marshal rules otherwise, that cannot change. Erratas and rulings are they mechanism by which rules people let us know what was intended so we don't have to infer it :)

    Really?

    Earlier you said:

    Good find.

That ruling breaks the Viktorias though :)

    "Each Viktoria is individually unique"

This means that when you get your second Viktoria at the start of the game, you have both Gun Vik and Sword Vik in your crew. Then "Weapon Selection" kicks in, gun Vik loses her pistol, and hey Presto - you have two Sword Viks. And then the universe implodes.

Also, the card specifically states that whilst Viktoria is unique, you may have two in play.

Basically, the ruling you linked makes no sense at all and completely breaks the card mechanisms. I'd say at worst it should be ignored, and at best it needs to be re-ruled, because making both Viks unique is definitely not the correct ruling to address the questions in this thread.

So, you want a Rules Marshall to give a ruling to change it, yet you'll ignore the Rules Marshall's ruling on it because you disagree with it?

    I must be missing something.

Can you explain your position here?
