  1. I thought they were small too. Looking at buildings from that era at Knott's Berry Farm or Calico Ghost town, the actual buildings were constructed small for heating purposes.

I LOVED those places as a kid!

It seems that most of the buildings now have been moved to Knott's as the company gave the Calico property to the state.

The paper stuff can ALL be scaled with the a little know how and the right software. Some is far easier than other of course.

  2. I was handed an older army of Lizardmen for WHFB, and was looking to start both WARMACHINE and HORDES. I won't touch any of them for quite a while. As the army that was handed to me was part of a recruitment attempt I will be playing down that... down the road. The guy that handed it over accepts that and is quite happy. I will probably never play a PP game now though. Malifaux has diverted the funds from them completely.

The other thing it's down is gotten me back into the hobby, in a VERY real way. I used to work for GamesWorkshop (in a corporate store) and I find myself giving painting lessons, talking terrain construction, etc... as I sit in the FLGS working on my Malifaux groups. It's a lot more fun now that I have a real love of the hobby.

  3. You can paint polystyrene foam ("blue foam") with standard acrylic craft paints, no priming necessary. (Although a good solid black or white base coat never hurt) *NEVER USE SPRAY PRIMER/PAINT ON FOAM, IT WILL DISSOLVE AND MELT!*

Hope this helps, and good luck! :)

A good trick is to seal any foam with watered down wood (or white) glue. You can spray primer onto that once it's dried.

  4. Deadlands was a little clunky for its card driven system. Castle Falkenstein's system reminds me most of what Malifaux has now, and that game was always a TON of fun to play.

I will probably never enjoy a dice based game as much as a card based game, as a system it's just boring. It doesn't allow for much strategy or drama in my mind.

    Make the game!

    Please?

  5. Heya all, new guy here! Isn't that the point of the thread though?

I'm a corporate America refugee turned soon to be art student. I've been gaming on and off since I was seven (about twenty six years so far) and am blown away by the quality of work on this brand!

Well... that's about it for now...
