Plastic melting glue and an actual (non-valuable) paintbrush will erase traces of filing and mold lines if applied carefully.
I use Tenax 7R plastic welding cement, but there's also Ambroid ProWeld on the market and Model Master Liquid Cement for Plastic Models does an excellent job of the actual gluing with a long stem applicator.
