  1. I know he is getting just half damage, but still each ranged hit on him is 1 dg and it's not such a big deal to hit him 6 times within 2 rounds. And the chance that he will kill something and regain all his wounds with this only one strike in charge is not big. The only solution is to use him with Silent One, but such combo is imo a bit too expensive.
  2. I don't want to argue as Trapper is clarly stronger model, but comparing these two is a bit unfair as their role is slightly different. Trapper is a typical sniper whose role is to take good position, shot and push away the enemies, defending your own master if possible. Acolyte however is rather a type of scout to be deployed in the middle of the table, shoot at Masters (and let them use SS), or cast icy fate on them. If playing against specific army (like Nicodemus, Rasputina and Gamlins, Gremlins) he can approach and devour. I don't want to say he is stronger than trapper, just have a different role and if anyone want to use him as a heavy damage dealer, will be disapointed. but changing the topic thing that I find quite disapointing in the new book is the Snow Storm. We must pay 11SS (!) for the dude who has 6 Wds, his only way to heal is to kill sb in HtH (or to have close at least 1 Silent One) and in charge he has just 1 attack! Moreover all his abilities let him to improve Damage Flip but not the Attack, so he will always hit with unmodified Cb 6. All pushing abilities are of course pretty cool, but to use them efficient we must start activtion order with Snow Storm (idea is to move all gamlins and golems closer to let them charge or shoot the enemy). If we do that we need to move Snow Strom forward (allowing enemy shooters to aim him). Even if we assume that the enemy needs 2 turns to shoot the monster down using all his ranged attacks, it is really great opportunity for him.
  3. Poko you are complaining all the time (as you always do btw ) I used Acolyte several times and I cannot call him weak model. It is just very specific and it takes a lot of time to learn to use him well. Versus Guild he is quite weak, but his eating counters can do a lot of harm to Nicodemus and other undead. Shhoting twice with respectable Dg (even if his cb is just 3 then) is also quite nice and allow to slow the enemy before he comes to the Raspi and Gamlins.
  4. Thx guys! Now most of the problems seem clear to me. However I still have problem with Ignite trigger, so please tell me if I understand it well. Kaeris shoots using Ignite and she inflicts damage. As she have Cb 6:tomes:tomes she automatically activates trigger. In the 'Turn it Up" description we may read "at a cumulative -1:tomesCb", so the second attack is made with the 5:tomes (I suppose 1 tome is lost due to mentioned description). However if I use :tomes card when making the second attack I still have 2 :tomes in my total and I can activate trigger one more time the same as Rasputine does with her spell. Am I right or wrong?
  5. Hi guys! yesterday I finally got my Rising Powers and while reading it I found some problems, which, I hope, you help me to solve. Colette Can she cast “Now You See It…” on herself? Kaeris How many tomes does she have in Ignite Cb (in Ignite stats there is Cb 6:tomes:tomes, while in triggers there is only one grey:tomes )? Mannequin Mannequin was hit by the Ryle Guild Pawn Gatling Gun. The damage was 4 + 4. The question is how many damage points Mannequin (Object 2, Armor 3) suffer? Two [4-5 (min 1) + 4-5 (min 1)] or three (8 -5)? In other words is the gatling special ability damage counted as extra attack or it is add to the normal severe damage? Silent One Does the ‘turn to Ice’ last until the end of game? Gunsmith Gunsmith is shooting using explosive ammo and triggers ‘experimental’. Does he add:blast to his new dg? Mechanical Rider Can I lower the turn number twice? For example it is turn 6. Two turns before I changed mechanical rider turn by 2 (from 4 to 2). Now in the 6 turn he is set to be in 4 turn. Can I switch him one more time into turn 2?
  6. Hi everyone! I've been playing wargames for 8 years, probably all most important systems (WFB, WH40K, Confrontation, FoW, Infinity, HD) . I've been looking for another good, simple and fast skirmish to play since Confrontation 3.5 practically collapsed after the release of C:aotr. and I found Wyrd at Gencon a few weeks ago. I was really impressed by the models and together with my friend we decided to order rulebook and first starters. We received the stuff yesterday and are going to do the first playtests this weekend.
