  1. I find that if I do not put some kind of basing before I prime (and I'm going for tabletop quality - not perfection) I will finish painting the mini and end up never putting the decorative basing.

After all that effort painting, the mini looks pretty much done once you paint it, and I get scared that I will screw up my paint job and just put it off. For my Malifaux mini's I am priming on resin bases, and may try to do that from now on. It just turned out a way better finished product.

  2. I think it has to do with the Rotten Harvest. (checks the website one more time) Hmm... not really sure, it has about one day left that and that would set it for 11/3. You are right, it is indeed counting up now.

Must be the devious scheming of the Neverborn or something.

  3. Earthquake is a Pulse effect centered on Lilith and that pulse extends 12" from her. Alluring is a 3" Aura that's centered on Lilith also. I think you are mixing Aluring & Earthquake togethier somehow and making it a ranged spell out of it.

Read it one more time. I was confused. It is indeed a 12" pulse around Lilith, your explanation is the correct one.

  4. Alluring is based off of Lilith, but Earthquake can target something 12" away and is a 3" pulse effect from the target. So you can pull stuff towards you (into charge range of something) or move things out of a terrain feature

  5. I always saw the key theme of the malifaux world centering around Malifaux as this big meat grinder, where human life is just cast away in droves to repower the soulstone veins. The Neverborn seem like the resident natives that occasionally let humans in and grow in power to kill tons more people and enrich the soulstones.

My impression was that December was a cannibalistic human who got so powerful, he became troublesome for the Neverborn, and would have seized that power for himself. So the Neverborn had to put him down. If December was a Neverborn, I don't think the other Neverborns would have cared. They only seem to get mad when humans are uppity.

If that's not what happened, then I'm gonna have to go with my Aqua Teen Hunger Force theory:

"THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO, before the dawn of man as we knew him, there was Sir Santa of Claus, an ape-like creature making crude and pointless toys out of dinobones and his own waste, hurling them at chimp-like creatures with crinkled hands regardless of how they behaved the previous year."

  6. That sounds like a pretty crazy combo. Does it really work that way?

If you cast violation of magic on your own witchling stalker, you would still have to work around Magic Resistant 2. Plus, the stalker's Ca is 5, so violation of magic would only deal 1 Wound and get prevented... Right?

(edit: read it one more time, sounds like it would reduce the spell damage by 2 to a minimum of 1. So I guess if 1 wound was all you need, it would work)

  7. Total noob question, I just played my first game of Malifaux w/the Lilith starter.

When you use the sprint spell on terror tots, it gets to move Wk for each :malimasks. Does the :malimasks from the tot's Ca count?

Seems like it would not be worth casting the spell unless you got at least 2 movements out of it. Otherwise you could use that ability point to walk.

p.s. I introduced Ramos to the Mature Nephilim and took him down in the end, so it did not make much difference in the game.

    Thanks!
