I have it on good authority that a majority of the initial planning for Adeptifaux 2014 is going to happen in a 3 hour car ride to and from Gencon this year.

Does this mean you are going to run events this year again? You have run great events every year so far. Looking forward to Adepticon 2014.

I'm sure the results will be up soon. I had a great time as usual at the con. It is always run smoothly and always play against great people.

Had a great time. Played in Cake, Team, and one qualifier. I do think the team tourney could use longer rounds, and I think we would be up for 4 games.

Everything ran well, everyone I played was great. I was happy I got to play against Nix in the team tourney.

I would like to see the master also be a one day thing, and bring back the Brawl tourney from last year, that was fun.

Also don't forget Avater Pandora popped up and beat chompy in one of the masters games.

Well I have 5 Malifaux events(well once I register for the team event) for the weekend.

If we make it in the first qualifier, can we still play in the second for fun anyways? Even if we end up in the top again? Can we switch faction between events? and the finals? Say you get top 4 with Guild, but want to switch to ressers.

For the team event, will there be any kind of theme prizes or scoring?

Also what kind of cake do people like? Need to play for that event.

Was their in August, wish I could make this one, but lost all my wife karma for the month by going to Da Boyz the week before. I am going to try for Nov, if you have one.

I like brawls. Although the only time I have played one was at Adepticon last year. No one else in my play group was 2 masters from the same faction.

I like the possible for new and fun combos with 2 masters.

I can't wait, was there last year and will be there this year. Please tell me there will be a brawl event. Had a good time with it last year.

Just wanted a little more clarification, any enemy model without Anathema would have to take the terrifying test, even undead, constructs, and spirits. Is that correct? Thanks.

It seems I have been wrong most of this thread, but I am going to say no, as the master did not directly kill the model.

If the model kills itself, then it was the source of the damage and if obeyed model shot the target, then it was the source not the master. That is how I see it, but then again I could be wrong.

Whilst being obeyed the model counts as a friendly model and can, if they happen to be stood next to a valid piece of terrain, reclaim Malifaux.

But the main question is, does the person casting obey count as the one killing the model if they force them to kill themselves.

I know you can't cause enough wounds to kill the model or do an action to sac its self. But you are saying anything that causes Dg to the model is ok, even if it would end up killing it?

If I obey Pere is cast Oopsie!, when he has 1 wound left, you are saying I can, because it does 5 Dg? Or I can't do it since he doesn't get a resist flip so there is no way to avoid it?

I guess we would need a ruling on Dumb Luck for the first example, as the Lacroixs in book 2 state it does wounds, but the v2 card for the bayou gremlins say damage. So if it was wounds he couldn't have done it, but if it was damage, then he could?

1) I would say no, since it was hisown trigger that killed him, not something directly from the master. Just like you can't obey someone for the reclaim Malifaux scheme.

2)I think that was my inital point, while you can obey someone to damage themselves, you just have them kill themselves, but I guess I am wrong on that. SO I guess you can damage yourself to death.

Wouldn't activating the trigger kill the target, so you can't use it while obeying.

I always thought you couldn't obey a model to do something that would kill themselves. So you wouldn't be able to use the trigger, since it would end up killing the model you were obeying. Am I wrong in this?

If I am, I still think the master themselves need to be the source.

I do see what you are saying about obscuring terrian and blocking terrian about shooting through them.

But if all the exceptions line up, wouldn't that cut a hole through the blocking terrain since the excpetion are there already?

You delcare a piece of terrain blocking. Lets say a wall with a ht 3 pillar at the end, but the rest of the wall is ht 1, it is all one piece, do you break down each section with differnet heights or is it all what ever the highest point is? Since they are all one base.

If you break it down, then the windows would only be ht 1 for that portion of the structure and you should be able to shoot over it with no issue, which then would go over open terrain(inside the building) and over ht 1 blocking terrain again.

I could be wrong as well... this is why my post count is so low on the forum after being registered for awhile.

Doors are open terrain, windows are ht1 blocking terrain.

Inside counts as open terrain.

If that is true, wouldn't you just be shooting over ht 1 blocking through open terrian and over ht 1 again for the other window?

Isn't it like saying the whole board is open terrain except for the lava flow which is hazardous?

The whole house is a structure, except for the inside and the windows are doors, those elements have their own rules.

I would have to say depends....

If there is nothing inside the house blocking LOS and you did not declare the house as obscuring, then yes they can see each other, if both are standing in front of the windows.

If you declared the house as obscuring terrain for some reason, then you could not target though it at all.
