  1. Thank you for all the kind words!

Yes, I decided I wanted to go with a "unique" color scheme. Most of what I had seen done was in black.

While I did't "sculpt" the base, I did assemble it from the Wyrd ghost town accessory pack and some valejo pumis mix.

Now I'm deciding between McMourning and Zoriada for my next project...

  2. I was fortunate and had some very productive paint time this past weekend. I was overjoyed to finally get my Santana Ortega mini. I was unhappy with the zombie dude she comes with and decided to fabricate a suitable base for her. She was great fun to paint!

    Here we go, enjoy!

  3. Thank you everyone for the kind words!

The writing on Papa's sign was indeed "challenging" I must have started over a half dozen times. That little detail took me about an hour to complete.

I happy everyone likes how I painted Perdita's face. I have eyes painted under that sombrero too!

I really like that Wyrd sells the base inserts to finish the model with. I have seen many well painted models that would have been so much better with a decent scenic base. The fact that I only have to paint 5 of 8 models to complete my "army" allows me to spend more time on details like the bases.

Thank you for the constructive criticism, I have the alternate Perdita sculpt as well as her avatar, I will employ your advice on those two models!

I am nearly finished with Francisco and Nino and will most likely post their pictures tonight.

Once again, thank you for all the kind words and advice.

  4. Hello!

I'be been hanging around the forums for awhile, and I have just recently started painting my models and playing Malifaux. I thought I'd post the first two completed models and maybe get some feedback.

Perdita and Papa are my first two. I have Francisco and Nino almost finished. I'm waiting to finish Santiago until I know if I'm able to get the alternate "Santana" sculpt.

Without further wait, I present Perdita...

    Thank you for your indulgence!

Tonight I finished Nino... Francisco is being a bit bothersome, I'm not quite happy with his frilly shirt or his sword. Perhaps another Gin & Tonic and I'll get him finished later!

    Here is Nino...

I finished Santiago this evening, I'm still waiting on Santana to arrive, but I'm ready to field my Ortegas!

I'm working on an objective marker and pondering what crew to start next.

    Here's Santiago...

  5. Fresh meat here! I was just introduced to Malifaux at "Fall-In" and was immediately smitten!

At present I am working on a "Family" Guild Crew and a Resurrectionist McMourning Crew.

A serious shoulder injury is keeping me from painting as well as I previously could (and is slowing my progress down as well). I do promise, however, to post some pictures just as soon as I have something I feel is "post-worthy".)

I plan on entering some Tournaments (when I find some that are reasonable close!) I also plan on introducing the game to my local Wargame Club ("The Legion" in Bethlehem Pennsylvania.

If anyone knows of any players close to Bethlehem, PA. I would be very excited to participate in any Malifaux games that might be occuring in my area.

Hope to see some of you soon!

  6. well its not magical extension that would stop me from useing the dog for killjoy its the fetching of a body counter that makes him worth it,

Necropunks are good, but why not just use a 2 pointer dog, it runs out and there you go, well its just how i would do it.

On the version 2 card, it looks like the Zombie Chuahuhua no longer just pulls Body Part Counters from out of thin air. It seems that (according to the new wording) a counter must already be in play. It then is transfered to McMourning.

I looked at other post referencing this, and it appears that an earlier version allowed one to simply produce a counter from thin air. That of course would be sweet...but I no longer think I could get away with it. :P

  7. I have had lots of success with Killjoy in a McMourning crew. At 35 ss I run Killjoy, a Necropunk (the Killjoy delivery system), 2 canine remains, a chihuahua, a convict gunslinger, and two rottern belles. The first order of business is for McMourning to carve those dogs up and start pumping out big nasties (the Rogue Necromancer and Flesh Constructs) as quick as possible. My record so far is ending a game with an extra Necromancy and 2 flesh constructs. My goal is to have a "perfect" 6-turn game of a necromancy and 5 flesh constructs. Mad science, indeed!

Killjoy is a perfect compliment to the heavy hitters McMourning can summon.

I like that idea, that is the way I was thinking about going on larger builds. I just finished assembly and primer coating of my Convict Gunslinger.

I promise to post pictures of the finished models, it may take me some time, however.

  8. I have just immersed myself into Malifaux. I am a zombie fan from way back, so The Resurrectionists were a "no brainer" for me (forgive the pun).

Somehow I felt drawn to McMourning. While pondering on a Crew list, an idea for a theme hit me....McMourning seemed a bit like Dr. Frankenstein (I'm so clever, right?), but I wanted a truely monsterous creature for his "monster".

I decided Killjoy seemed to fit this role.

So my Crew List is as follows...

    McMourning

    Killjoy 11ss (12ss)

Zombie Chihuahua 1ss (to be sacrificed to bring Killjoy into play)

    Miss Pack (Nurse) 5ss

    3x Canine Remains 2ss

and that leaves 1ss to give to McMourning in a 25ss Scrap.

I will be painting up a Flesh Construct as well, for obvious reasons...

I don't have much "Table Time" (Ther doesn't seem to be many folks around here who play....yet), so I'd like any thoughts or comments and possibly any advice on how to pla this list from those much more experienced than me.

    Thanks in advance!
