  1. Thank you for all the kind words! Yes, I decided I wanted to go with a "unique" color scheme. Most of what I had seen done was in black. While I did't "sculpt" the base, I did assemble it from the Wyrd ghost town accessory pack and some valejo pumis mix. Now I'm deciding between McMourning and Zoriada for my next project...
  2. I was fortunate and had some very productive paint time this past weekend. I was overjoyed to finally get my Santana Ortega mini. I was unhappy with the zombie dude she comes with and decided to fabricate a suitable base for her. She was great fun to paint! Here we go, enjoy! Your comments are always welcome.
  3. I just finished Abuela Ortega. I posted her pics in the original post. Enjoy! I also finished Santana Ortega, look for her in a separate post!
  4. Wow! Very nice blending and shading. For some reason I like the Guild Hounds the best, although it's tough to pick a favorite among so many superbly painted figures!
  5. Very impressive painting! I like the contrast that you create with your color palate. As I have Lady J and her crew staring at me across my painting table, I may try my hand at working with black hats and coats!
  6. Oh yes. I will get to grandma. My schedule just became a bit cluttered with something called "work", blah... Maybe a bit later this week...
  7. Thanx! This will be handy when I decide to tackle Levin's Steampunk Abominations!
  8. I just finished Santiago. New pictures attached to the original post. Enjoy!
  9. Just finished Francisco and the Enslaved Nephilim... pictures have been added to the original post!
  10. I finished Nino this evening and attached his photos to the original post.
  11. Thank you everyone for the kind words! The writing on Papa's sign was indeed "challenging" I must have started over a half dozen times. That little detail took me about an hour to complete. I happy everyone likes how I painted Perdita's face. I have eyes painted under that sombrero too! I really like that Wyrd sells the base inserts to finish the model with. I have seen many well painted models that would have been so much better with a decent scenic base. The fact that I only have to paint 5 of 8 models to complete my "army" allows me to spend more time on details like the bases. Thank you for the constructive criticism, I have the alternate Perdita sculpt as well as her avatar, I will employ your advice on those two models! I am nearly finished with Francisco and Nino and will most likely post their pictures tonight. Once again, thank you for all the kind words and advice.
  12. Hello! I'be been hanging around the forums for awhile, and I have just recently started painting my models and playing Malifaux. I thought I'd post the first two completed models and maybe get some feedback. Perdita and Papa are my first two. I have Francisco and Nino almost finished. I'm waiting to finish Santiago until I know if I'm able to get the alternate "Santana" sculpt. Without further wait, I present Perdita... ...and here is Papa... Thank you for your indulgence! Tonight I finished Nino... Francisco is being a bit bothersome, I'm not quite happy with his frilly shirt or his sword. Perhaps another Gin & Tonic and I'll get him finished later! Here is Nino... As always, your comments are appreciated. I just finished Francisco AND my Enslaved Nephilim, here are the pics... I finished Santiago this evening, I'm still waiting on Santana to arrive, but I'm ready to field my Ortegas! I'm working on an objective marker and pondering what crew to start next. Here's Santiago... And a group pic... Stay tuned for more! Finally, Grandma Ortega... Always bring your pocketbook to a fight!
  13. I'm actually working on a method of painting miniatures with my toes...I also believe I can "throw" dice by placing them in my mouth and spitting them out....I guess we can all breahe a sigh of relief that Malifaux uses cards and not dice!
  14. Fresh meat here! I was just introduced to Malifaux at "Fall-In" and was immediately smitten! At present I am working on a "Family" Guild Crew and a Resurrectionist McMourning Crew. A serious shoulder injury is keeping me from painting as well as I previously could (and is slowing my progress down as well). I do promise, however, to post some pictures just as soon as I have something I feel is "post-worthy".) I plan on entering some Tournaments (when I find some that are reasonable close!) I also plan on introducing the game to my local Wargame Club ("The Legion" in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. If anyone knows of any players close to Bethlehem, PA. I would be very excited to participate in any Malifaux games that might be occuring in my area. Hope to see some of you soon!
