Thanks Hinton! The photo has pretty much destroyed a lot of the variations between the brown of the fur and the brown of the feathers, but oh well. Glad people like the base. I'm at the stage where all my basing questions are answered with cork, sand and static grass... lol!

Thanks for the kind comments, DeafNala! He was made in 1988 by Ral Partha, and I bought him on ebay. It's not the greatest sculpt in the world but I added a few more feathers and fur to make him look a bit less "naked". This is what he looked like originally:

My latest mini, painted for an owlbear fan: I'm quite pleased with him. He was fun to paint, and a good exercise in making brown not boring!

Well, here's mine: I created it myself in POVray, so I'm pleased with it. One of these days I'll figure out how to use that program competently!

Hello! :hello: I too got bitten and then burnt by the Rackham bug, but I've decided to hang onto all my figures (most of which were bought half-price when all the retailers were running scared). Hopefully I'll get them all painted up one day! I'm also kind of hoping that they'll be worth something in a few years, now R isn't putting out the kind of quality we were used to. Fortunately, I was never much part of the tourney scene (I'd have had to go to one first!), but while I still have the book and a few armies I can always rope the bf into a game every now and then. And yes, I fear no nuclear fallout in my lead-lined room! :laugh: I have to agree that the Wyrd minis are incredibly classy, although at present I only own one (Viktoria). She may be joined by others in the future.

Yeah, I'm sorry not have been able to see Amy again, it was great to meet another painting chick, especially one who was so enthusiastic. Please tell her "Hi" from me. *blush* Thanks! I'll do my best. I seem to remember you and Amy doing some classy stuff too!

Ah, hello! How's things? Currently, I'm hiding in Germany (thanks to a new job), which is why I haven't been to any Ozpainters painting days. I'm quite sad about that, actually, because I had a lot of fun meeting you all!
