1 WEEK TO GO!!

this time next sunday the worlds largest ever miniature painting contest will close for entries - time ticking folks make sure you get those last entries in. Still tons of opportunites to win some almost gauranteed prizes!

Deadline is 6pm Sunday 28th March

My wife and 4 year old daughter have even picked up paintbrushes for the first time to help the cause - I hope more of you can do the same

Well I wasnt going to reply to this but I will. Fair enough you dont want to enter - thats certainly your preogative as it is anyone elses. minis are precious and they are not cheap these days. Thats why Im quite proud oif the fact we managed to get £2,000 worth of them from companies, many of whom are small business,s struggling with the economic climate yet they still were able to help us out. It probably would have been easier for me to spend the last 6 months in a part-time job and donating the money from that but that isnt the point. The aim is to raise money for charity but also raising awareness of said charity. Im not sure what value your miniatures sell at but some of the best painters around have donated towards this - one sold for £300 and they didnt even enter it in the contest just donated the money.

Sure some prizes are smaller than others but they have been spread in a way that people of all abilities get a chance to win. Im sure if someone walked up and offered you a load of this stuff you wouldnt turn it down.

Someones 2 year old painted a mini and sold it off to help, my 4 year and my wife are doing the same, maybe they understand the idea more.

Some people understandably dont want to part with their minis so some just donated some cash to help or even bid on some items.

What really annoys me is not so much your views but the fact you felt it necessary to air them on here and try and undermine something which i have spent the last 9 months arranging to try and raise money for a cause that may help stop people going through something myself and my wife had to 4 times. Maybe if you went through that hurt you would think differently.

If drink makes you behave like that then frankly you should stop.

right I have 2 announcements for you:

Although we have had a great response so far with entries I know there are many of you that wanted to do more but havent had the time.

In response the deadline for all entries has been extended until

28th March 2010

This gives you another 8 weeks in which to submit further entries.

The extended deadline is open to all categories and all previous rules still apply.

This is a great chance to enter some of the categories with less entries in - a brilliant chance to grab yourself some free lead. If your the only entrant in a category your bound to win something!!

You may be aware that over at Wamp we are running a massive painting contest for charity

The main feature of the contest is the entries are auctioned off and donated to the cause but with over £1700 worth of prizes to win.

Eric (Artica) has very kindly sent a package of some minis he is donating to the campaign. They are FREE to anyone that wants to paint them up for the contest - you can have as many as you like as long as you promise to paint them up for the contest. Its an easy way to enter the contest without forking out on minis and heps a great cause, and means you can still enter without parting with your own stuff if you dont want to. If your interested then contact me and let me know which.

(i dont know the exact identities so if you happen to then please oblige!!)

they come as shown (some are just blu tacked for the photos) I can strip them of paint if required though if you can then great!

As this is for charity please try your best to paint them if you can so only ask for whats realistic for you to complete. If you have some unfinished ones then we would aim to auction them off unpainted or you could donate a nominal amount and keep any unpainted ones.
