  5. Wamp is proud to launch Paint Wars. A team based painting contest to try and raise money for Candlelighters Children's Cancer Charity.

Concept is simple - each team is drawn against another and a theme announced. Your team has 2 weeks to create your entry and then the public chooses their favourite of the 2 entries. The winners then proceed to the next round and so on. (most of you will be familiar with Iron Painter - similar kind of thing

Each team pays a small registration fee and this is awarded to the eventual winners and runners up.

All entries will be auctioned and the proceeds given to Candlelighters.

Each team can have up to 5 members or as little as 1 person. Teams can be based on anything, maybe your gaming club mates, a forum you frequent or even represent your country. Maybe even company teams can be involved.

(maybe a Wyrd team or two!!)

Team registration is now open until 31st March

For full details go to: www.wamp-forum.com/paintwars

Really hope you can support this. If you can spread the word on twitter, facebook, your blogs etc that would be really appreciated.

    Thanks

    Brett

  7. It is with great pleasure I can finally reveal that I have created a new project that I hope can benefit the Miniature painting community as a whole.

So I decided to launch Minipaintingwiki.com a fully fledged wiki designed to create a singular and definitve portal for all mini painting information from techniques to mini companies, even contests, painters and the history of our hobby.

There is so much great information acorss the web but its often fragmented and hard to find. I hope that minipainting wiki can become a useful tool for all painters.

Minipaintingwiki.com is part of the Wamp community but is designed for everyone to access and contribute too.

Minipaintingwiki.com shares log in with Wamp so if your already registered with Wamp then just log in as normal and your free to edit.

If anyone would like to become a moderator/admin for the wiki then feel free to contact me.

The wiki is pretty empty right now so I encourage you all to get writing! Its a community project and wont succeed without your help and help spread the word lets create something for the whole hobby

    www.minipaintingwiki.com

    thanks,

    Brett

  10. Its been 6 months in the making but Little Angels, the largest ever miniature painting contest ever held online reached its climax with Avelorn aka Sven Jonsson winning Best In Show with his entry 'Yarry'.

    Yarry4.jpg

In Total we received 152 entries across 34 categories creating the largest miniature painting contest ever held online. The event was created to raise money for Tommy's a charity that is dedicated to trying to prevent miscarriage and stillbirth. All entries into the contest have been auctioned and the proceeds donated to the fund. Our target was to raise £1,000 we currently at time of writing are around the £2,000 mark with donations still coming in. Our fundraising page can be found here: www.tommys.org/wamp

Full results can be found here:

All the entries can be viewed here:

Thankyou to everyone that has helped us by entering, bidding, voting, publicising or just plain encouraging. Its been a real team effort and its great to see the miniature painting community come together and show what we can do with a little effort.

A massive thankyou to all our sponsors too who donated £2,000 worth of prizes for the contest.

Not sure how we top this next year!!

  11. Yes folks the time has finally come to decide the winners of the worlds biggets miniature painting contest, though in my eyes everyone thats taken part is a winner. Sadly though we cant give prizes to everyone though we had a pretty good go with £2000 worth!! We have over 150 entries for you to evaluate and deem a few worthy of some mini related goodies. Best in show alone is worth over £315 in prizes so choose wisely!

Voting is open to anyone as long as you are registered on wamp - if not registration is quick easy and free. It doesnt matter whether you entered the contest or not you can still vote.

You have one vote each per category so choose wisely.

The polls will remain open for 7 days (they close at 4pm GMT Friday 9th April)

In the event of a tie vote in a category a deciding vote will go to our independant adjudicators to determine a winner.

There are a lot of categories with a lot of entries, but I would encourage you to try and vote on them all if you can, of course here at Wamp we try and give as much feedback as we can in our contests so if you feel inclined to rate or comment any entries we would be grateful.

To entice you to vote there are some random prizes to be won. Anyone that votes is eligible to win one of the following:

Sanctuary Ruins 40mm bases (x4) - ID Works

Sanctuary Ruins 25mm Hero bases (x15) - ID Works

Set of 5 wings - Maxmini

And I might even find some more in the wamp basement!!

    All the polls are here:

    Thanks

    Brett

the deadline will be extended for a few days after the site is up and running again.

  15. only 2 days to go!!

loads of prizes to win, all for a great cause, please try and enter something if you can , we have even had an entry from my 4 year old - even if its something you painted ages ago and its sat collecting dust - stick it in, the more the merrier!

even if your unable to enter at least have a look at the auctions - there may be something takes your fancy

  16. Poots is the man behind Kingdom Death hes a regular over at Wamp so Ill let him know your asking about it.

The minis them self are lovely - they are up there with the mcvey minis in terms of casting and sculpting quality in a resin peice. I personally think they are stunning and would highly recommend them
