  1. Thanks :)

Yeah, turns out I miss the forums more than I miss painting *hides his half finished Nightmare LCB*

I'm back best I can, considering games don't make themselves! :(

I really need to look into inventing self creating games...

That said...I really should go back to work...book 4's also don't design themselves ;)

  2. It is definitely in our best interest to react to the voice of the community, and we do our best, but being rather smaller than you probably expect it takes some time to line up the manpower sometimes.

What I think some people don't get is that it is not in our interest to react to a single voice in our community, no matter how loud and often that voice repeats itself. We also see of course that often that voice gets echoed through others in that persons local community and used as support for the idea, where really it is often just the result of a single group-think. We try to be responsible and balance loud voices against quieter voices, and do not react immediately to individual complaints, or complaints from an individual location. We did at first, and it was not smart. And no matter how much the loud voices feel they're "experts" on the subject, the fact is, if the majority of players think a change is a mistake, that's means the change is a mistake. So the bottom line is it takes time to gauge what players feel, and in fact, when the same source repeats themselves louder, and more often, it makes it HARDER for us to responsibly address the issue because it is harder to find the volume of un-bias feedback we're looking for to do the correct thing.

Figured I'd let you know that we do actually have a method to our madness, whether you agree with it or not. ;)

Well... *looks at dgraz's avatar* well at least you're in touch with your... pony side =]

Anyway, I can already feel a change in the forum's atmosphere. Eric is showing us he's not some mysterious tyrant (though the avatar suggests otherwise) and people are on the verge of a bloody and violent My Little Pony debate. As my lecturer is oft to say "Magic" =]

I like that you noticed my little moment of ironic fun :D

  3. Welcome to the socal community, it's one of the very best! I should actually be down there for at least 2 events coming up (comiccon next weekend, and socal smackdown), so if you're at either, come by the malifaux gaming areas and say hi!

And of course welcome to the forums as well :)

  4. First of all, wyrd thrives off of the initiative of those people who just really have a passion and want to get involved, and we always have our eye out for it. However, second, like the writing lessons we all got very early on, we respond to the basic "show don't tell" and usually being shown over and over until we can't help but take notice of what's being shown.

That is the best roadmap I can offer. :)

  5. Let me say this once

Acceptable - "I see it differently, in my experience I've found...."

Unacceptable - "You are inexperienced, don't know what you're talking about, and are wrong"

This forum is for exchanging ideas and experiences, while personal attacks are unacceptable.

  6. welcome to Malifaux, glad to have another player in the area! :)

I'm also not far outside the Sacramento area, and even though I don't get in many games, I spend way too much time thinking about Malifaux :P

Anyway, I expect as I settle into the area we will be looking to see what we can do to get the local gamers involved, particularly in things like playtesting... so keep an eye out over the coming months!

  7. As we're working to continue development of Puppet Wars, we decided to give you all a little input into the game in the form of a poll! That's right, you all get to choose one of the the next masters to be developed for the game. Select one from above!

    It's that easy! :)

  8. There are very few situations in which we ever send less product than requested or send product late to our distributors. (Usually in regards to new products such as Terraclips and Puppet Wars where demand far exceeded our predictions). We are rarely out of stock of any item at the warehouse, and if we do run short, the delay is almost never more than a week before it's back in stock. We have made our products available to multiple Canadian distributors as well.

We regularly follow up with distributors about items they're under-stocking or are out of stock on. We regularly remind them about new releases, and provide up to date lists of our product lines.

Any time you hear a story from a distributor saying that they're having trouble getting something from Wyrd (unless it's Terraclips right now, which we are out of), I can promise you that you could come to our store and purchase 30 of that very mini from our store the same day, because we have it in stock, just waiting for them to ask for it.

Feel free to let your shop owners know that we've assured you that Wyrd is not out of stock of the products they're trying to get. :)

  9. The story around San Jose is that the prospect Daniil (can't hope to spell his last name), impressed so much at development camp that the coaches nearly transferred him to the Sharks AHL club to develop in the US, but decided to keep him in Russia for one more year while he worked on his language skills and conditioning. So many stories like this going around, when something like this happens, everyone is left thinking "what if..."
