  1. Welcome. Some know me as Ghostwalker, some as Mark. Im 38 years old, from Norfolk in ye old Uk. An old time henchman, original norfolk fauxer and derranged lunatic. About 2.5-3 years ago i saw a shimmering light...appraoching it i was sucked forcefully through a vortex and found myself once again back in reality. Well what happened in reality was. I got serious malifaux burn out about the time the Avatars started hitting the stores. Far too much demoing and not enough chilled gaming went on. Alas as these things go. I drifted away from the game that i loved and trod pastures new. That was until a couple of weeks ago. I had remained friends with some faux players and kept abreast of the goings on via twitter etc. But only from a distance. As i said..until a couple of weeks back. Then some chatter tweaked my interest, proceeded to grab me by the nostrils..then dragged me back towards the breach. Any wanderer knows you never get to close to the breach...because strange things happen..then suddenly. Boom..rushing air, elctrostatic distortions and your suddenly back breach side. The chatter got me wondering. Wondering got me looking. Looking....got me rehooked. So here i am once again. Though this time. No henchman duties for me. A change of crews is afoot too. A long time Guild Ortega player. I have fallen to the lure of darkness and have a Kirai crew on its way to me. So i bid you welcome. For those old timers who remember me. I tip my tattered hat in welcome. For those that don't. Don't stray too close, the animals bite. The emergency exits are located there, there and behind me, you will note the handles have all been removed at my request . In the breach. Nobody can hear you scream.
  2. Rise up my fallen minion.... Open your eyes and rise from the darkness... Feel the cold winds chill upon your tattered pages once more.... Breathe deep of the malifaux air and acknowledge your life returned..... Once again the world of malifaux will tremble at your tread....oi stop laughing. 'It's a funny old game' Someone once said. It's true too. I drifted our of Malifaux just as the old avatars hit the stores. But the mad folks on twitter were posting pics, jabbering away about the game recently and an old itch surfaced. I tried to ignore it. But failed miserably. So now I am back, to be cheated by fate and trounced by all and sundry once more. But in coming back, I Fancied a change. Last time round I played mostly Perdita and the family Ortega, with a side order of the Viks. Whilst my better half played solely Seamus and his ladies of negotiable hospitality. This time round though. I feel cold, i feel lifeless and it's the life of a Resser for me. I have managed to secure a Kirai crew for myself (should have it soonish) and want to take that route for my M2e return. Until it arrives, i thought i would get the ball rolling and share some of my previous works. Whilst i plan, scheme and plot revenge against the denziens of the breach. So enough ramble...here's the candy. Ortegas Perdita Abuela Francisco Nino Santiago and my favourite malifaux character...the master of the Boom Papa Loco As i said i also had a viks crew for a change up I also painted my other halfs Redchapel crew Seamus CopyCat Killer Sybelle Belles The final part was the utter madness the took us...and made us create a cardstock board for our games and demo events. So now i just need to trawl the great wide web to souce oriental basing bits, scenery and ideas for how i will butcher the paint jobs on my Kirai crew. Always welcome feedback on my models...
  3. Well you know myself and Gamesmistress are on board for this. Will see if i can rope our other regular into it. Though i may have to whip him to paint his gremlins.
  4. Will let you know mate. I know another faux gamer up this way has applied to be a henchman and is planning a league at one of the clubs i struggle to get to. Thats or maybe we just scare the beejeezus out of them, last year you got hit by 2 henchman...this year it could be 3...

  9. As i understand it, there will be a colour conversion chart in White Dwarf to cover the new range when its released. It wont help with all the new colour expansions that are coming in, but it will identify old colours and their natural highlighs/shades. Or atleast thats how i understand whats been said.
  10. Please forgive me if this is the wrong are of the forum. But paints in painting seemed apt. Yeah everyone has a friend of a friend who knows a developer i know. But as an ex gw staffer i still have a few decent friends via various boards who are really in the know and occasionally give me some nice little snippets about new stuff. Heres the lowdown on the paint range changes. Basics -Lots of renaming of colours, nothing is leaving. -Different catagories now, Shades (washes) bases, layers, glazes (thin washes) and textures. -Prices are unchanged. Details - There are 144 paints (the current line is only 73), so the range is doubling in size. - Broken down into Bases (foundations), Layers (normal colours), shades (washes), Dry (essentially goopy paint for dry brushing), Glaze (thinned washes for easier blending), Texture (sand + colour) and Technical (liquid green stuff). - Bottles are unchabged. - Every color is renamed, there will be a white dwarf with a comparison guide released. Blood red is now wild rider red, Ultramarine blue is Calgar blue, skull white is white scar etc etc. There is a big expansion in the greens. There are pinks again, and more purple. - Foundation white!! Named Ceramite White - New how to paint book that includes a 90 minute DVD - Mega paint set available year round now, but is super expensive apparently. Prices are apparently the same (for now). Paint Names BASES Ceramite White Averland Sun Jokaero Orange Mephiston Red Khorne Red Naggaroth Night Daemonette Hide Kantor Blue Macragge Blue Caledon Sky Stegadon scale green Incubi Darkness Caliban Green Waaaagh! Feel citadel colours must feel threatened by the new paints other ranges are releasing.
  11. Job - no check . Kids x5 check. Other half- check (though inspiring female gamer). Normal amount of talent - check. Ability to collapse in stupor at other painters abilities - check (actualy desiring to consume their brain to absorb their talents). So thats me loving this plog and definately following it as you continue your trial and tribulations over the time ahead. Milk jug idea was awesome but i wonder if the uk 4 pinter milk cartons will work just as well hmmmm. As to glue, i use something called vitalbond. It comes in thick or thin variety and works fine....well fine unless your 7 year old tests the aerodynamic capabilities of a 1st run thunderhawk gunship (you know the all metal comes in a wooden box variety). Apparently about 20lbs in weight hitting the floor at speed is more than any contact glue can take, even with 6 miles of brass rod, 7 packs of green stuff support and the blood of several hundred 1 week old sable/white collie pups (they're just cuter).
  12. I think the key when using the GW terrain for Malifaux is to use it more like a bitz box. Kitbash bits together, throw in the usual debris from your own bitz box and see what happens. I have seen some amazing work on the forum using bits of different kits, hirst arts moulds and a good rummage around the car boot sales and charity shops.
  13. 1 post below yours on the forum there was one lol. Take a looksie. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?27913-Walpurgis-2-Hobby-Log-Graveyard-Board We're finding many of the new style fantasy kits can be very usefull in Malifaux. If you are able to throw in some extras from other websites then you can make some incredible boards.
  14. Sometimes when your trawling various forums and just chilling out, you stumble on a previously missed thread that makes you wonder how the heck you missed it. I though i had done a good job on my WWG board. But holy moses you have blown that to pieces. Amazing work and its those little details that make it a real envy. Little things like the wanted posters, handyman poster. The dog collar. Just lots of little things that mean someone other than the builder, could spend a lifetime playing and still discovering new features. Congrats on a great board. Certainly made this 25 year vet take notice. May even end up investing in some Hirst Arts kits....may have to sell the souls of my kids to pay lol.
  15. hiya and welcome to the wyrd side of life. I would try to offer my pearls of wisdom. But in truth as far as tactics and winning go...i suck! lol. But theres plenty of info around about the various factions and playstyles. The 'malifaux matters' section is probably the best place for an overall run down. Good luck and happy gaming
