So i've played going on 12 games with Ulix between closed and open beta. Here's my breakdown:

    1. Whisperers are good. Bring at least 1.

    2. Slops are meh. Maybe bring 1.

    3. Mecha Porkchop cranks your pigs to 11.

    4. The sow is very meh.

    5. Zoraida brings card draw you really want, alternative would be BBB

    6. Warpigs are guided missles. Don't expect them to live.

    7. Turning enemy scheme markers into Piglets is very strong.

    8. Old Major is solid enough, but he's not essential.

    9. Play 2 Swine Cursed and a Porkchop with Zoraida or Brin. Go ahead. Then Come back and comment. I'll wait :)

Regarding the 2 Swine Cursed, Porkchop and Brin combo, what are the synergies that make it so good? I don't get to actually play that often so won't be able to test it for a while but I'm very interested in an explanation of how they interact with each other if you have time.

  2. Did they update the beta files yet? Trixie, Burt and others haven’t been updated fully.

the change log said Burt would get +1 stat to Pepperbox, but it’s still a 5 in the files

  3. Burt Jebsen
His current iteration strikes fear into the heart of absolutely no-one! He is supposed to be a maniac with a gun the size of a watermelon who is capable of blowing a hole in the enemy team but is instead nothing but a small speed bump who assists the enemy in killing himself.

I don’t believe he will see much play time like he is which is pretty unfair since a vast majority of Bayou players have purchased and put a fair paint job on him due to how awesome he was in M2e.

I’m not asking to return him to his M2e glory (which is impossible because M2e glowy is gone anyway), I’m just asking not to waste 8 soulstones on a combat model which has ZERO methods of deterring attackers or protecting himself.

    The pros:
    1.    He is a great scheme runner who can’t be tied down by engagement due to Agile and can self sufficiently move 15 inches per turn on his own via Reckless.
    2.    Clockwork grenade being a bonus action is great to generate glowy tokens on the Wizz-bang crew but needs a 7 to go off.
    3.    I “think” Reckless triggers Sammy LaCroix’s Petty Illusions and is essentially a free card draw.
    4.    It’s All in the Reflexes’ suit can be added after the duel flip with a glowy token.
    5.    He’s versatile. This could be a pro or a con depending on what opportunity SS cost the developers have applied to this.

    The cons:
    1.    He’s an 8-point scheme runner who crumples faster than a paper bag. Between him damaging himself with reckless and the rest of the Wizz-bang team trying to damage him to put glowy tokens on him, he will die from the first enemy shot targeting him.
    2.    He is not blast resistant +2 like all the other Wizz-bang models?! WTF
    3.    His cost doesn’t include the healing model required to run him.
    4.    Agile is OK, but requires an action.
    5.    “It’s All in the Reflexes” doesn’t state when it triggers, so it is assumed to be ‘after succeeding’. This means that he has to beat the attacker in order to trigger this. Good luck on that with Def 5 without any other defensive tech. He will likely be dead before ever using it.

    My recommendations:

    Option 1:
    -    Make him cost 7 and make “It’s All in the Reflexes” trigger after resolving. At least it might go off once before he dies.

    Option 2:
    -    Leave him at cost 8.
    -    Give him Blast Resistant +2 and two of the following:
        1.    Infused body so he can use glowy tokens to prevent damage.
        2.    Make “It’s All in the Reflexes” trigger ‘immediately’.
        3.    Give him Hard to Kill.

Please feel free to comment on which Option you believe is best or make new suggestions.

Let's make Burt Jebsen great again!

    Sammy LaCroix

    McTavish w/ upgrade Tactical Trenchcoat

    Gracie

    Swine-cursed

    Gatreaux bokor

    Gatreaux bokor

    5ss

    Turn 1

Arcanists get a pass token. Marcus gets initiative. Marcus flips masks every time he uses Chimerancy and ends up handing out 4 mutations (Flying and Camouflage), then pushes nearly the whole team with Primal Roar. Cojo tossed Miranda. Miranda mutates herself and moves up. All the beaters get into position for charging next turn.

Wong's mob blows themselves up in a display of fireworks handing out damage glowy and fast. Wong then blows up a scheme maker with a Tome to get two to drop back down at the start of next turn. Bokors heal others and obey McTavish to shoot the Razorspine and does 2 damage. Nothing else in range. Swine-cursed moves up. Gracie moves up to the slaughterhouse. Who smells bacon?

    Turn 2

Wong drops the two scheme markers from Launch into Space into the two visible table corners. Arcanists get a pass token. Marcus gets initiative again and Primal Roars to move the team up. He then forces Cojo to charge with Call of the Wild and Gracie eats the first punch. Paul Crockett stands and shoots Gracie twice, triggering the Coordinated Attack with Cojo both times, resulting in about 5 damage to Gracie. Bokor activates and heals all the damage. Miranda transformed into a Cerberus and smashed the Swine-cursed down to one health. Razorspine finished off the Swine-cursed and I forgot to drop a piglet. Wizz-bang crew focused all efforts on taking down Cojo and killed him on the last attack of the last activation. Wong BJ’d the Launch into Space. Both score Reckoning. Wong scores Power Ritual. Marcus 1 -Wong 2.

    Turn 3

Marcus gets a pass token. Marcus gets initiative… again.. and shit hits the fan for Wong as Miranda activates, leaps and kills two Bokors at the same time before they activated. Sammy La Croix manages to bury the second Cerberus before it activates. Wong crew focuses all efforts on killing Miranda. Everyone except Paul and Marcus take damage. Sammy dies. Wong hit the tome trigger on Launch into Space and did a decent amount of damage with Fzzaap! due to increased TN on the shockwave duel from using Gracie as the source and having Olivia with 3” of the Razorspine and Cerberus and Miranda. The buried Cerberus popped up next to the Jackalope and manoeuvred a charge on Wong and smacked him for five damage. He squealed away, but the Cerberus did relentless pursuit at the end of the turn and stayed in engagement with Wong. Wizz-bang has McTavish, Gracie and Wong left, all hurting. Both score reckoning. Marcus 2 -Wong 3.

    Turn 4

Wong drops two scheme markers from Launch into Space into two more corners of the map that he JUST has line of sight to. Marcus gets initiative yet again. Marcus’ hand had 13,13,13,10,9,8,5 and Wong’s highest card was a 10. Marcus activates and kills Gracie and hurts McTavish then accomplices into the Razorspine who kills McTavish. Wong can’t go anywhere because the Wizz-bang crew never left the deployment zone and gets hurt more this turn. Marcus scores Reckoning and Assassinate. Wong scores Power Ritual. Marcus 4 -Wong 4.

    Turn 5:

Marcus kills Wong. Game over. Cerberus drops scheme marker in Wong’s deployment. Marcus scores Reckoning, Assassinate and Power Ritual. Marcus 7 -Wong 4.

    Thoughts:

    MVP’s Marcus:

Sabretooth Cerberus. Terrifying 11. Leap. 3/4/5 attack with Onslaught trigger… all for eight points… 9.5/10.

Paul Crockett. His gun ignores friendly-fire and concealment while being able to force a beast to attack… for 6 points… brutal. Slap the natural camouflage upgrade on him and no one can retaliate against him while he shoots into melee and generates extra attacks. 9/10.

A close runner-up was Miranda. The ability to transform into a Cerberus and murder squishy models in the backline is amazing on top of being able to heal and Call of the Wild (albeit no built-in Ram like Marcus) makes her extremely versatile and scary. 8/10.

    Worst:

Jackalope. He is nothing but a minor distraction. 3/10.

    MVP’s Wong:

McTavish. He is great on offense when coupled with the Bokors. They can heal him and obey him to take shots with his amazing gun. His melee damage track is pretty awesome at 3/4/5 with and execute trigger when his gator gets hungry! Very little defensive tech puts him at 8.5/10.

Gatreaux Bokor. Awesome. Healing, obeying and 8” projectile with blasts. Can get whatever suit AFTER THE FLIP with the glowy tokens. Only 6 points. 8/10.

Runner-up: Gracie. The Duchess of Pork is quite the tank. Backed up by healing and obey to get her some extra movement, she can really anchor the mid-line and allow your other models to go about their business. She was the only reason that the Wong crew lived past the second turn. Very slow however and has the horrible 0” melee range on a 50mm base which can be abused by the opponent. 7.5/10.

    Worst:

Swine-cursed. Very difficult to keep alive unless you leave them in the back field. They never seem to take that many hits even with 4 glowy tokens on them. It seems that if you are using the glowy tokens to absorb damage, you will not be getting very good value from them when they go to attack. I would give them a 5/10.

The biggest complaint that I have about the Wizz-bang crew is that the only model who can utilise the glowy tokens on enemy models is Wong! There is no other benefit or drawback to it. If Wong dies, it is pointless.
