My LGS received theirs back on the 1st of August. I dont think you guys will be disappointed. Its a shame its taking a while for your LGS to receive their delivery.

I hope so, my local store always gets their new game orders on Friday from their distributor. I will be really sad if I don't have a copy waiting for me tomorrow. I have been wanting this since I first got into Wyrd products. Waiting for it has caused me to delay my TTB game for over 3 months now.

Eh, looks like a sturdier leg than the two Young.

It is the extra weight and the appearance of her leaning way forward that worries me about the small connection point. I already have several models that are just one small foot or tippy toes on the base and they constantly worry me that they will snap.

She was a zombie summoner, who allowed friendly undead models to use her actions. Looks like you might get 2 mindless zombies in her box as well as her.  (or they may be intended to go onto her base as well)

Thank you. So it is a named character and not a pack of three minions? That is good to know. I thought it was a pack of minion. It kind of sucks not having any clue what any of these great looking new models do. I am trying to determine my purchases for the online store during GenCon. Without any clue as to the models abilities, it is hard to decide where to spend my money.

  4. Where are you finding these details about their stats and abilities? I have not seen anything on these models. I was curious to their stats and abilities before I buy them. I have Tara so what makes Talos a good choice for her crew? And where can I find these details?

  5. So there seems to be a couple Outcasts releases for GenCon. The couple model renders posted look pretty cool. Is there any way to find out a bit more about them? I am not attending GenCon. If the new releases fit my playstyle, then I definitely want to pick them up during GenCon in the online store. Has there been any talk or details about Talos, Midnight Stalker, or the Outcast upgrades?

  6. With previous miniature games that I played, I would typically prime the miniatures in one of two ways. I would prime them on the sprue using spray primer. Or I would assemble legs and torsos to bases and prime the arms etc, still on sprue using spray primer. Based upon the size of Malifaux minis and how they assemble at odd joints, I am having issues using these two methods. I find some pieces way too small to prime on the sprue and I find that I cannot often times leave arms and such unattached to prime. I am also having difficulty priming them when not attached to the base due to the often times small attachment points like a single foot or tippy-toes. Because of these issues, I have resorted to using a brush and painting the assembled models one at a time by hand. I am finding that this is time consuming and doesn't always give me an even coat. And when I don't have an even coat it can sometimes make it difficult for me to see some details or where different segments begin or end. So I have the following questions for advice. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have searched through Google, but I was hoping for some Malifaux specific advice.

    1. Do you prime your models using a brush or spray can?

    2. Do you prime your models after assembling and if so do you attach them to the base before priming?

    3. If you attach to the base prior to priming is it a permanent or temporary attachment?

    4. Is there a way to do brush priming quickly and evenly?

You kind of have to look for the errata bundle, it doesn't come up on the page immediately. I think I found it under all Wyrd products, not under the individual cards section.

There was a PDF of the cards for download in the resources section, don't know how well it prints though.

The resource page does not have a download of all the cards as far as I can see. You have to bring each image up separately and then right click it to save it. The page says there is a free PDF of all errata cards, but I can't actually find it. I can only see the JPG images of the cards and it is just either the front or the back. There is not a file that contains all cards or even both sides of one card.

They did a '2017 errata' bundle, you'd think they'd do 'faction wave' and 'full book book' bundles even if there's no discount.

I did not see a 2017 errata bundle on their site. I agree about the faction or full book bundles. Having to search for individual cards in a list of 900+ cards in annoying.

I just bought the Tara box and was a bit upset to find that it didn't have updated cards in it. I was also a little annoyed that the cards can't be obtained from DrivethruRPG where I already have an account. $.50 a card seems a little steep when the card quality isn't on par with trading cards made today. It would be nice if they would release all the errata cards from an update all at once in a PDF that contained layout so they could be printed on cardstock with the fronts and backs matching up. Or so we could take them to a local print shop to have them professionally printed. I would gladly pay a dollar to get 9 errata cards printed at my local Office Depot.

  9. It says they are affected and dealing damage one step down. It doesn't say a non-target model can only take damage from one blast during an attack. It does specifically state that the original target doesn't take damage twice from the attack. It doesn't say the same for any models affected by the blast markers. If what you are saying is the intention of the rules, then I believe they could clear it up by using an example that includes 2 blasts and a single model that the blasts would overlap on.

Page 58 and 59 of the manual

Some effects (usually damage) contain a blast symbol (b). This represents an
Attack that affects every model within an area, rather than just a single model; such
as dynamite, a burst of flame, or an outburst of emotional turmoil the likes of which
would turn an asylum orderly’s hair green.
A blast is represented by a round 50mm base. A blast is placed by the Attacker
so that it is touching the target’s base, but not overlapping it. If multiple blasts
are generated (such as bb), each blast must be placed so that it is touching, but not overlapping, at least one other Blast
Marker. Blasts may be placed into areas the Attacking model did not have LoS to.
All models whose bases are touched or overlapped by one or more Blast Markers
    are affected
, unless the model is more than 3” above or below the blast’s target.
Any models touched or overlapped by the blast are affected. In situations where the
order that models suffer damage matters, the Attacker may determine the order
in which the affected models resolve the blast effects.

If a blast is part of a damage flip (which is usually the case) place one Blast
Marker for each blast symbol (b) in the Damage Severity flipped. The blast deals
diminished damage to models who aren’t the original target. The damage dealt by
a blast from a damage flip is one step lower than the damage flipped for the initial
blast. An Attack with a 2/3b/4b that deals Moderate damage, for instance, would
place one Blast Marker (due to the one b on the Moderate damage), and deal 3
damage to the original target, and 2 damage to each other model within the blast.
It is important to note that the original target does not take damage twice from the
Attack. The Blast is placed, and then all models suffer damage as noted above.
Remember, the Red Joker’s damage is stepped down to Moderate (not Severe)
    damage.

Bolded the points which show it

There is 1 "blast", it all happens at the same time. You don't resolve 1 marker then the next marker.

I read that. But it doesn't say that a model cannot take damage from two blast markers at the same time if it wasn't the original target of the attack. It states "If multiple blasts
are generated (such as bb), each blast must be placed so that it is touching, but not overlapping, at least one other Blast
Marker." It also specifies the following "It is important to note that the original target does not take damage twice from the
Attack." The keywords in my opinion being original target. It does not say that any other model cannot be hit by two separate blast markers and take damage from both. I am not trying to be argumentative, I just want to play the game correctly. What you are saying about only taking damage once may be rules as intended, but it is not rules as written. This is why I asked where it was stated. I wasn't sure if I might have missed it in a FAQ or something.

No, only affected for de blast once, no cares how many blasts you put on the same target.

Where is this rule located? After reading the responses here, I went back to my rulebook and reread the blast rules. It doesn't say that a model can only be effected by one blast. It just says that the blast markers can't overlap. So if I place each blast where they partially cover the same model, that would allow them to take 3 damage twice. I want to make sure I am playing correctly since I am teaching my wife the game.

In the comparison, I do like Sue more - he winds up in almost every list I play, but Vanessa seems cool.  And the card manipulation seems handy, along with the obey.  Thin I'll grab her, if only cause I have instore credit at the local, I'm sure I'll be able to find a use for her.

Being able to setup your construct command flip, their attack flip, and their first damage flip by placing the cards in any order can be powerful. I did this with Lazarus once to trigger the Red Joker on damage flip. That was 9 damage on target plus double blast damage of 6. Very demoralizing to your opponent. Plus her 9 Ca when on the centerline  for her staff is pretty powerful.

It's important to note that if you are defending against an oppossed duel with a TN and your total is lower than the attacker's you will need to decide whether or not to cheat before seeing if the attacker decides to cheat to meet his TN.

This was the part that was throwing me off. I understand it is the rules, but it doesn't make sense that the defender should have to cheat first if the TN is not achieved. It seems like that puts the attacker at a big advantage. It makes the defender burn a card for something that wouldn't occur. It goes against the basic premise of opposed duels in my opinion. Yes it acts the same with the lower total cheating first, but in this instance my lower total doesn't mean I lose if they don't hit their TN. I feel they should have to succeed at their TN before I should have to decide to cheat. This makes it almost like the cheating with your card face down ability.
