  1. I think part of it is 40k's new edition.
Their change to 8th edition has revitalized that game a lot, bringing back players that haven't played in a decade.

I think people just want something fresh like that.
The problem is, 40k needed the huge change because the game had pretty much broken itself into a corner, but Malifaux isn't quite there yet.

  2. I've recently been on a bit of a Troll kick.
Starting up Troll themed stuff in other games I play.   I was thinking though, are there any really Trollish figures in Malifaux?
Big, Brutish, leaning towards ugly and green/grey, maybe with a touch of regeneration?

I know there are a couple individuals that description could apply to, like Killjoy, but anything more broad that a crew could be built out of?
The closest I'm getting in my head are gremlins, and they're a long ways away from big and brutish, lol.

    Any thoughts?

  3. Asami
    Shadow Emissary
    Iconic Fate Deck

    Woot woot!   Super excited!

Only thing I wanted that wasn't there was the Upgrades 2 deck, but at this point, even if they put it up, I probably wouldn't put in a second order for it (no need to pay shipping on just that).
I guess I'll just wait until it comes out normally, lol.

  4. It's kinda weird to me that people keep saying they think the 10T Rider's pose looks too stiff, that it's front legs are in an unnatural pose.

It's in a landing pose, like any horse that is landing after a jump (or flight in this case) of course it's legs are going to be stiff and stretched out.
    That's natural!

And yes, it is definitely jumping/landing.  You can see it's back legs are raised up.   In fact, it's basically in EXACTLY this pose.

  5. That's definitely an interesting sparkle effect.   Thanks for sharing the photos!

(I tried to find some sort of video to show what I mean, but failed.)

I totally get what you're going for, but yeah, way too much work, and I'd hate to have to be constantly spinning the thing.   I'd be like "Oh, it's stopped spinning, I guess Flicker is gone.  He's dead."

  6. So, I was thinking it'd be kinda cool to have Asami's summons painted/modeled differently to represent their Flicker.

Like, I'd have two normal Jorgumo to hire into crews, and one with the flicker effect for when she gets off the super summons.
Maybe two normally painted Tengu, and one with the flicker effect waiting to be summoned.  etc.

Right now, the best idea I have is to do some kind of ghostly neon green paint scheme for them.   Do you guys have any better suggestions?

It says "increase the value of it's Flicker Condition by the number of Markers discarded, to a max of Flicker +3.

It starts its summon with Flicker +1, and you increase that condition by 1 per marker. The limit put on this is +3. Can't go higher than that.

Right, that's how they word things that stack.

So, it gets Flicker +1 on summons.    Done.
Then it can eat corpses to add a max of Flicker +3.

The limit is how much is added by eating corpses.   Not the total amount of Flicker it can have.
You could eat 10 corpses and still add a max of Flicker +3 to the total.

So, for example, if something theoretically came into play with Flicker +3 already on it, you could then eat up to 3 corpses to add up to a maximum of Flicker +3 to that model.
    Resulting in Flicker +6.

That's actually a very good question about From The Maw, They Come, is it Flicker +1 plus all Corpse Counters (max+3) so +4, of is it +3 combined.  I can read it both ways.

I was reading it as the eating corpse markers could give up to +3, so after the +1 they come into play with, they'd have +4 total.

Still it'd be a good thing to have clarified sooner as opposed to later.

Your wish has already been granted :D

    Not really...
Nathan's post that you quoted doesn't answer retnab's question.
retnab was asking if they'll be available in the online store during the same timeframe that they're available at Gencon.

Not a fan at all. It looks weird but in a boring way. Maybe the back will save her if there's indeed something interesting going on there but by far my least favourite of the previewed Masters so far. Oh well, can't please everyone all the time.

I was expecting something more... Oni-tainted.  Not a kid in her mother's oversized bath robe.  :\

I'm still really excited to play with the rules.   Just, less excited about the model.

  11. I'm hoping for Translucent Wind Gamin.

We've got the fire and ice, and wind seems like it should be even more translucent.   Maybe a pale teal or just plain completely clear.
We could have a full set of translucent elementals.  :D (not counting metal because metal shouldn't be translucent.  :P)

The amount of assumptions folks make, one way or another, and the ensuing conversations that turn into arguments, personal attacks and drama flat out amazes me some days. Normally I can ignore it well enough. Not in the mood to today.

Save the pitchforks and torches, and please don't presume to make broad statements on what we are or aren't doing as if you're part of the office conversation that took place. These are several months off from even being put into circulation and to use in various ways that they are intended. Feel free to conjecture, even offer opinion, but don't dig yourself in and fight to verbal death because 'you know'.

You created something people are extremely excited about.   Isn't it thrilling to have so many people so very passionate about these figures?
We're even willing to tear each other apart.

...you may have created a devoted cult of cannibals...

Then do what we do  and co-hench. Trade off events and cover where you can. It works for us here in MD, though we are blessed by a very large malifaux community.

Wait... is that even a thing?

I thought it was one Henchman per store?

If we can have multiple per store, I'd gladly join up to add more events to the pool.
We have about a dozen active players in our store.

I can understand that concern, but tournaments are not the only event types that you can earn mystery boxes: story encounters, leagues, campaigns, enforcer brawls, henchman hardcores, painting competitions, Through the Breach Campaigns...

That's making an awefully big assumption of the Henchman running a lot of events and buying kits for all of them.
Our Henchman is a busy guy.
