  1. We're getting Malifaux started at Critical Strike Games with some demos to grow interest.
I'll be there at 6:30pm with everything needed to learn the game and play.

If you live nearby and already love  Malifaux, let us know!

May 16th, 6:30PM, Critical Strike Games in Edmonds, WA

EDIT: Due to interest, we are now doing this every FIRST and THIRD Thursday until M3E comes out. At that point, we will reevaluate what days/times work best!

  2. Dealing 1 damage from misery had 3 things going for it that I felt are now lost in M3e.

    1. It was something you saw coming when you fought Pandora. You knew that once all of those auras were in place, if you didn't stop it, you were in trouble. That threat of her putting together this puzzle that creates a blender is gone.

    2. That puzzle was a lot of fun to solve in games. Trying to position sorrows to create the killing scenario by taking damage on Pandora instead, or blocking LOS, etc, was a very fun minigame that felt villainous.

    3. The 1 damage pings from multiple sources felt thematically like an overwhelming sadness. I do not believe pushing a model around 2" feels like "Misery."

Controlling the opponent certainly feels like Pandora, but just feels lackluster as the "crew trick."

I may be wrong, but I don't think people I played against in M2e ever were really that upset with Misery. The hatred of Pandora came from paralyzing everyone and limiting their actions/interacts with Dora and Candy. Dealing damage after a tedious setup and winning a WP duel is fine. Telling you that you basically have no more control over anything that happens this game is where the problem was.
