  1. Coryphee Duet Twirlig Blades, Execute trigger: increase dam to 2/3/4... from 2/4/5?  That is quite an increase indeed. Feels like every change to Colette and her crew that suppose to make her more powerful.

Trick of the Hat - resource draining. Another one, considering that she has no actions with suit built in.

  2. Scheming around is quite hard when you have half of your crew remaining in turn 3. Because why not engage performers? They are fragile,  pose no threat , defensive abilities are a joke. While engaged they can interact, sure but usually you need to do interacting also in late turns as well as in early ones, after being engaged they usually do not last to next turn. In M2E at least they had scary triggers like paralyze, Seduction was painful to enemy. Now any deterrent is gone.

Distraction flying around everywhere is supposed to make the fragile performer crew more ‘survivable’, but  I am not so sure yet.

Doesn't work too well when I tried, opponent using focus and/or ss easily overcome that.

A firebug is an arsonist which fits pretty well with the models in that theme.

And then Arcanists from being arcane and forbidden knowledge seekers became petty criminals. Beside too much bugs already everywhere: we have mechabugs,  alien bugs and mutant bugs. I just hope that gaps in Kaeris list won't be filled with Fire Cockroaches of Death or Flaming Mosquitos.

Ruleswise he seems original enough and does not seem to overlap with Raspy. This was not easy I guess and required a lot of creativity.

Fluffwise, I am eager to read what his place is in our faction.

In terms of pure artwork quality, I like it more than the usual M3E artworks, although the size of the head is still very small for such a massive body (which is less disturbing for him as he is, after all a monster). I like the colouring also and I think that the saturated purple of the card and the fluorescent green of the preview background do not do it justice at all

In terms of art originality though, this does not strike me as very original at all and reminds me a lot of what PP did a few years ago...

Ahh, a real artwork, not some marvel rejects... I remember those times.

Jokers in. A game without risk is just a spreadsheet.

I like Mfx because random factor is somewhat reduced by replacing dice with cards, cheating fate options, makes planning/tactics/etc. more important. Pushing it slightly toward such game as chess. Is chess a spreadsheet?

Still, jokers are integral part of traditional card deck, they should stay, present rules for them are acceptable.

I had an idea for a Colette ability that I like the look of.

My Show: Models within :aura10 of this model may not take actions outside their activations unless they were caused by this model.

The aura is probably a touch too large and it might be cleaner if it was just enemy models (you could remove the caused by this model clause) but as it would include disengaging strikes as well as obeys it would encourage placing Colette further up field. Perhaps :aura8 would be more balanced.

Interesting, but it would cause some negative side effects as well, like block any Prompt made by Cassandra (Understudy).

  8. Colette was good because of Prompt and Scheme Markers play. Prompt become restricted and dropping scheme markers (further than few inches from own deployment zone) - risky after Shifting Loyalties. Looks like after turn 2, when crew will be send into positions there is not much for her to play, nothing significant at least. Her attacks are weak and You need to pay SS for other actions (with moderate usefulness). Summoning Doves is nice but comes with high price  (8+ with masks).

Sure about that?  I am no historian, but slavery throughout history was more about conquering and expansion than doing it because you hated someone as a people.  The way I see it in terms of this discussion (being about slavery in the US), racism to the horrible extent that we have it and have had it was born of slavery, not the other way around.  That certainly doesn't excuse it either way.  As I said I am not a historian (in fact I find history in a broad sense really boring), so if I am off base on my conclusion by all means tell me.  I am always open to learn.

Most probably I was not very clear with symbol. Should be "slavery is not equal to racism". You are right, it was not about hate but it was just one of spoils of war.

But there is racism in the game world before this story.

This is certainly a very overt example, but it's not exactly new. Just look at Ironsides' fluff: "The daughter of escaped slaves" is literally how it starts. That means that slavery based on race was present in the game world within the last thirty years at a minimum, from that sentence alone.

Slavery =/ racism. In history  slaves  were of different colours and nations, including Europeans even in XIX century. Same goes for slavers.
