  1. I can vouch for how annoying a disguised Misaki can be to play against  

    She goes from being a guided missile that will erase a valuable model to being constant pressure threat that needs to be dealt with but requires a concerted effort and often a complete deviation from your original plans. 

    Dante83 makes a good case for Misaki as a disruption piece, as in a game that plays like a constantly evolving puzzle the ability to change, delay or outright prevent your opponent from achieving their  plans should never be underestimated. 

  2. Thank you for the replies. I did have an enjoyable couple of afternoons painting them both. 

    And yes. It's a very valid pickup. I have always had a tendency toward sloppy building practices. It's only when I have undercoated and am putting a brush to a model that I notice the bits I have missed! Next model I will slow down and find all of the gaps and lines before I undercoat. 

  3. I love malifaux. I love painting. I also love my wife and my dog. 

    The following painting log is a mix of the first two. Somehow I don't think this is the place to document learning to play malifaux with my dog.

    the emissary was a lot of fun to paint.

  4. As a recent convert to the ressurs I thought I would try a bit of threadomancy. 

     

    I have just updated to version (3.2.15) of the vassal engine and I am getting the same message regarding recompiling the custom code. 

     

    Is anyone else getting this message? Is there anything that can be done about it? I use a Mac and I run OS X. I also have up to date java (don't know if this is relevant.)

     

    Any help would be appreciated.

    So far I have only been using Mortimer in his thematic crew with 'corpse bloat' and 'my favourite shovel' to churn out corpse markers and then blow up ones near enemies. With this in mind I know I have not been using him to his full potential and definitely want to get the most out of him.

  6. As the title hints, has anyone taken Mortimer with Seamus? I was looking at options for Seamus as I will be playing my first game with him very soon.

    Mortimer's ability to provide corpse markers could be of use to Seamus for his '0' action on Red Chapel Killer, However, is it too situational and seems good on paper but not on the table?

  7. Ok, so here is  a bit more of what I have been working on. I took a bit of time off painting for fun as I had to knock up a serviceable 100SS of Gremlins for Gertfaux back in Feb, after that, I realised I suck at playing Gremlins and have been exploring the world of the undead.

  8. Thanks for the quick replies. Both these scenarios came up in a game last night. It's only my second time using the ressurs, I crossed over from gremlins and am used to accepting that anything targeting WP is generally a hopeless situation for me! So having a model with ruthless is new territory.

  9. I have a couple of questions that I hope someone can help with.

    Izamu activates whilst inside pandoras engagement range. Her melee attack is against WP. Does Izamu ignore her disengaging strike due to his ruthless ability?

    Also, Izamu's 'a warriors death' allows a final 1AP attack when reduced to 0 wounds. The attack ignores range and LOS restrictions but does it ignore any WP fuels such as manipulative or terrifying?

    Finally, as a side note, I recently crossed over to the ressurs and I am so very happy I did. They are awesome and I wonder what took me so long!!!

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  10. I have played a few games of headhunter with som'er and have really enjoyed it. Outactivating your opponent is the key. Aswell as not spacing yourself out too much on the board. Always having models close to retrieve markers and as a side note, models that can insight chain activations would also be helpful.
