  1. Since a couple of the recent alt models improved upon not well liked sculpts (sybelle and hungering darkness), an alt zorida or alt trixie would be great.

A lot of the current sculpts have tons of great character and story.

    So as far other alts:

     -the dread pirate zipp alt

    -roscoe alt iron skeeter

-I've always thought (and tried and failed) wong dragging a fireworks cart behind him would be sweet

-nightmare big trouble little china wong crew box

    -brewmaster barkeep, with bar

    - more dynamic francisco

  2. 5/16 Neverborn

    4/16 Arcanist

    4/16 Outcast

    1/16 Guild

    1/16 Resser

    1/16 10T

Ringer when one player dropped to go to a wedding was a Gremlin.

As far as placing went for first through seventh it was Neverborn x3, Arcanist x2, Outcastx2. Which representing most of the tourney is what I assumed. Just thought it would mix up a little bit haha.

Fauxmaha was held at Nuke-Con in Omaha, NE at the Ramada Convention Center. It was held by myself, Victoria, and LordZombie. We had a large room that we shared with a few other gamers, but mostly had it to ourselves. Friday night we had Open-Play where we had about 8 players show up to hang out for a bit. Sunday we had an awesome Cabin in the Woods Style Story Encounter with MORE prizes!

Saturday was the Masters starting at 12:30. It was 50ss, Fixed Faction, 3 Rounds, and a lot of fun! We had 16 players that came out from Nebraska, Iowa, and Texas! We had ALL SEVEN FACTIONS represented (with the Ringer playing Gremlins) with the largest showing from Neverborn and Arcanists. We had former champions of major tournaments battling it out on our tables. We had an amazing time and we thank everyone who could make it out!

  4. I've been pretty impressed with piglets, too. The natural :-fate to attacks targeting it means it can be pretty annoying to remove. Giving a piglet reactivate from a hog whisperer and then tossing it with Lenny (you'll want to heal it after the reactivate poke obviously) can get it in their face *really* early.

Mate, even just having one parked in front of a model and Defensive Stancing all day is pure gold.

it's negative twist is for SH attack actions

  5. Woot! We have a group in Des Moines if you're ever around. We will invite you to our tournys too (June 20th- be there). There was a group in Cedar Rapids that played but they kinda took a break when life happened. We started with just a couple people here in August and now have 12 or so people playing. Took some work, but getting a group built up isn't too hard once people try the game.

Des Moines Malifaux on Facebook, join us for info!

  6. its tough for sure- a good way to stop the brew is by range blasting him down- and we don't have those resources- I've played against him a couple times and I do end up getting stuck in the brew ball. Its difficult to deal with. I would say keep a couple belles in your pocket when you go against gremlins or 10T as he may be played and lure your own models out that you need to activate. Some stuff will still get stuck.

  7. really like mcmourning on guard the stash. Sub performer in for belle with heavy scheme based pools. Last time I played it (at adepticon) I made 3 lovely flesh constructs from their second point scorers. A lot of times people only have the resources to get points from it with one or two models on one stash and more of their force on the other. It was very easy to throw some poison on and expunge.

  8. I would definitely bring a 30ss core list and add to it depending on schemes. A quick thing I would shore up would be to have two modes of transfusion. Sebastian is already a pretty big target. Having him also have the ONLY transfusion on your crew makes him priority numero uno.

  9. I think the issue a lot of people have is that he the generalist of the resser faction. He really isn't better at any scheme or strategy than other ressers. He does cool stuff, but I think a lot of people have trouble identifying why to take him over another master.

  10. I was sad there were no new belle models in 2e wave three. I've recently fallen in love with Dead Doxies- I'm hard pressed not to bring one along anymore.

Since we're having a productive conversation- what are your thoughts on when to bring Seamus vs Molly? I play her generally as more schemey and resource denial based over Seamus where I deny by removing the opponents scheme runners and lynch pins.

I know a lot of people dislike line in the sand- but I find it so easy to accomplish with Molly- what are your thoughts?

  11. The rogue necro is a total pansy- agreed!

I'm sure kyhodee would love to have you on to talk about the spirit side of her if you're willing. You did a nice job with seamus on ttb (was you right?).

I agree that the spirit synergy is great- I just don't find that lacking with horrors when I play her, as I think I approach her differently than you- which I absolutely love that there is not one set playstyle in this game. I also think that if we are going for spirit synergy, kirai and yan lo offer greater shenanigans than Molly does. They all do it so differently that it comes down, in my opinion, preference and playstyle.

Honestly I think I mentioned it on the show- I only summon in punk zombies and drowned. I utilize her ap for other things than summoning, and I understand that you're probably using her zero to get a free attack to adhere adversary. Students are great and so are belles, but again, I don't want to waste my investment of resources if an opponent can use a beater to wipe out what I just brought out- even if I accompliced it and used it once.

Agreed- wave three will make a lot of masters shore up what they're missing. Mostly Tara ;P

  12. Good point about the necrotic prep upgrade on killjoy- its a fun bomb. It was more of an afterthought when I added it in, its not something I use all the time.

Sybelle and Yin were mentioned by cheated fates so I didn't include that one again- as I learned it from there and I'm sure if people are listening to our new podcast that they've listened to the existing ones.

I'm all for summoning hanged- but I feel like 'vastly superior' is a bit overstated. For spirits they can be resilient with incorporeal for sure. I'd rather have a punk zombie with HtK and a reliable way to get cards out of opponents hands. Also- spirits are not readily available for players, horrors are. When I summon something for an ap, a high card, and maybe a stone, I want my opponent to spend more resources taking them off the board and being affected by them than I did putting them on. That is how I play her.

I agree- I left my notes at home and we were being waited on by other players so we could get some games in. It was designed as an overview on how I play her and use her for players that are thinking about picking her up. I'd love to go more in depth with her but it wasn't really what we were going for the episode. I certainly don't claim to know the best way to play her, I just have a good time with her :)

Thanks for adding in some extra tips, Molly certainly doesn't get talked about enough- but I'm sure that will change with her gorgeous plastic box!
