  1. Okay, no Hamelin then.

    And in regards to this.

Well at a tournament... i would be pretty pissed if i had to ask each time if the cans of beer you placed on the table were proxies for the stolen or proxies for the rats.
The game is allready confusing enough without  ppl replacing miniatures with different coloured marbles or paperclips.

That wasn't quite what I meant.

  2. To start off I don't mean the alt sculpt.

Recently I discovered Hamelin and learned how potent he can be but I really hate the rats. So I'm asking here if there is a tournament legal way to use something else in place of the numerous rat models he'd normally employ. I heard somewhere about a Dr Who themed Hamelin, but haven't found it. And wad unsure how much leway the Malifaux conversion or alternate model approach would work. I am coming from Warmachines policy of where you need to know at a glance what it is or no good. So could I replace everything with spiders? Or robotic creations? Or slimes? Or something else creative for rats, rat kings and rat catchers? Or is it rats or bust?

  3. So, I got some guilders and decided I really liked the Rasputina sculpt I could get through the Guilder program. However I was curious what the turn around time is for Guilders, as they say that I need to wait for a confirmation e-mail before sending in my Guilders. It has now been about 6 weeks with no confirmation e-mail. Is this normal?

  4. Wouldn't that mean that a door is around 2 1/3" tall, when the miniatures are roughly 30mm tall, which is 3cm, which is 1 1/5" so that would mean a door is twice as tall as a person? Actual 32mm scale suggests 1' is roughly 5mm, or 1/5 of an Inch, which would mean a 7' door would be 1 2/5" tall.

  5. I would say the average Malifaux citizen is hard as nails too though. I mean you hang out with rotting zombies then see a ghost and go "OMFG!" ?

surely you're not suggesting that Terrifying models should cause a Horror duel every time they attack someone

And I know full well that the rules do not support that, but if it's horrific to move up to attack a terrifying thing, then it should be just as horrific when it comes at you so from a realism point of view it should.

  6. Not really. Lets say the giant, bloodtirsty teddy bear in front of you gets distracted and starts to wander off. It would take some serious intestinal fortitude to try to get that bear's attention and keep it from walking away.

I don't know... if you look at horror films as an example. People screw up their nerve a lot more when hitting the monster from behind when it's back was turned, but devolve to screaming when they run to escape, and find out they are trapped.

  7. I personally like the new Lady J pose, she seems a bit fragile in the build department, but I have no complaints about the dynamic pose. Is it a legitimate realistic pose a swordsman would take? No. But it's no more unrealistic then a blind swordmaster, or denizens from another dimension roaming the world and wreaking havoc. This is a fantastical setting with fantastical people. I agree that opinions on the sculpts are subject to each persons preference, but I do not feel that practicality is an issue.

  8. Yeah... I didn't know what he did until it came time for poison marks to come off. I managed to make short work of a Flesh Construct, a Nurse, a Rotten Belle and Zombie Chihuahua. I don't know Resurrectionists at all, and when I saw the Flesh Construct coming for me, and Rotten Belle pulling my Candy through to his back line I went into the middle of things, and Sebastian was on the outskirts.

  9. I think the main reason she was having such a hard time was WHAT was coming at me. It was never really direct damage. It was McMourning giving her oodles of poison counters, then using Expunge with a guy that increases the damage of poison counters. It was nasty. So I would have like 5 poison counters in a turn, then he'd go "Remove them all, and each one does 3 damage" and I'd have to either pray for a good flip for the attack to miss, or blow ss to mitigate damage.

  10. I really like the alternative model, which is good because I like Pandora but hate the model that comes in her box.

As to Pandora herself I'm trying to figure out the real trick to her. I played against a McMourning crew yesterday, and it was just a nasty drag out fight. I lost by 2 VP (I should have won, but forgot to deliver my message even though I set up for it, DOH!) but I lost Pandora in the fight because her range kind of forces her to get right into the thick of it. To take full advantage of her abilities she has to be at the eye of the storm, which while it does make for a nasty series of events, her and 2 sorrows were tearing stuff up by making it attack itself, then going "by the way you lost a Wp duel take damage" but she draws a lot of fire, and seems to have less health than many other masters. Candy is able to help a little with the goody basket, but a bit of focus fire and Pandora drops, which isn't cool since she's also the catalyst for all those sorrows.

  11. 1) she can't pass wounds on, she can take damage instead of another model taking it.

Well that must be an update from my cards, since mine says if this model fails a Df duel, nominate a friendly model in base contact and they suffer the result instead. I hate having out of date stuff *sigh*

    2) no, the enemy model did not fail a willpower duel, although pandora did pass one and can push.

I thought that seemed too good to be true, okay. Thank you for the clarification.

  12. This might be a series of silly questions, but I wish to ask them anyways to get clarification.

    1) Pandora says she can use WP instead of DF in any opposed duel, but it also says if she fails a Df duel she can pass the damage to somebody else. Now even though she changed the Df to Wp is it still a Df duel as well as a Wp duel? Otherwise what is the point of the passing off damage suffered from Df duels?

    2) Teddy gets his extra action after a failed Wp duel happens. If somebody attacks Pandora and she resists with Wp and the attacker then fails to hit, does that count as a failed Wp duel for purposes of triggering Teddy's ability?

  13. The big change from the original to the new is that the original model was on a 30mm base and the new model is on a 50mm. That is Malifaux specific basing that needs to be followed, if you're playing M2E the Polty needs to be on a 50mm base.

THAT is what I needed to know. Time to find me a 50mm base!

  14. Having just got into Malifaux I went on a spree to get things off the ground and have picked up...

    Dark Debts

    Pandora

    3 Sorrows

    Poltergeist

    Baby Kade

    Teddy

    Candy

    Doppleganger

    2 Beckoners

    3 Oiran

    Kaeris

I know Kaeris and the Oiran are a tad out of place. The Oiran are because I'm going to pre-order the new Vik set when I am able, and Kaeris because it's a neat model and I wanted to use her until I found out she's not M2E yet.
