  1. I've always thought 3 was a but over-kill myself, I usually just take 2 to hang around Brewy and wail on things while they're stuck in the drinking contest.

I'd rather take 2 Bayou Gremlins to do scheme stuff instead of a 3rd Shinobi.

  2. I still don't know if I'd bring Lenny, when he's up near the action he tends to go down fast, so I'd rather have Som'er up there to hand out the Ram with Do it Like Dis which is a bigger aura and can benefit a few more models.

Try it out and report back, I'd be curious to hear how it goes!

  3. I haven't tried that out but the Biggest Hat trick with Old Major occurred to me over the weekend when I was looking at his (Old Major's) card.

The only pigs I've used with Som'er are piglets and I mostly use them for free movement for other gremlins.  I think it could work out pretty well, though. I'd take something like this (depeding on Strat/Schemes):

    Gremlins Crew - 50 - Scrap

Somer Teeth Jones -- 5 Pool
     +Dirty Cheater [1]
     +Encouragement [2]
     +Pig Feed [1]

    Old Cranky [4]
    Old Major [9]
     +Corn Husks [2]
     +Saddle [1]
    Piglet [4]
    Piglet [4]
    Piglet [4]
    The Sow [8]
    War Pig [9]

You don't really need Lenny because all your bonus movement can come from Old Major with the Saddle. Writing this up really makes me want to try this out.
  4. One of the things that comes to mind on the 10T side is Yin, who really makes the Drinking Contest bubble a lot more irritating to deal with.

Also, taking Sensai Yu can allow you to have 2 Drinking Contest auras up at a time with his (0) Disciple action.

  5. So I mentioned on twitter that I thought this episode was awesome (I'm a gremlin player, why wouldn't I?).

    Some feedback:

    • The audio was a bit weird? One person was coming in only on one side of my headset and the other person was coming in on the other side. I could hear everything just fine but it was kind of jarring.
    • Not sure if Mike plays only the gremlin side of Brewmaster, but I'd have liked to have heard about the 10T side of things as well.

    That's it, great stuff.

  6. I think it would work for those as well since they can be triggered by you doing other actions.  For an example:

-Bayou Gremlin declares a Sh action on Teddy, and takes a wound for Encouragement

-Encouragement gives you the  :+fate to any duels resulting from the Sh action, of which there are 2: The horror duel and the attack flip.

  7. I'm thinking this for the box:

    Wong

    Lovely Assistant

    Lightning Bugs x3

    Mancha Roja or Burt Jebson

That puts the box at 6 models and 28 SS for Mancha & 25 with Burt (I think).  Does that sound right?

Not all boxes have a henchman but like others have said I think it makes sense to have Mancha Roja in there from the fluff in Crossroads.  Maybe Burt though, he does have Crackerjack Timing for the extra synergy.  Mancha has always struck me as a kind of Fuhatsu type henchman, not belonging to any one crew.

  8. Encouragement only gives you a :+fate to attack. Not damage as well, so it's not really comparable to Focus.

I have been using this wrong for a long time and no one has ever corrected me, wow.  But now that I'm looking at it I don't know how I would've ever read it as being  :+fate to attack & damage.  Encouragement reads gain a  :+fate to any duels resulting from the Action. Damaging isn't a duel...

Edit: Every time I think that I'm playing this game correctly, I keep catching mistakes.  *sigh*

  9. Also, and this is kind of card intensive but pretty great if you can pull it off:

-Som'er activates and discards a  :mask for Do it Like Dis!.  Bring in 3 Gremlins.

-Skeeter activates and casts Do it Like Dis! but this time drops a  :tome  .

-Lenny activates and uses whacked piglet twice on the 'pult and already has the suite built in for Huh, it survived.

If you can pull it off on turn one, you'll have 3 extra Bayou gremlins and 2 extra piglets.  Turn 2 you can kill off a couple of the gremlins for more ammo and additional cards with Survival of the Fittest.  Like I said, really card intensive and it may be difficult to get the cast off on the Skeeter but worth it.  One of those things where you look at your hand first turn to see if it's feasible.

  10. Somer normally just has Family Tree, to keep him as cheap as possible.

I still like to take encouragement because I usually bring a couple of the Kin with me.  So much mileage out of that upgrade.

  11. Gremlin faction must be seriously broken if Slop Haulers aren't good enough to make it on the field. They are almost good enough to be taken in most factions without the heal. With the heal, they seem like a nobrainer choice.

It's not that they aren't good enough to take, just that you don't need to sometimes.  If I'm running Som'ener (see what I did there?) I take them to heal up the Bayou Gremlins I bring in.  If I'm running Ophelia, I don't think they're as necessary, what with Dirty Cheater and QML.  I don't ever take them when I bring Wong.

Edit: I will take the Slop Hauler with Ophelia if I think I'm going to need to really drop Df down off of some bigger targets.
