I think this is another issue of just waiting a bit for things to settle.
Like Mako said, the best scenario here will be a trade/buy network of single cards. For example I only play guild and now gremlins so I had plenty of cards to give away to friends/trade. On top of that if you are only trading/buying singles, you can pretty much ship it on the mail, stick a stamp on the envelope for 41C and you are good to go.
I bought both the Rasputina crew, and Arcanist's Arsenal box (same with Viks and Outcasts), so I'm going to have doubles. As I buy more M2E models, I'll end up with extra cards that I won't need. I am 100% fine with trading/selling those to people who only want singles.

Interesting idea, and great blog.

Well I sent the email about it to Eric so I am waiting on his reply before I take any next steps. However I also would like to have some people "waiting in the wings" to attack the project if we can do it. That way we can spring forth like a Sabretooth Cerberus and attack it all multi headed and what not!
Any word from Eric?

Ah, man, everything I wanted was sold out, too. I still grabbed a couple Puppet decks, but that's it.

Great write up -- thank you.

It's different than 40k's "DON'T TOUCH MY STUFF!", that's for sure.

Tina's crew doesn't have a henchman yet, which would probably be either Snow Storm or Blessed.
I would prefer Snow to Blessed, but only because I prefer the model.

Looks like I need to paint my minis -- it was already on my list of things to do, but it was just bumped ahead of a few terrain projects.

I haven't read Book 4. Book 3 is en route to my house, though, so it'll only be a pay period or two before I pick up Book 4.

I'm just curious -- I'm really new to Malifaux, but it's probably one of the best games/worlds I've come across in years. Unfortunately, my area (Salt Lake City, UT) is incredibly low on players, and since I'm already trying to convince people to give this game a chance, I might as well look into being a Henchman.
"Utah already has Henchmen," you say... that's true, but there's a 50 mile difference between my two closest ones, where I'm smack dab in the middle.
So, what is it like to be a Henchman? What does the "Monthly Malifaux Event" entail?

Please add me, too.
Name: Dave
Country: USA
State: Utah
City: Layton
Store: Endzone (Clearfield), but I'll play anywhere from Sandy to Ogden

I'll thumb through Rising Powers to see what the M&SU papers were called. Also, were any of the big libraries in the Quarantine Zone named?
I really like the idea of making it look like old newsprint, plus Criid's notes. But, the closer we get to making it look official, the more likely we're going to tread too close to copyright.

Thanks for merging the threads, I didn't even know the other one existed when I posted mine.
Take a look at any D&D-world wiki (Forgotten Realms, for example), and you can see how you can talk about characters' lives and different storylines without violating copyright or delving into rules.
And Molly's newspaper was the Malifaux Daily Record, so we could call it that, or Daily Record Archives.

First off, I know PullMyFinger exists, and I REALLY like it -- I don't at all want to suggest replacing it.
However, PMF is more of a tips / tricks / strategies / rules wiki, with fluff being a secondary concern.
So, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in starting, or contributing if I have to be the one to take the lead, a fluff-centric Wiki with little-to-no discussion of rules (in fact, I'd suggest every page that could contain non-fluff links back to PMF).

I was surprised they didn't include at least one Gremlin in the GenCon sets.

Wouldn't Lilith vs. Raspy be even MORE classic than Raspy and Seamus?
I learned by playing Lady J vs. Seamus, and I felt like it was a great match up. Lady J's "no counter for you!" to prevent new Rotten Belles was awesome.

Thanks for the input. As soon as I hit submit, I was worried I had asked an incredibly stupid question -- Glad to know it wasn't just "not stupid," but something worth talking about.

In an attempt to get the most bang for my buck, I'm looking at how I can use the models I own for the most variability. Currently, I have the old Rasputina and Mei Feng boxes, so I've been looking at how to mix and match.
Unfortunately (in regards to number of options, not in regards to how well it would play), Raspy can't take ANYTHING from Mei's crew, but Mei can use EVERYTHING from Raspy's.
The most obvious choice would be the Ice Golem, as Mei Feng doesn't have an Enforcer, and her mechanics don't require much other than Constructs.
So, in your opinion, why should / shouldn't I run an Ice Golem with my Rail Crew?

Why would a company need an official stance on reselling their products in any form? I know a major company does have such a policy, but that's the exception rather than the norm.
Good point.

Has Wyrd put out an official stance on sites like SpikeyBits selling unboxed sprues?
-
Another crossover idea would be Empire of the Dead.

So, I have the old metal Ice Golem on his 40mm base. In M2E, the Ice Golem is now on a 50mm base (according to the last beta rules)...
Does that mean I need to move my old guy to a new base, or is this going to be a similar situation to GW's "You can use the base it came with, so those 25mm-based metal Terminators are fine?"
Also, if I have to move to a 50mm base, is there an easy, drop-in, solution (literally drop in -- drop the 40mm in the 50mm base)?

The original concept image is somewhere between an Under taker and a Coach man top hat (taller than the Undertaker, more brim than the Coachman). The model is almost perfeclty a Miss'ippi.

Somewhere between Elam Ferguson's in Hell on Wheels and Russell Crowe's in 3:10 to Yuma.
New Cards for old models....An appeal for card singles

That's a great idea. I'll second it.
