  1. -The rules need to be easier to reference. The index is abysmal. I should be able to look up any common ability. If an ability is not "common" enough to show up in the rulebook, then it should ALWAYS be spelled out on the card. 100% of the time, no exceptions. As a related bit to this, your references should be in as few places in the book as possible. As it stands, if I need to check tokens/counters, characteristics, common abilities, common triggers, etc. I am flipping all over the bloody book. When I started the game, I was playing Kirai exclusively. It's a bit annoying when people tell you her crew is really resilient but you don't know why because Spirit is in an out of the way place because it is classified as a Characteristic (which is annoying to reference) rather than an Ability, despite it explicitly contributing to the abilities of the model itself!

This is a big one for me. I really dispise the Index in the 1.5 book. For example, I am a new player and need to clarify Spirit. I looked in the index and it wasnt there....

  2. Was made brilliant by a Beckoner, and fell to Huggies obey several times. While in control of my opponent Izamu proceeded to kill Yan Lo (and Soul Porter), an Ashigaru and Chaki.

I now know what its like to be on the receiving end of Izzy. I also no know that I need to avoid brilliance at all costs!

  3. I had an issue running Vassalfaux last night that was not down to a bug but down to my system configuration.

This will only effect a very small number of people, namely people who are Java Developers. If you have installed the developers preview of Java 8 on your machine and forgotten about it (like me), Vassalfaux will only allow you to perform one action (flip card, add character to your sideboard) before it stops you from adding anything further to your sideboard.

To solve this I completely removed Java 8 from my machine. Vassal now works as expected.

I know it will probably be rare for this to pop up for most folk but I thought it would be worth a mention.

  4. I haven't had any real trouble with the new plastics to be honest. 1 Guild Rifleman had a broken strap on his rifle when I opened the box but that was about it.

One tip I would be when removing the parts from the sprue make sure you cut about 1cm away from the actual part itself. Then trim the part once you have it off the sprue. This way you reduce the risk of the part snapping while you clip it off the sprue.

Also, with the really small or fragile looking parts try cleaning the part while it is still on the sprue. That way you reduce the chance of it going flying across the room!

  5. I don't think anybody would mind that at all and the reason for the month long sign up period is for people to get comfortable using Vassal. If you can get a couple of games under your belt then you will have learnt all you need to know about Vassel. I'm sure there's enough people here who could give you a demo run-through.

If that sounds ok then ping me your email address and I'll add you to the sign ups.

Ok cool. I am in and I will also be interested in playing in two leagues if possible.
