  1. Very interesting, dark schemes all along, which is a good way out from doing lighting on all that fire, got some mileage from that warlord terrain huh? god i love it.

Great work mate, always remember, minis live at arms length from you or more, so don't sweat the closeups, make it look well at that distance and youve got three quarters of the job done!

    enjoy the game.

  2. Hi everyone, its been a while since i posted.

a couple of years back i bought a few boxes of Malifaux to try out the game and finally paint them beautiful minis, you can still see the results from that foray here .

However, time passes, a mind wanders and things change, so I got around to the new edition and the new even more amazing miniatures for this edition, looking forward to play a bit more with the new growing community here in Venezuela ( shout out to my friend Drako!), so I've spent a couple of weeks painting up and here are some results:

    Sonnia Criid and Sammael

I painted these first so i could work up to the fiery marshalls in lady J's box, the flame turned out nicely!

just not a fan of the new sculpt, but old one was tall enough to mesh with the upscaling!

even if she doesnt have flames over her, shes smoking hot, Miss Terious

A friend got her in his Goblin's box, so i nabbed her for my collection. Three strong red heads in Malifaux seemed like a bit too much for me (specially since i divorced a red hed already...), so shes blond and colorful instead of broody. Heres Joanna

  3. Hi, just my quick two cents;

I've just started my malifaux collection in gencon, and purchased the dark debts box, the beckoners and the big guy with the 2x4, getting a miss terious in the process.

I also purchsed some of the starter boxes (ortegas, rasputina, som' er teeth and Lady Justice) and blisters galore.

Now, i've been painting and playing with minis for a while, and i know the differences between plastics and metals, and I found the plastics from wyrd to be quite interesting.

first, the amount of minis that are crammed in that single sprue of the dark debts box is unbelieavable, i actually shamed myself by asking if it was ok, and dropped my jaw when every component was shown, kudos for that.

Second, the putting together of the minis has been painless, and turned out some very interesting poses, they are indeed very "flat" and smooth, but to me this was expected as i was dealing with camisoles and tuxedos, the monster loooking ones where fine to my eye, but could indeed benefit from a touch up in detail (because of this, they were undercoated with Krylon spray http://www.krylon.com/products/camouflage_paint_with_fusion_technology/ the khaki one is cool, so that they would get some texture).

third, Miss Terious is awesome, great sculpt, wonderful detail in her box, good degree of resistance in the plastics (yes they will snap if heavily fiddled, but this is a mini, not an action figure), she painted up very nicely without need for a heavy undercoat (leather pants gotta be smooth, oh mama) and was put together in a snap, all in all, a flagship model this is.

So far, my experience with wyrd plastics is mostly positive, nothing out of place from what we get from other companies, the material itself is different from what we get from GW or Privateer, but this is not a negative, just a fact. the minis have turned out great and i'm looking forward for more.

    hope this helps.

  5. Greetings to all; My name is Rodrigo Guerrero, and to no surprise i finally tried Malifaux in Gencon and instantly fell in love.

I purchased over 300$ of minis and rules and cards (althou I misplaced my evil baby orphanage somewhere between Indianapolis and Caracas :slap:), and have been on a painting spree since we returned, the minis are just as beautiful as i've suspected, the game, is even cooler than expected.

so, this is it, i'll be hanging and reading and creeping about, i'll post some pics of my minis tonight so you can see some progress.

Also, I you know the very cool henchman that gave the demos (stocky blonde with a bolivian wife), give him my thanks and regards, is his fault i'm here.
