Re-starting my painting thread as I repainted my show girls again. W
Shot of my main show girl crew. Missing Cassandra as she was badly cast and I'm not happy with how she looks, also missing one of the doves as he's being repainted.
Colette I'm pretty happy with apart from her eyes being a little off, also shes surposed to be holding a soul stone but its seems to of gone missing.
My two show girls and partners. Two of my fav painted models.
The croyhees are painted to match Cassandra.
The dove on the left you can see how I originally did the bases.
Will add photos of my Kaeris crew who surport Colette and my new dark debt crew

Got my ticket today
-
I tried to buy a ticket just now but there's no event up apart form the sept 15th
-
So I got my female gunsmith on Friday painted her are and used her on Sunday. I won both 35ss games I used her in. She was great for picking off people trying to flank my show girls and even when I was shotting into melee I used explosive ammo and to blow up the guys standing next to the girls I shot

Honestly, I rarely switch out any models unless my strategies, or the oponenent calls for it. Collette's crew is competitive, if not broken on almost any strategy that doesn't require killing something. They aren't awful at that, but a few tweaks make them much better.
It's really a matter of realizing what any given model will actually bring to the crew. Generally speaking, models that do weak/moderate damage and are fast, but not showgirls aren't going to add much to Collette, unless they have control abilities. Big damage dealers add something that Collette can't get from her showgirls; it's something they don't need every time, but when they do, bringing johan, the gunsmiths, or another beatstick is usually worth the points, because they fill the gap.
Damage is the thing I seem to be lacking. So I've pick up a gunsmith now looking in to Johan and maybe Kaeris

Don't get me wrong--If you plan out your activation, and use soulstones wisely, you can kill a few models at about a model or two a turn with Collette. It's just that it's going to tend to require half or more your crew using movement shennanigans, attack, and then shennanigans to get out of the way.
Joss, or Johan, on the other hand, can do as much damage in a turn as 2 or 3 of your other models, and the gunsmiths can do it from range. changing out a few models means you lose a few of your movement tricks and a bit of synergy, but allow your team to take 2 or more models per turn if you need to.
Often I'm focusing on get my schemes and objective done then. Stopping the other person and taking their guys down
-
Don't get me wrong--I love the Mechanical rider. but Collette really doesn't have any need for him. There are better beatstick models, Collettes crew is faster, and it does nothing to provide anything that Collette really lacks.
I'd go Johan as a first choice, followed by gunsmiths to add to Collette. they provide some damage dealing that is one of Collette's weaker spots.
True I find it pretty hard to cause alot of damage with my crew and most games I don't kill that many

haha, me and her were going to do a gencon order together just to get them and split the pack. Sadly they were postponed
Yep they're on my list but not till they come out and I think thats not till Nov.
But looks like I'll add a Gunsmith first, then Kaeris and then either Johan or some miners
-
Johan is another option. Cheap for Colette to take and really strong when he's near her.
He's one of the other options I was thinking of

With the gals you move so quickly that you don't absolutely need range as you can stay out of site till you can engage. If you do want ranged models are fantastic as well as Convict Gunslinger. You could invest in a trapper as well, if you want long range and go against constructs a lot. You could think about Kaeris for more of a control centered build. Mctavish is excellent for severe terrain heavy boards. Lazarus would sinc well with your Corphyees. Finally Sue could give you nice will power buffs and can cover chokes to protect your gals, the wp buff is excellent and can even help with the performers 0 to give out slow.Intresting I'll have to read up on them

I'm looking for some advice on what to add to my Colette crew.
So far I've got-
Colette
Cas
3 Doves
2 show girls and mannequins
Coryphée duet
Angelica
I was thinking of adding sonething with long range attacks
-
I've tried and tried to pull it off but even at 50% by cheating it in, I've yet to make it happen. So
I've got to be content with droping people in to rivers or fire

very cool sir, very cool
Thanks, kinda sad to admit to people at work that I soent my long weekend making fake posters

I'd like to see one in the style of old billing posters, like this one:

(link: picture too large to post here)
with Cassandra, Angelica...maybe even mention of the new Escort models.
Ok I made a quick mock up of a old music hall style poster
-
Ok so here are my two show girls painted up. I'm trying to decide if I should paint the mannequins to match their partnered show girl.
-
Very cool custom bases

Intresting idea might take a will to source all the styles of text. I just a huge fan of the art nouveau style of posters

Ha true. I did try it bigger but it didn't balance well with the restof the image

So as well as painting my figures, I'm planning on creating some terrain as well.
I wanted to create a post advertising Colette at the star theater. Most of it came from black and white stock images I put together in photo shop.
I plan to print out and weather it next week.
Ok I've created as suggested a music hall style of poster

Looks neat. The soulstones are a nice touch. And the painting is good as well.
Thanks took a little while to find something that looked like soul stones.

So i've decided to re-paint my Colette crew, as I was unhappy with my original job.
I starting with my Colette and on my 2 maniquins. I didnt spray the bases as I'm tribble at spray painting. So my good friend fritz did it for my.
I started with the skin tone. I use a range of paints from fancy miniture paints, to bog standard acylics watered down. The problem I had with the first time painting them was it was on way to thick so I was fcusing on thin layers.
Then added the wash.
Next was the black layer, I wanted the stockings to have a see through look to them.
With wash and dry brushing, also you can see my kitten decided to have a nap on my painting table.
Purple is the other primary colour for the model.
With wash and dry brushing
Next was her bright red hair
I'm not totaly happy with face but it about the best I can do at the moment with my skill level. I also pained in the detals like the band on her hat and her necklace.
Finally the base, I beads are surposed to soul stones but I think they maybe a little to big

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld is a great young adult steam punk novel set in WW1.
Worth a look

A friend and I are thinking of going in for the $100 and sharing one faction each.
