  1. Just what I was looking for: thanks! Still not psyched (I 'payed that tax' on the C. Hoffman crew because the Avatar was so bloody excellent), but I can understand. It just means players in my group will be playing the campaign a lot more (and still can't wait for the drop-in 50mm surrounds to come out for the other masters that never got a mini...Von Schill...looking your way...).

  2. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, but I've done a lot of searching, and have yet to turn up straight answers. What's up with the Avatars?! Are they really, really gone for good (not just 'as proxies for' Emissaries)? Are they campaign only? Why were they gotten rid of? And, most importantly, if you have answers, where did you get those answers from? I've read a lot of "I've heard this here..." kinda stuff, but can't find a single dedicated thread to Avatars!

And, of course, if there IS a dedicated thread, please be so kind as to link it here so I can read it!

  3. So, I wasn't able to acquire a Dark Carnival set during GenCon, but I like the look and feel of them so much that I'm starting to hunt for a set to get (+The Crossroads 7 organ player...of course :D). A question I have: I keep seeing pics here and there of a 'Black Friday' Corphyee for Dark Carnival. Does that mean that that box will come out on... Black Friday? I don't know. And help you could give would be awesome. I'm also assuming (since I haven't seen them yet) that there aren't any pics of the CADs anywhere.

Also, if anyone has a link to pics of basing ideas, or assembled painted DC, that'd be awesome!

  4. Thought I'd throw my 2p into the discussion of card size. My Miss Anne Thrope card was SIGNIFICANTLY larger then any other stat or upgrade I'd gotten befor, and when comparing to other cards it looked as though both the dimensions were larger, and the die cut was moved a bit from 'normal.' as said above, none of this is really bad-bad, but yeah, it was noticeable.

  5. So, ever since Miss Pack, I adore the concept of a limited "Miss" model every so often: it's just neat, and fun! However, I'm continually disappointed by the absence of a "Miss Demeaner" in the gallery.so, here's my suggestion:

    Miss D. Meaner.

Outcast multipart, able to be made into either a Desperate Merc or a Convict Gunslinger.

  6. @Mako: cool for you and other like-minded individuals, but I got tired of "beta" after "beta," so HAVE been waiting this whole time to try to get a campaign off the ground. Now, seems like TtB will more then likely arrive around (or maybe even after) GenCon, or at least mine which are hard bound. So... It comes across as being late, and I'm being penalized for pledging more. Just...wholly unimpressed. I'll be at GenCon, and I'll be darn unhappy if people there are able to buy TtB before mine even arrives...

I really hope that Wyrd will inform us about what happening... but that's very unlikely.

The none tracker thing seems like a way to drag things out without us knowing.

This. QFT. It's been how long since the last update with the packed box? Over a week? 10 days? And no one (at least on here has posted that they've gotten one, or heard even a PEEP that one has shipped and is on its way? This is VERY frustrating. It's like over the past year and a half: I think it's a light at the end of the tunnel, but it turns out to be a train.

After previous posts on here and the (ABANDONED) TtB forums, I've tried to keep the vitriol off the web (though my poor group gets to hear about it...sorry Nick & Co!), but come on, guys... another peep would be greatly appreciated!

  7. Would be kinda cool to see some/any pics of the multipose minis... do we even know where in the production process those are? They on the boat with the books? Or did I miss an update on those?

No, you didn't. To the best of my knowledge we haven't seen so much as a CAD pic of these (the main reason that I backed to the extent I did), nor have been told if they're in production, or any ballpark estimate for shipping them. I'm supposed to get 2 male and 2 female, but the closest I've gotten is sketches from over a year ago.

  8. Wow... yep, the Ronin and at least the Vik of Ashes is, for me, distractingly off from the rest. I mean, I have the Hired Swords in hand, and I don't think they're unplayable with the other minis in the new ranges of plastics... but yep, it's obvious. I REALLY hope that 38mm render from TtB we saw gets sized down. I don't want my males and females to be, well, the size of Space Marines...

    (maybe Von Schill)

Anyone have a shot of Rasputina next to Lady J and Tara they could put up?

  9. The APEs are supposed to be 40mm, as are the werewolves, Hans, etc if you used the in the SOTR game (though I gave up in that along time ago). Incursion is awesome; I have everything for it already, so won't KS it, but if you don't have the stuff already, and/or are looking for a REALLY fun game set in a great universe, I'd recommend it.

  10. The multi part minis for the Through the Breach Kickstarter are being shown in the 38mm scale. It sounds like there was a change in scale for the new minis.

I forgot to come on here and say it, but Mack said it's just the render, to not trust that 38mm measurement, and that too much shouldn't be read into it. Trust me, I was like "Bwuh?!" as well after seeing that render. ;)

OP: I kind of noticed the same thing with the Vik of Ashes, but considering she's wearing pretty substantial heels on her boots, is the master, etc. can overlook it. I'm sure you've put the other Vik next to her, as well as Taelor and the Student, who are prefectly scaled (even looking closer to 28 or 30, IMO).

  11. Neither. Turquoise. *grin*

I was going to say purple with turquoise highlights. But I am sure Ed would disapprove. :(

Looks like we got your hair color! =D

Actually just paint it in whichever color you are in the mood for. So purple with turquoise highlights. ;D

    *hint, hint*

    ;D

    *nudge, nudge*

When I saw the thread, I thought: "I'm gonna do a purple."

Wow. We went weeaboo super quick, there.:1_Happy_Puppet2: I'll save the black hair to magenta or purple tips for the Ronin.

@Tye_Informer: yes, I have. Even though I'm generally all about the "studio scheme" when it comes to painting... I'm thinking you sold me on red after that post.

  12. Title says it all. I'm just about to start painting the hired swords box, and have given this more then a brief pause because...Taelor was a red head. Now, I like her new look very much, and I'm not sure why her hair got died black, so here's the question: should I paint her as in the new art, or as a red head?

  13. Huh. Steam Trunk looks cool, not what I was expecting. I was expecting... I don't know... like one of those old double sided folding leather-and-wood wardrobe trunks mixed with an early steam powered quadracycle, festooned with tubes and syringes?

    Cheers Jonas,

Ironmonger, Von Schill's art in the M2E book is the same as the old art, I'm informed

That makes me a sad puppet. :Sad_Puppet2:

  14. Th trapper is really useful in that he has a useful crew buff with guide, keeps mobile with his trigger and works really nicely against constructs and beasts. I invariably always bring him along and am never disappointed. He should always be able to get two shots a turn off from turn one and that pressure helps immensely or use him as a sniper that can close off and area of the board by walking out, getting a clear shot then repositioning back out of line of sight. He is not a staright out killer model but is a tactical model.

I like the trapper for his auto-trigger, re-position, and that's really all.

Having a rifle that can reach out and hit, plus having Hunter, he can reliably move himself 8" every turn while dealing out 2 points of damage. So if you take a scheme like Breakthrough he can be a real issue for the opponent to have to deal with. They are sneaky fast and marginally tough.

Honestly, he's not a bad candidate for sniping your own Desp Mercs as well, get the one wound on them so they are more effective when they go crazy....

This and this. He's super mobile, but the reason you take him is board position and PRESSURE!!! Dance around the flanks, snipe here and there, reach out and touch anyone from masters to minions from pretty much anywhere on the board, and then either draw models off to deal with him to ensure you don't get a few lucky flips of DG, or put him in a place to meet up with your librarian/Strongarm.
