  1. Hey Everyone,

One of my friends Richard Courtney runs Clash for a Cure. This is a huge weekend warmachine/painting competition/malifaux tournament here in Central Texas. All the money raised goes to the American Cancer Society. There is an incredible raffle each year and there are always wonderful prizes. I won a custom painted KR multicase last year (pic to follow) and some gorgeous terrain. The prizes are generally donated from different companies and individuals so that the money from the raffle and passes can all be donated. Last year they raised a few thousand dollars. The Malifaux event is Sunday September 14 from 1000 to 1700. Last time I touched base with Rich there weren't many Malifaux players registered, meaning more prizes for everyone! Last year we all got the Walpurgis TTB fate decks and counters. So, make the trip down to Killeen, TX for a fun filled Sunday of Malifaux for a good cause!

  2. I've given both the fated almanac and the fatemaster's book a read through but came across a few interesting things.  How does the fatemaster determine if the target (hunter for example) hits it's defensive trigger (metal on metal) that requires a  :tome ?  I'm sure there are multiple triggers noted throughout the bestiary, but this was the first one that stood out to me.  Thank you

  3. Hey all,

I got my TTB box, but doubt I'll ever need two full aets of the multi pose minis. Also, while I love the Santanna and perdita models I'd rather have cash to get more crews. Anyone interested?

    Asking $50 for perdita

    $75 for Santanna

And make me an offer on the mpm male and female set

Perdita alt picture for reference (sorry could only find the one on eBay)

  4. Hey all,

So as much as I love Malifaux, it's time to trim down the collection and get some new toys.  I have a limited edition nightmare lord chompy bits unpainted, started to assemble and green stuff but just lost steam.  Looks like the cheapest one on ebay is going for $220.

    I'm asking $180 plus shipping

  5. The trick I've found, although it is tome intensive, summon 3 and place them all in base with other models and then cast Ramos' detonation spell. The other spiders ignore the damage because it's a pulse. Causes 4 damage which can take out a lot of cheaper minions. If you can pair it with Joss' open current and make all their models have a - defense flip. Can get really nasty in a hurry

  6. I've been less inclined to stick with the old "make sure you have a max cache!" mentality that I ran with last edition. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well this has worked. I generally with have between 3 and 4 stones and this seems to be enough for me. I generally use them for card manipulation or damage prevention. Very rarely to add a + to the flip, and only occasionally for a suit.

  7. This was really fun to read. With regards to your "tripe" at the end, I found the musing particularly interesting as I had similar thoughts before I went to GenCon here in the states. I ended up at the final table and took second overall. It was then that I was really thankful that I had played against some "cut throat" players at the store. Our pseudo henchman at the time was a fantastic Leveticus player in 1.5, and he certainly pushed me to be a much better player and to think through my activations quite a bit more

  8. The Archers can be ridiculous. I used two last night to great effect. I think this hasn't been said, but the focus mechanic is key with these guys. For one AP they get two focus to spend on the shot. Effectively giving them :+fate:+fate on both attack and damage. I used this to pick off a master in cover and even with his soulstone use, I was still able to get straight damage flips despite him using a stone for the :+fate defense :-fate damage flip. This was a really nasty combo, as it allowed him to regularly dish out his trigger.
