  1. Firstly you need to note that Killjoys Charge is only reduced to (1)AP if it's the first action he takes.. that makes him much less mobile.

    Neither me or Gozer had noticed that last night, but it makes a HUGE amount of difference.. So a Fast Killjoy can only Charge twice.. and then only if he is fast and kills the target of the first Charge without having to spend extra AP.

    Also if you know it's coming save your high cards for when he has the suit to onslaught.

     

     

    It's possible to do, I managed it even against UBER MEGA CHARGY Killjoy.

     

    With the bury delivery system - Killjoy's first action will more than likely be a charge - this removes one of his limitations of speed. He is going to be unburied within charge range.

     

    As always, having high cards is luck dependent. Killjoy is likely to kill his first charge target freeing him up to charge again.

     

    Not meaning to sound negative or such, but when two models seem to be able to dismantle a good proportion of a crew by themselves, it seems a bit of the "OMG!" factor creeping in.

     

    Both being Wave 1 models make me think two things:

     

    1) this combo must have been playtested and others must have managed with the combo with crews... so what did they do that I don't.

     

    2) was this combo really tested.... is it a case of "gamer gone power-crazy" syndrome

  2. What are strategies to deal with tara's bury delivery system?

     

    Yesterday she delivered Killjoy turn 1/2 into my face. Killjoy's 1 charge and onslaught trigger caused huge damage. Plus Killjoy was fast so he could charge 3 times in one activation for a minimum of 6 attacks.  

     

    Took out my RN who was on Defensive stance. Leaving not very much that could take Killjoy out. Took tara out eventually but damage was done...

     

     

     

    How do other people deal with this sort of thing?

     

    Easier said than done to take out Killjoy or Tara. Just rather demoralising and disheartening to see that happen.....

    Just asking for a bit of clarification on the interaction of GA's.

     

    GA's have the Embalmed ability which states that when they take poison damage then heal 1 wound instead.

     

    How does this stack with the Welcoming Pain from Shadow Embrace upgrade?

     

    Would it mean that when the GA's take the 1 point of poison damage they heal 2 wounds instead?

  4. Yeh, tend to agree with the above points. However, having a 13WD flesh construct appear from expunging a target is nasty. Canine remains not so bothered about... though still annoying.

     

    Summoning at full wounds is always going to be nasty regardless of what the model is.

     

     

    Still.... tenacious and determined as an undead mindless zombie... I will carry out with Nico and become the Master of Undeath!

  5. Just pondering.... is McMourning with Moonlighting a "better" summoner than Nico?

     

    Sure he hasn't got the variety that Nico has but Expunging is pretty easy to get off and then summoning either full wound Flesh Construct or Canine Remains is pretty powerful.

     

    Having stuff summoned in at half wounds without a REAL way to help them heal up is a pain. sure you can use decay but that is only 2 wounds (or full if you hit the trigger but is that likely?). You could get the upgrade that allows you summon in with more wounds but that requires more corpse counters.

     

     

    Is taking "Spare Parts" worth it on Nico?

  6. I am quite liking taking Toshiro with Corpse Bloat at the moment instead of it on Mortimer. Tosh gives another decent buff to minions and being undead Nico can heal him easily of any damage taken.

     

    What are opinions on Guild Autopsies? They are pretty cheap to summon, are significant, have a ranged attack.... they seem pretty ok to me.

  7. Ok, if that is the way it works, it is really frustrating when you spend the SS and then flip the right crow.

     

    Could there not be a triple crow trigger whereby minion comes in at additional health or without slow or something? Just so you haven't wasted a soulstone? I know the answer is probably no....   maybe that could be another upgrade for him?

     

     

    On that subject... I had an idea for a new upgrade for Nicodem. What if he had an ability like Obey but one that only worked on Undead? Lower the TN or increase the range or such... it's a mechanic that exists already so it's not "new" in that sense. But it is within his fluff of being Master of Undeath.

  8. Rather than create separate post, can I check I am doing his summoning correctly.

     

    1) Name a minion

    2) work out the TN (Cost + 10)

    3) Declare SS use if appropriate/wanted

    4) Flip card

    5) If card is crow and hits target number then summon minion

    6) If not correct card then cheat in a card

     

    I assume also:

     

    1) You can't change the minion based on the result of the flip. So if you happen to flip a 13 crows and you wanted a Canine Remains you can't change your mind

     

    2) You have to declare SS use before the flip so if you flip a crow and the card is high enough you have wasted the soulstone

    With the Wave 2 released... and the Asian undead, I wonder the following:

     

    I really like the asian undead models. But when teamed up with the more Victorian look of Nicodem's crew, will this look a bit weird and not right next to each other?

     

    Do I get an Asian version of Nicodem... the 10T undertaker...  Or go the other way and get more Victorian-style models for the Asian undead?

     

     

  10. I like the look of Toshiro and the other Asian undead... however when on the table with Nico's more Victorian look do they "go"?

     

    Could make an "all Asian" Nico crew using Bushido miniatures - or go the  other way and find some proxies for the Asians.

     

    Anyway..

     

    What about the Students of X and Valedictorian. Nico can summon Students to suit the enemy crew which I think is pretty good. Valedictorian I have heard / read is that she is over-priced.

  11. These are just my opinions on Nico from my meta and experiences since M2e came out I've been playing him and McMourning exclusively, like mentioned earlier there are numerous ways to play him and it will come down to your own tastes.

    When I take out Nico I of course take models that will benefit the particular strats and schemes the most, such as Flesh Constructs for turf war or punk zombies for reckoning, but when I am picking my support models I look more for what kind of combos I can get with what I call "Primary Minions" the ones benefiting me the most for strats and schemes. ( you will notice I almost always take a nurse because they are awesome)

    Most of these combos I haven't seen talked about but maybe there's reason for that but they work for me so here are my favorites:

    For Turf war: hire a flesh construct a nurse and the graveyard spirit. Run the Fc into the center cast downers on him from the nurse and have the spirit in base behind him, so now you have a 13 WD model in the center with armor +4 that will be on negative flips on duels but if Nico is up there ( which he should be) that's only negative to WP duels and straight to the rest.

    For Assassinate, Vendetta or anything that needs to die, I have morti, nurse, and Punk Zombie. Nurse gives hallucinogen to Punk the morti fresh meats him to your target and Nico gives him fast then the punk flurries and attacks target for four 4/6/7 swings minimum damage on all of those is still 16 damage.

    For Power ritual or Breakthrough etc. I like to have a Canine remains and nurse, nurse gives him uppers and Nico gives him fast so when he activates he can move 24 inches.

    Yeh, really interesting. I have thought about a Nurse.

     

    What about things like:

     

    Toshiro, Izamu and other Wave 2 stuff.

     

    From chat tonight... Corpse Bloat on Toshiro means you can generate corpse counters and heal toshiro back to full health with Nico.

  12. Hmm... so with the usual Line in the Sand strategy, would you move Nico to the line so he can have his aura's where they make most effect? Keeping him at the rear means his buffs are not in effect.

     

    What about Upgrades.... seems there is quite a lot of competition...

     

    And Morty... not sure how to use him yet. I guess giving him Corpse Bloat and Shovel means he can be the corpse counter generator. Taking three wounds sounds risky though and healing only 1 per activation is dangerous..... or at least it seems that way.

  13. What about the Wave 2 stuff?

     

    Students of X would seem a good substitute for Punk Zombies if you summon which ever was most appropriate for your enemy.

     

    How many AP do you devote to summoning? Obviously dependent on corpse counters. Do you move Nicodem with his minions so that they benefit from his buffs.

     

    Luring him with a belle a good idea?

     

    Still not sure about Dead Doxies.....

     

    So what would be utility pieces?

  14. Maybe I am getting confused..

     

    Kaeris has an automatic tome with flaming halo. Hence she can automatically choose the Stoke the Flames or Engulf trigger?

     

    So this means if she chooses Stoke it automatically inflicts 2 Burning

     

    Similarly with Firestarter's Ignition. Gets an automatic tome, so again can automatically use the Stoke the Flames trigger, so basically this inflicts +2 burning.
