  1. .The rules on pg 43 specifically refer to declaring and not the order of resolution. Also, Onslaught does not grant a free action. Recall that there is a difference between the general attack action (1)Strike which is an action and the keyword Strike which is a duel that arises from a multitude of different sources. New duels can be inserted into the middle of existing duels, for example the duel from Pitiful happens during another duel. I do entirely agree with Q'iq'el that a new action would wait until after Squeel! resolved, however like I said above, Onslaught does not generate a new action just a new duel. Now if Onslaught granted additional AP that could only be used on a melee strike it would be another matter, but it does not, it simply creates a new duel.
  2. Actually, now that I look at both triggers more closely, I am more convinced that Onslaught would occur first due to the fact that it contains the immedately key word and Squeel! does not.
  3. The following situation occurred today and I just wanted to be sure that we played it correctly: I activated Lady Justice and cast Sword Style choosing to gain the Onslaught trigger. Lady Justice then charges Rafael LaCroix. She hits with a Mask in her total and declares Onslaught trigger. Rafael gets a Mask on his defense total and declares the Squeel! trigger. I ruled that because Lady Justice was the acting model that she would get to make her free Kelsey strike before the 4" Squeel! push takes place. Furthermore, on Lady Justice's free melee strike I hit again, once again with a Mask in the total and so I declare Onslaught again. Now, the free melee attack from this Onslaught would then resolve before the Squeel! push that is still waiting to resolve, correct? Like I said, I believe I ruled this correctly, but some confirmation would be much appreciated as the friend I was playing accepted the ruling but was not particularly pleased with it.
  4. There is literally no ambiguity in the rules manual regarding when a spell is cast. RM p. 53, "Casting Spells" Part 2, section "F" reads: "If the caster's final Duel total (the casting total) is equal to or greater than the CC, includes at least one of each suit in the TN, and the caster has met any additional requirements for the Spell, the caster has won the Duel and has successfully cast the Spell." (italics added) Additionally, this clearly resolves the question concerning if additional requirements, such as Levi suffering wounds, are used when a model resists the successfully cast spell because part 2, section "D" States that additional requirements "must be met in order for the Spell to be cast." Since the spell is cast prior to resist attempts, as shown above, additional requirements are also consumed prior to resist attempts.
  5. Welcome to the Guild, home of the finest fascist femme fatales in all of Malifaux.
  6. Webmonkey is right about Guild...at least if you want something along the lines of Dark Eldar. I've played both Dark elf and dark eldar armies and I can tell you Guild plays nothing like them. Neverborn is your best bet for something similar. They have excellent movement tricks in general but the models tend to be easy to kill. So just like dark eldar neverborn favor hit and run tactics but suffer heavily if you leave models in vulnerable positions. That being said, I have a blast with any faction even though I mostly play guild.
  7. Yeah, you'll notice that in the fluff they use such terms as "denizens" or "residents" of Malifaux. I'd like to think that's because they didn't think up a term as catchy as "Malifites."
  8. I primarily play Guild (Hoffman is the only Guild master/henchman I don't have) but I also dabble in the Frankenstinian necromantic arts (McMourning is my only ressur master).
  9. Hello and nice to meet all you forum-dwellers. I don't typically participate in forums, however my love for Malifaux, which I have been playing for about half a year, combined with the uncharacteristically pleasant tone of the posts on this board has compelled me to join the community.
