  1. Well, if I am the henchman running that tourney and someone tried to pull something so absurd and wouldn't back down - I'd kindly ask them to pack up their toy soldiers and go home.

Would do the exact same thing. Even in a tournament, its all for fun. If someone is making the event not fun, they can leave.

  2. Edited in bold to make a point;

I don't like needing to trust on my opponents being either reasonable or logical, I prefer that the rules make sense, rather then needing fiat from reasonable persons before playing something.

What are you going on about? My statement had nothing to do with an opponent. As the Levi player, you know this is a small oversight that will be fixed. If you are palying against a Levi player who is trying this asshatery, just find another person to play. Its just a game people. Don't get your jimmies rustled.

  3. Hmm. Did they took away the x-faction hiring too? No more riders for Levi? Seems to be a typo.

You're trolling right? The whole thing is a typo, lol. Levi has the same hiring rules he always had. They just clarified the totem hiring rules. This is really going too far with what we all know is just a typo.

  4. I still don't get this "kirai isn't a rezzer" talk. She discards the body and uses the spirit. It looks like most use what they think they "should" use. Try Kirai with some seishin, her totem, then build to strat and scheme. You may be surprised by how much of a rezzer she feels like.

I saw a thread in the neverborn section about taking sorrows with Lilith. Most posters nay sayed with theoryfaux. The player said he was having fun and success with it. Try different thing people. Just because a few loud voices discourage most of this game doesn't mean everyone has to.

  5. With nimble and the ability to move through walls you can create a kill zone. An area the target model can't afford to enter without reprisals. This can be very effective. You never need to even get to the target model for the Shikome to have a huge effect on the game, the that is often enough. Even better if you have ways of luring the model in, that increases the area denial a they can't even afford to get close as they risk bring led into the striking zone. In a game which is about strategies and schemes this can easily win you games.

I have seen Shikome being used very badly before now though. You can't just use them as a cruise missile. You have to use them cleverly. Using the that of them to keep a key model out of the game while you deal with the rest of their force. Attack at just the right time. If you can get it right you will take our your target and be able to grab objectives late in the game, while gaining board control early game.

but, the internet told me that board control is useless. That the only way to control a model is to kill it...

  6. Just read this OP now.

There's two things wrong with what you say:

    1) You only have a certain amount of time to make changes to models and fix them before people will decide that you're probably not going to do it at all. How long has book 2 been out for? Half of it still needs errata'ing.

    2) When you do errata things, you errata based on popular forum opinion and whining rather than testing things out yourself or actually understanding the dynamics of why something is broken. A good example of this is Cuddling Nephilim Heart because some players in the US cried after it. In the UK we considered that list a joke list, and it was. For further example, errata'ing Larva was not the most important thing to fix in Somer; his hand destruction ability was. Ideally you needed to do both. Removing Shikome's Prey-on-summon was not a good 'fix' for Kirai. She's a badly designed model with too much mobility. Etc.

    3) The power levels of models in Malifaux are at such a massive differential, that the game is hugely fundamentally broken. You should be able to see how and why this is without forum feedback. You should be able to fix this without the forums. The fact that youre looking at the forums to have to know what is fundamentally wrong with something like Nicodem or Ramos is quite worrying.

My favorite part about this post is the fact that you "love" this game. You said that in a not too long ago podcast interview. Sometimes I love to powergame. When I do, I play Warmachine. The game is made for that. The company encourages it. When I want to play an amazingly fun, flavorfull, and deep game, I play Malifaux.

So, maybe you should take a break from Mali and try something else for a bit. All gamers cycle games. You just may be at that point where you need a Mali-break. And again, dont take this post in a negative light. And realize, you dont know everything about this game. And even if you do, so what?

  7. Vs. rezzers, you stand the risk of not getting the counters yourself.

And against the cursed Guild, LadyJ in particular, but anyone that can include an Exorcist, they may get destroyed.

I think there are very good arguments for not killing your own dogs, though. They are great when bolstered and a lucky shot with triggered Rabies is money.

Were it not for my desire to have Avatar ready ASAP, I would seldom do it and if someone is NOT running the Avatar, I would say that McMourning is the only rezzer master that I would still regularly chop up dogs on turn 1 with.

I still dont get why anybody fears the Exorcist. I've faced it many times with rezzers and never had a problem with it. Wk3...

  8. Thing about forums is, don't take everything the masses say as cannon. Let your own games and local meta determine what is powerfull. This isn't Magic where netdecking is the norm if you want to compete. You can takes the winning Viks list to a game with the exact strats and schemes and against the same crew, and the game will turn out completely differently.

I usually agree with not killing your own models. But that does seem the most reliable way for rezzers to get counters. Then again, don't rely on counters. Make a few with nico first turn for protection, them move out. Go against the grain and take a few voltures. Those damn things kept my VS paralyzed for 3 turns the last game I played against Nico.

  9. I used that PP figure for a gunmage too: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?30357-Iron-Heel-Kaeris-Crew

If I hadn't already put a bunch of work into my Kaeris, I'd use CMON's Steampunk Tinkerbell: http://www.coolminiornot.com/shop/miniatures/limited-editions/steampunk-tinker-belle-limited-edition-350.html. She really would fit well with a bunch of miners and looks more like she has a connection with the M&SU.

Sadly, Steampunk Tinkerbell is sold out :(

  10. Now for something different :)

Lets post our sown aowsome rezzer moments. Im talking the plays and games that make people love/hate rezzers. Here is the first one that comes to mind:

35ss game against Sonnia. I was using McM and was able to scalpel sling into Sonnia. I hit her twice and got a Red Joker for damage on the second attack. She was out of stones and out of luck, lol. Then, Sam was just a wee bit too close. I gained fast and cast dissection on him. Cheated in a 12 and stoned it. Couldn't resist and got the sever off on him.

Gained Fast... a good man died...

  11. He's a ersenal friend of mine. Great guy. His buildings are awesome. He is constantly designing and refining his products. He has some very exciting things coming within the next few weeks.

All the terrain is built specigically for Malifaux. Tokens and gaming aids are coming soon too!
