Choose Breakthrough.  Either Vendetta or A Line in the Sand, depending on the enemy crew.
  7. You're doing better than me with the Gunsmith, I can never get 7ss worth out of one let alone a second.  They just don't seem to do enough damage to be worth hiring, weak damage 2 and no access to  :+fate on damage flips just seems to leave them achieving next to nothing for me.

Meh, I run four gunsmiths.  Love these guys.

They ignore hard to kill, and the don't turn into mature nephilims.  It might be a meta-problem you're having.

  9. Beyond suggesting a list with good anti-resser choices (ie. Condition removal & debuffs of your own), there's not much else we could suggest without knowing the mission and what McMourning is up to in that game.

With a crew like Lynch's, hunting down Masters on the flank isn't really an easy task, but if he tackles your crew head on (eg. in reckoning or Turf War) you've got a real chance of taking him down. After all, a traditional Lynch crew is very good at just annihilating what's in front of them.

Thinking more about Lynch specifically, taking a few Depleted might offer you some measure of activation control and could make tempting targets for McMourning's Flesh Construct engine. Combined with Lure from the Beckoners you could pull McMourning out of position and into the waiting arms of your Hungry Hippo or Lynch himself.

EDIT: As for what to do when killing McMourning isn't an option, I'd be curious to hear a situation when that isn't the case. Unless, that is, he's out on a flank or not in the way of you achieving your objectives. In which case I don't see why you can't ignore him altogether and concentrate on VPs?

If McMourning runs off, then the Flesh Construct-thing shouldn't be a problem.  Otherwise, getting rid of McMourning is usually the easiest solution.  He only has Hard to Wound and Damage Prevention to save him, and Expunge has a relatively short range.

I would wager that target priority may be your biggest problem.  Transfusion is cute, but other than that, Sebastian has little to offer.  Attacking Flesh Constructs is a waste of time.  They are slow and take too many resources to bring down.  If you can kill a Flesh Construct in a turn, then you can certainly kill McMourning.  Nurses are also short-ranged, and a single model with condition removal halts any offensive they can provide.

Ten Thunders have some of the most reliable range-options available.  The faction is also cursed with the "play-in-theme-virus."  There are no rules saying Lynch has to play exclusively with Brilliance/Darkened models, and in truth, I had more success when I only took Lynch/Hungering Darkness and no other Brilliance/Darkened models.  I would suggest exploring these options.

  10.

You could use Heed my voice to push McMourning and Sebastian out of range of the Plastic Surgery upgrade so no Fleshie off the back of an expunge, and walk the primed poison bomb away before he can be transfused onto someone. Of course the real trick is to take out Seb and/or McMourning ASAP. As both models want to be quite close to their targets to get the most from their abilities it shouldn't be too difficult for an illuminated and beckoner combo to kill off Sebastian fairly easily. Don't be afraid to 'waste an activation' murdering the Zombie Chihuahua either, it's very easily done and removes a considerable poison threat. McMourning is a tougher cookie thanks to hard to wound, a giant wounds score and a melee heal, but it's definitely doable, especially if you can get Brilliance on him.

Or you could use Heed My Voice on a Flesh Construct, and then Devour Sebastian.

  11. Malifaux League

    Time: July 30, 2014 – August 26, 2014 (4 Week League)

    Game Night: Wednesday

    Location: Montag's Games

Address: 9430 Broadway St., Pearland, TX, 77584

    Phone: 281.412.4100

    Entry Fee: $5

Players wishing to participate must sign-up and pay the entry fee to the register at Montag's Games (see above). Registration will begin July 23, 2014. Upon registration, players must select one Master and one Henchman that they will be using throughout the entirety of the league. The Master and Henchman must be of the same Faction. Dual-Faction choices must also register which Faction the player will be hiring from. The TO must approve all registered Masters and Henchmen.

Game sizes will depend on the particular league week, starting at 20ss and ending with 50ss.  There will also be a small painting contest for those that participate.

The full ruleset will be posted next week.  Prize support will depend upon participation.

  12. Question: Can you target an enemy scheme marker with Colette's "Now you see me..." trigger and the Performer's "Seduction" action.

We were of the conclusion that both abilities could target enemy scheme markers since neither ability specifically says friendly scheme marker (see Colette's "Disappearing Act").  I just want to know if this is how others are playing it.

  13. Maybe it was just the perfect situation when I had success with her:  Recon + Protect Territory + Breakthrough (I think; it's been a while...)

    This is what I took:

    Zoraida -- 7 Pool
     +Animal Shape
     +Hex Bag
     +Tarot Reading

    8x Gupps
    Spawn Mother
     +Fears Given Form

Maybe I went a bit crazy on this one, but dislodging Silent/Perfect Camouflage models is rough at the best of times.
