  1. The ressurectionists were one of the two factions that did not include a broken over powered master capable of killing a significant portion of your team in your deployment zone on turn 1.

Until Yan Lo was introduced. He gets to your deployment zone on turn 1 and then uses hunpo assault and kills everything within 2 inches of him.

Getting to your face on turn 1 was fine when mcmorning did it because he killed your master..... maybe. He didn't kill your whole squad.

What you're describing would take 21 soul stones worth of models, at least 4 activations and wold require the enemy play to keep their crew bunched up in their deployment zone for said activation. After which Yan Lo would be completely murdered because he has no defense due to placing all his chi in path of bone.

I just can't see that ever happening in any kind of serious game.

  2. Ramos really needs the mobile toolkit to reliably use a good portion of his mechanic, so get that.

Large steampunk arachnids are fantastic models for 5ss and since they are on a 50mm base they drop three scrap counters when they die.

You only need one electrical creation because they are unique.

The mechanical rider is a great objective grabber and will add some needed speed to what is generally considered a very slow crew.

The rail golem is a fantastic beat stick and can seriously hurt the enemy crew when it goes down.

Kaeris, Willie, and the gunsmiths all add range damage, again something a Ramos crew is lacking.

Johan makes a great bodyguard for Ramos, but so do the new metal gaimin.

Don't be afraid to us Ramos' (2) action to get yourself a scrap counter if you need it.

Good luck and welcome to the game.

  3. The above is a great explination on the casting action. Two of Ramos' spells require a double tome to get off. This is why most Ramos player will run with a mobile tool kit as a totem. The mobile toolkit has an action that gives a unit a second tome to its cast. This lets Ramos get off most of his spells with little to no trouble. It also means to be will get the surge trigger with each cast. This can let you cycle out lower cards in your hand.

I would recommend checking out Pull My Finger for some great details on running Ramos, or any of the other masters.

  4. Not really. Try to set a table that's balanced. Which side you play on is picked by the winner of a card flip, so keep that in mind.

As far as the kind of terrain you want to use, mixture of the type mentioned above is good. Malifaux tends to be pretty terrain heavy compared to some othe miniatures games. More terrain is generally better.

  5. Depends on the strategy you're running. If you have to be mobile I'd recommend running ARamos and the Mech Rider, Union Minners can be fun here too. If you've got something like Holdout or Supply Wagon, a gunsmith or 2 wouldn't hurt, Lazerus(an Outcast mercanary) would be useful if you know you're up aganst a guild crew. Willie can be a ton of fun to take here as well. If you need to be very Killy ARamos, Kaeris, and the Rail Golem are great pieces to take. I'm a sucker for taking the Steamborg Executioner here as well, but the Rail Golem really does a better job, especially if your running Kaeris.

  6. Okay for a basic setup I'd go with the following.

    Kearis Box

    Alt Ramos blister

    Large Steampunk Arachnid x2

Steampunk Arachnid blister x2(more if you don't magnetize, or just one if you get ARamos)

    Mobile Toolkit

    Student of conflict

This will get you a good starting point to work with.

    Things to add on.

    ARamos w/ SPA blister

    Mechanical Rider

    Rail Golem

    Willie

    Mae Fang Box

    Union Minners blister

I hope this helps a bit.

  7. I really like large steampunk arachnids as a lower cost significant model. They've got armor, melee expert, a brutal trigger, a long charge range, and drop 3 scrap counters when they die. The only down side is you can only take 2 of them. Rotten belles are great as well. They let you move the enemy or Levi to where you need them to be.

  8. Very well. Both kaeris and Ramos love their constructs. Kaeris and her crew can provide some much needed range to a typical Ramos crew. Ramos, when not using an avatar, really doesn't use much in the way of soul stones. This makes them a available for Kaeris to burn enemies down. Blowing up SPAs you've created is a good way to get burning counters on enemies. It leaves a scrape counter so Ramos can just make another one.

  9. Ramos is not fast at all. He has one real ranged option in Electrical fire. Kaeris can be quick, but she needs the Student of Conflict to really be mobile. Rusty can be a ranged beast, but she is slow.

If you're going to run Ramos, I strongly recommend picking up the Avatar. Also I didn't see the Electrical Creation on your list. Ramos needs that model.

Strategy wise you've got killing power but lack mobile units. Look into the Mech Rider for speed, and again I can't recommend Ramos' Avatar enough.
