Curry sounds good, I know a few good places
-
I will still be cancelling, I shall be there on Saturday still to play some games and as David said, try some GenCon encounters.
I can only apologise about the non-refundable hotels, as I know how much of a pain it is :-/
-
I have 5 and 2 maybes, sadly the maybes can only confirm on the day, I will have things planned for the Saturday and you guys will have your tournament fees refunded.
-
I'll be there Saturday, we could put a couple of boards together and have a huge fight and also maybe an arena of death, we all put a master on the board and unleash hell.
-
I'm going to have to cancel, another cancellation takes us to silly low numbers.
Andrew Brown
David Brown
Gavin Holley
Martin Wodehouse
Luke Cocksedge
I will ensure your entry fees will be refunded
-
I'm going ahead with it regardless of numbers now, the latest cancellation is due to an operation date.
Looks like 1 (maybe 3 locals), 1 Milton Keynes, 4 Wales now! So between 6 and 8.

Prizes are;
Last - Wooden Spoon
1st - Retro Deck
Markers - Santana (if she arrives in time, if not I'll post it to Marker winner)
-
As long as numbers stay the same it will go ahead.
Drop outs have been work, time, money etc
-
If it stays at 8 (mike could be cancelling) then it will still be going ahead
-
There is a HIGH chance this could be cancelled by the end of the week due to cancellations
-
I thought about putting her up for first place but thought it would make people really work on their markers
That and I want everyone to be able to compete for her and some people will not be playing top tier/played long enough to really challenge
-
So what would people like as prizes, that way I can get the LGS to order?
Was thinking;
1st -Retro Deck
Best Markers - Santana
Best Painted - ?
Wooden Spoon - Wooden Spoon in Malifools Pink

Awesome, those of you on my twitter feed (if you're not follow me @richards2507), will know I am now recruiting for the non-playing committee for selection of the captains and the teams, this was originally going to be individual committees for each nation, but as this would restrict alot of gaming communities that would want to play I have decided on a single committee comprising of all nations.
Spread the word around your clubs for people who would like to take part but just don't want to be in the competitive side of things.
-
Awesome thanks Martin, you are now on the list.
-
That's the list updated, I'll soon start to bug everyone for payment (if paying in advance).
Hope none of you will mind too much being on screen (the joey berry aka joeyfaux will be there playing)
-
OK guys, speaking to UkRocky and I am going to use the committe system for picking the captains and then the captain and committee will pick the team.
Here is a basic run down of how the committee will work/be populated;
I'll use northern england as an example
- Every club who is hoping to enter members (So, for example, York, Harrogate, Manchester and...Cumbria)
- Puts forward one non playing member as a committee member
- So Harrogate might put forward Adam Reeve (Iron Skies) and so on.
- People then apply to the committee to be a captain.
- The committee then chat, and decide who's captain
- People then apply for team positions
(Saying a bit aobut why they want to be on the team etc) - And the captain says to the committee "I think we should have X Y Z because..."
- The committee then raise any issues until they have a team.
- It means all clubs are fairly represented.
- And it doesn't just become a 'mates club'
I feel that this will make it fairer and give everyone an even chance of being captain and in the team.
- Every club who is hoping to enter members (So, for example, York, Harrogate, Manchester and...Cumbria)
-
Heh. I'm glad I'm speaking to you tonite Rich for a couple of reasons!
Is that so?
-
So after some deliberation with CunningStunt..I have a plan.
1) The North/South divide for team England will be along the Derby, Burton & Mansfield line...this give the South some more competitive players without taking too much from the North +you guys have Yorkshire and Manchester)
2) I shall give the areas until the GT to pick a captain, BUT!! if you haven't picked I will pick the captains from the highest placed persons from the GT.
3) It will be down to team captains to pick their team.
That is all for now.
-
That would be most awesome if you boys could get down
-
I like the idea of splitting it, it would ease selection for England.
@cunning stunt: I guess you would be eligible for southern England as that is your residence location.
Would the divide be Birmingham?
Hopefully get dates confirmed with fees etc by end of the week and then start working on selection/rules pack
-
I like your style Dom, that should be how they are all settled but I know someone will grumble
-
Right guys.
This is how it stands so far.
5 teams of 6 (each faction has to be used once)
I am going to speak to NWGC today about hosting the first tournament, so should have an idea of dates and rates today I am hoping for the beginning of February.
Haven't decided on size of games yet or rounds.
I will speak to some of the guys tonight ref team selection.
-
Bump,
So after this has been quiet for a while, time to start pushing again (the joys of real life taking over)
-
