Another update from the escalation league I'm in:
Game 3 (8-5 win vs Rasputina) - 40SS
.....
<SNIP AWESOME INFO>
Thanks for the report, Mut! I appreciate you writing this seeing as how she is the master I am using getting back into the game for M3E. After my first game with her and seeing how all of the Woe synergies clicked...... yeah. She is a fun puzzle!

Candy can face-tank quite well with stones to back her up!
-
Maybe it will include 3 waldgheists instead. It would be fitting with the box to have 1 big tree and 3 smaller ones.

I encounter the same problem...Is there any news about us Windows Phone Users?
NEWS: Your app eco-system is abysmall? :-D
It could be worse. You could have a blackberry ;-)

If I take any upgrade with Barbaros it is usually obsidian talons (if the majority of the crew is nephilim) or fears given form. Although running him nekkid is perfectly good too.

@Eclipse Care to give an example list to see what you mean? I am interested!

How many tots, young and mature would one need to bring when playing a 'grow' list? How many of those are usually grown in a game? Seems like a lot of models that might be needed?
When playing with a list that I try to 'go for it' I have found that just 1 mature and the 2 youngs from the box seem to be fine. If you happen to grow 2 matures....... just enjoy the game even if it is with a proxy. It likely won't happen again :-D

I know that the primordial magic is the default totem for a few of our masters, but I have been having a lot of fun with the Poltergeist as of late. In the last 3 games I played with him he ends up dying, but he is a nuisance.
I also try to do a lot more 'heavy control' combing iggy + candy + pandy for a lot of order-of-activation control and then use that to force things like paralysis. I add in a few sorrows too.
It is probably not the most ideal, but it has been fun to play and in theme is always a bonus in my book (I DO play out of theme all the time, but there is something really fun about playing with the models who are 'buddies' ;-))

(as an aside, great to get clarity on the whole Black Blood Shaman thing)
Clarity? Yes. Result? No :-P
Alas, I can live with it. Just was kind of neat if it went the other way.

edit - shipping to the UK comes up as just over $3 which is pretty reasonable though it says 3-7 weeks!
$14 to DE!!!! wtf?

Changelings seem like a neat thing to summon. But the cards required to make them work are a big drain. Doppelganger still reigns supreme. The versatility she can provide that Changelings can't is insane.
For 3 more stones, I would hope the Doppelganger is better than a Changeling ;-)

I played this a number of times (at 35) with good grow success (even won a tournament with it ;-)... not any 'big boy' meta though):
Lilith (5 cache)
* Beckon Malifaux
* Rapid Growth
Barbaros
* Obsidian Talons
Cherub
Young Nephilim
3 x Terror TotsI didn't go for the big sword and didn't play for the grow. That said, I took the opportunities when I could. I also found using obsidian talons so that the tots could even kill something from time to time was quite helpful. On the tournament day I grew on average a young per game.
But the reason I really won with the list is I played cagey and defensively. Not because the grow mechanic helped (although it did contribute).
It is fun to play and I have in mind what I would play at 50SS too, but this is just one of the many colors of Lilith that is fun to play :-D

If he was rocking Cassandra, Mech Rider, and Howard, I don't know how he could cry. It is not like he was taking poo models to play with either. It sounds like it didn't crush his game at all. Some people just get sour for you giving them a challenge. I say, bring it baby! :-D

Pandora is great and getting a Teddy is cool too, but I don't see any merit in buying another box of sorrows. 3 is enough unless you are doing something odd and I would recommend against being 'clever' when starting out :-D
What I would recommend most is getting both the Pandora box and either the Lilith one or the Lynch one too. You can still concentrate on Pandora, but the models in the other 2 boxes contain some staple minions you are likely to play often enough (tots being GREAT runners and the illuminated being solid-hard-to-kill beaters).
After that, you can kind of go in any direction you want. Collodi and Dreamer both require a lot of different models outside of their box sets and if you want them all in plastic you might be out of luck at the moment.
Zoraida is very cool, but I think some other faction minions help you "unlock" her more and that means diversifying a lot when starting out. More or less the same with Lucius too. Although Zoraida has some great mega-useful models in her box to in her Silirids and Bad Juju is no joke either.
So, I think the Pandi, Lilith and Lynch boxes are the best way to start out in neverborn (even if Lynch is 10T too ;-))

currently I am running Lucius without a totem. Scribe doesnt inspire me, and the primoridal magic.....yes its generally good, but he doesnt need the scheme marker as he'll get so many for free - and i'd rather keep a couple of "real" stones in the cache instead.
mind you, my Lucius build is using several shifting loyalties models and may be a bit different to many.
Any chance to give us more of a peak of what you are doing or are you teasing us again.........

Just try and keep an ace, 2 or BJ for Huggy. Don't use it for anyone except him.
Once you get the ball rolling on him and he has regen or armor, or anything else, he will likely wind up being a MONSTER. A MONSTER!!!! <horror-scream/>

I know that rapid growth is a trap..... but for 1 SS..... as long as it isn't my main goal, it is more of a fun bonus than anything.
Wasting a stone? Maybe. Fun? INDEED :-D

I found the most interesting comment was to play her like she doesn't have the sword at all. I found my best games with her were when I didn't have to attack with her once and let the crew do its things with what she sets up.
That said, wrecking face with her can be satisfying too ;-)

sooooo..... enquiring minds want to know this filth.....

Maybe candy WOULD be a good addition because she could always heal up said depleted to give out more stones. Not to mention..... she is Candy. Deal :-D
-
4 times - 2 times reduces them to 2 wounds, then 3rd time hard to kill, and 4th time kills them.
Aaah. Ok, but that is it, right? Not that it is crappy (puts them immediately on my build list ), but just curious
-
Only thing I might suggest is dropping one of the Riflemen for a Depleted. You can farm the Depleted for stones all game long (eight wounds and htk make it pay for itself with Devil's Deal) or you can use it as a cheap roadblock piece.
Am I missing something? I see I could 3 times get a soulstone for free from them more or less by shunting 3 damage to them, but how are you farming them all game without killing them?
I get that illuminated heal a min of 3 per turn so hitting them is ok, but I don't get where you are farming stones from them all game. Or is it just 3 times?
-
Another thing to consider is the clear plastic versions of various crews (if they're still available, haven't checked) - for all tournament purposes, they count as fully painted out of the box according to Wyrd's official rules. If you're really strapped for time they might help!
I don't want to buy the same thing twice and shipping overseas is horrible ;-)
That said, I started a minimum build list of what I would want painted for a tournament and with some other friends doing something similar for their game systems, we are setting goals. Whether I can attain them is another thing, but hey, I am going to try! :-D
