Could you help me debugging the problem?
- What browser are you using?
- What version of that browser do you use? (Check Help->About...)
- What is the current file size (down in the right corner) of the sheet you try to open?

I stumbled onto this and it was exactly what I needed. You saved me a ton of time screwing around trying to make myself tokens until I find something fancy that I like.
It's a shame that Wyrd doesn't include some cardboard tokens with the models or have a starter kit or something that comes with enough tokens to get you playing.
I'm glad you like it. Please spread the word ;-)

Google Drive sent me an email about google drive web hosting shutting down, so I had to move the Malifaux Marker Generator to GitHub instead. I think I have updated all the links in this thread, but if you find a dead link, please let me know ;-)
The new link is https://birgerro.github.io/Malifaux_Marker_Generator/Malifaux_marker_generator.html

You can make your own tokens with the Malifaux Marker Generator ;-)

You could also try out Firefox for printing, which is what I always do. (And remember to remove the Header & Footer when using Firefox.)

Dont know about pixels, I can see it's a 21 KB picture but this same picture was sharp in an earlier version but blurry now. Tried with another picture as well. They were blurry in both 20 mm and 30 mm, and a different zoom. Very strange. Must be just my system then.
Could you check which versions make the picture sharp? You are using Internet Explorer, right?
- Version 1 (IE)
- Version 3 (IE)
- Version 4 (IE)
- Version 5.1 (IE)
- Version 6 (IE)
- Version 7 (IE)
- Version 9.1 (IE)
By the way, which version of Internet Explorer do you use? (Check "About Internet Explorer" on the menu). I'm using version 11.0.9600.18204.

Tip of the Day
The current version of Firefox (44.0.2) is placing the Header & Footer text on top of the (top row of the) markers. A bug report have been sent on this behavior, but until it's fixed you can use the following method to remove the Header & Footer:
- Select Print from the menu instead of pressing Ctrl+P
- Click on the "Page Setup..." button
- Go to the "Margins & Header/Footer" tab of the Page Setup Window
- Select "--blank--" on all the Header & Footer drop down boxes
Also, to ensure that the markers are printed the correct size, go to the "Format & Options" tab of the Page Setup Window, set Scale to 100% and check that the "Shrink to fit Page Width" option is NOT selected.

I'll try to look into that blurriness. How many pixels does the picture you are using have?
On 2/28/2016 at 9:16 PM, Erik1978 said:Same picture in a 20 mm, same size, you just see less of it, which makes sense. But what doesn't is it's blurryness. Any thoughts on how to get around that? I like the 20 mm size for conditions etc. but I had hoped for same sharp images as I had with 30 mm.
Actually, when I put in the same image as I made months ago, in a 30 mm again, less of the image is put in the marker but blurry. So the new version you have does something different to the images, blows them up a bit and loses focus because of it?
New edit: Just opened (an older one?) which works for explorer, that didn't work with custom colours but the images were sharp! Half way there.
Did you mean an older marker generator, or a saved .svg file? If, you are using Internet Explorer, is this version better Version 7 for IE ?
On 2/29/2016 at 6:02 PM, Erik1978 said:Any chance you know what number yellow has, in that explorer colour system for custom colours?
Do you mean numbers like this #bea940 (Outcasts) or this #d5742a (Ten Thunder)? I don't have Internet Explorer at home, so I would have to check it at work.
Edit: I couldn't recreate the blurriness on 20mm markers, neither with IE nor with Firefox. Maybe you could send me the actual picture you are using by PM or email?

I did a little digging with the Developer tools in Chrome, and found that the button icons (not texts) are different when using the dark theme on my Macbook than on Linux. On my Macbook, the button icons comes from this url
which are black/dark grey icons that are (almost?) invisible on the dark theme, while on my Linux box the button icons come from this (somewhat strange) url
and these icons are light grey, and work well with the dark theme.
So I guess the icons have been updated for the dark theme, but the high DPI version of the icons have been forgotten.

Ok, I've added v9 as the default version, and updated the text in the first post somewhat. I'm pretty happy with how this version turned out :-)

Ok, I've renamed the slightly earlier version as Malifaux Marker Generator v8, and continue working on the last feature for the next version.
Edit: I think I fixed the error you saw, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Could you try out the Malifaux Marker Generator v9 also?

Which browser are you using? And is this version better: A slightly earlier version?

New trial version: Malifaux Marker Generator v8.
This time I added the possibility to have different sized markers on the same sheet. The algorithm is quite basic, so for best results it's best to stick to similar sizes on each row. Also, I tweaked the colors a bit to get more similar to the faction colors on wyrd.com. Last, I fixed up the handling of zooming and positioning, so that an image with different zooming/positioning on a sheet is only included once in the .svg file.
Any comments before I make this version the default?

Yes, now the button texts are back for me. I guess someone at Wyrd fixed it already? I haven't checked on my tablet, so the problem might still be there?
Edit: On mac the button texts are still missing.

Thanks Docent!
Sorry I wasn't able to make the tweaks for you, I've been flat out on my own game, which is going into another big round of playtesting - starting tomorrow!
If you're at all interested in CARS with GUNS, check out: http://gaslands.com
No problem! Hope I didn't step on any toes when I modified your excellent cards :-}. It was interesting to try out that functionality in Acrobat.

I discovered the Layer function in Acrobat, and was able to make a quick(?) fix of the issues I mentioned in the last mail:
- I added Victory Point trackers to the Scheme and Strategy cards
- I added the correct Victory Points text on the Extraction Strategy card
- I split the Victory Points text on Interference into two paragraphs, and emphasized the word unengaged in italics
The result is naturally not as polished as crikeymiles original, but good enough for me (until a propper new version is available):
-
Really nice Scheme and Strategy Cards. Just a suggestion: Could you add Victory Points trackers to the cards (three for the Scheme Cards and four for the Strategy Cards)? Something like the wounds trackers on the stat cards. Sometimes I find it difficult to remember how many times I have scored Victory Points for each scheme and strategy, at least the ones that are scored each turn.
BTW: The Strategy card "Extraction" has wrong text in the Victory Points section. Also, could you split the Victory Points text on "Interference" in two paragraphs? And maybe even emphasize the word "unengaged" in italics to increase readability?

Here is a trial version with the option to set marker size. 20mm seemed a bit small, so I added 25mm as well.
Note that only one size is allowed on the sheet at a time. If anybody has an algorithm for placing/packing objects of various size that I can implement, please let me know ;-)

I'll see what needs to be changed to have a selectable size, with options for 20mm, 30mm, 40mm, 50mm.

I have added the size of the full sheet (in kB or MB) beneath the preview in the Marker Generator. The different browsers have different limits to how large files (actually data uris) they can open, and the full sheet will typically fail to open when the limit is exceeded.
These are the limits I have found for some different browsers and versions:
- Firefox (version 40.0.3): Froze above 10 MB, but quite sluggish above a MB or two.
- Chrome (version <45): Crashed above 2 MB.
- Chrome (version 45.0.2454.85 m): Crashed above 9 MB.
- Opera (version 31.0.1889.174): Crashed above 2 MB.
- Internet Explorer (version 11.0.20): Still worked ok above 10 MB (but zooming and positioning doesn't seem to work? I'll look into that).
If you find a different size limit for your favourite browser/version, please reply to this post or PM me, so I can update the list.
BTW: Remember that you only need a picture with around 300x300 pixels for the markers, which normally is less than 50 kB in size. So even with 35 different pictures the sheet size should be below 2 MB.
Edit: I fixed the zooming issue with Internet Explorer. Now it should work...

Sorry to hear about the error. That error message is nothing I have programmed in, so it's probably an error from your browser. Are you using Internet Explorer?
Due to limitations with data urls, there might be problems when using many large pictures on a single sheet. The same problems occurs when using a single large picture, and changing zoom and/or position for each marker. I'll try to formulate a better warning in the first post. Maybe I could add the option to link to the picture files instead of including the pictures in the svg file? Of course such an svg file would stop working if the files were moved, but I guess normal usage is printing the finished sheet immediately anyway.
Edit: Unfortunately, linking external images from svg images seems to be forbidden by most (all?) browsers. I tried to add this feature, but preview didn't work, and the full sheet had to be saved and reopened before the images was shown. :-(

There was a bug that has now been fixed. A few posts were lost during

Which browser are you using? Chrome is acting strange lately, but Firefox seems to do ok with printing.
Also, you could send me your images if you wish, and I could look more into the problems. I'll PM my email address.

I think I fixed the problem LordZombie talked about. It seems Chrome and Opera has changed to the "Internet Explorer" way of doing things, while Firefox now is the odd browser out. Use this link for Internet Explorer, Chrome and Opera:
