17 days later and I have a bunch of new minis to show off.

So far the challenge is still progressing along nicely. The remainder of the seventeen minis won't be posted because my camera died in mid shoot. I plan to have them up next update.

This is what I am proxying for the hungering darkness. I only had enough free money to order the book so I'm making due. I kinda like this model better. I feel that something that is always hungry should be a bit emaciated/

While the re-raising of models does sound more likely, I'm still hoping that he'll be able to summon skeletons. I don't care if they're bad I just wanna summon skeletons.

I think I'll play a few games with some. I already have the carrion effigy so I may use it for a bit. I'm thinking about having nix chew on the seishin for a bit to spew rats. Are there any models hireable that can give nix or :crows to his attacks?

I don't want to cheat several times if I don't have to.

Datsue-Ba is one of my favorite models so I may toss her in as well.

I was planning on taking between two to three Seishin just to be certain she wouldn't be severely weakened.

I was thinking about taking a rat (Due to Hamelin's ability that lets his master hire any height 1 model) but I have one concern. Non-spirit models hired by Kirai gain Rare 1.

Wouldn't that render Nix's severe damage trigger useless if I already have a rat on the field? The same thing would apply to the Alp's Never wake up ability.

Edit: I don't care much about winning this is just to be played as a fun list.

Most of the Kirai lists I've looked at describe taking five Seishins and a few of the usual spirits, canine remains, or desperate mercs. I was looking through the crew creator list and noticed she could take Nix and Hamelin.

I now want to make a list containing Hamelin and Nix. What else do you think I should take? I want to stay away from the 5 Seishin list if at all possible.

I figured I would wait until the seishin were finished and post a group shot instead of posting a seishin a day. They look kinda sub-par but I didn't try as hard as I should have because I didn't really like painting the models.

Here's my SPA. I decided due to my shaky hand I would leave the flesh black and brush some brown over it to resemble something that came from under a layer of dirt.

Okay so I lied. Sleep interfered with my mini time.

I looked at the bubbleheaded nurse artwork from silent hill and saw that their faces were more crater pocked and less bandaged so I tried to duplicate that. I think she looks a little strange having long hair and whatnot, but once painted up it may look fairly decent.

I liked the body of the other nurse better but her face was more cluttered so I had to go with the one that looks like a man.

Was this close to what you were picturing or do I have more work to do?

I happen to have two unpainted nurse models laying in my pile of to-do work. I'll give your idea a try and post the results later tonight.

I like the bubble headed nurse idea. How would you go about converting the nurse? Just applying greenstuff over the face and smoothing it out?

I made biscuits!

Bisquick mix, shredded cheese, melted butter, water, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Not bad for a quick snack.

After discussing with my fiance we have decided to make Malifaux themed cookies.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Heather thinks we should start off with raspy's head.

My fiance has asked to paint my Kirai and we've decided to do an crew in the scheme of Kuon.

The game already has Purple skinned, skinny creatures with distended stomachs called Gakis so I figured why not.

Perhaps the mulberry chest can be a evidence counter or something.

The standard "zombie" closely resembles the Onryo so not much needs to be done there.

Perhaps the Ikiryo could be the priestess's older sister. (The lady you see at 0:35)

I don't know what to do with Datsue-Ba however.

Here is the Nekima she is done working on. Her one wing just doesn't want to go into the slot properly and she's afraid she'll break it if she tries to force it. Any suggestions? We just have it held in place with a thin layer of glue.

Bringing this thread back from the brink again. My job ran out of work for my shift so I have more free time then I know what to do with this week. I've decided to get off my butt and start working on the ever growing mountain of minis.

But first, here is a piece of terrain I have been making since approximately two weeks ago.

I'll probably just end up going with the standard list of 5 Seishin, Lost love, and Datsue-ba.

As for the widow list I think I'll use Zoraida as a master and hire collodi and the widow. Unfortunately I don't think the dolls will be able to jump over to the widow because she doesn't have the puppet master ability. (unless i'm missing something again) The reason I'm using Zoraida as the master instead of collodi is because she can just summon more wicked dolls for a (2) action.

I'm using an old horror clix mini. It's named pyromaniac. The mini itself is a little boy holding a stuffed dog while there is a large wall of fire behind him.

Unless I'm mistaken the wording is: "During scraps any non-spirit model gains Rare 1 when hired by this crew."

If I remember correctly models can be hired out of faction for an additional soul stone added to the cost.

Or did my brain trail off and pull a stupid?

I'm constructing a 25 point Kirai list that can be tailored to different situations and here is what I have so far.

Kirai

Lost love

Seishin x5

Gaki x1

Weaver widow

The lone gaki is in there so I would have something else to attack with other than Kirai and the widow.

I know the widow is a bit of an odd choice but I like that fact that she can create more creatures and net me more cards. (And I just really like her for some reason)

I was looking to hire Collodi for larger games because the two of them work well together but I forgot about the rare 1 limitation Kirai creates. So that means no four mannequins for Collodi.

I figure that Datsue-Ba would probably be a better choice then the widow because she can create more spirits and leaves me with a few extra S.S. but I really want a way to deny my opponent the use of scrap and corpse counters as well as creating more minions.

So far I have been able to come up with one semi-decent combo for the widow.

1. Have the widow create a scrap counter.

2. Have the widow turn the scrap counter into a wicked doll.

3. Have the Lost love turn the widow into a spirit.

4. Have Kirai heal the now ghostly widow.

5. If hand permits have Kirai reactivate the widow.

6. Widow eats another two control cards to make another scrap counter.

7. Widow (hand permitting yet again) creates another doll.

Steps 5 - 7 are optional.

Side note: the weaver is a great way to eat up low/useless cards.

I understand that this is a very high card intensive list and it only leaves me with 3 soul stones so it probably wont be easy to play or have a high victory chance. Is there any way to make the wido work with Kirai or am I trying to go in too many directions at once?

On a side note: lets say that for whatever reason I turn a wicked doll into a spirit with Lost love. Would it drop a scrap counter and create a shishin when it dies? Or does the spirit granted by Lost love remove the construct type?

Hmmm... For a larger point game what about replacing the widow with a desolation engine? The Rare 1 really wont be a problem and it could spawn more creatures. If i'm reading desolate warping right, wouldn't the trigger create a SPA while kirai creates a seishin from the slain creature?

I was initially looking at Ashes and dust instead of the engine but at the moment i'm favoring the engine because when it dies it creates two more abominations that can spread and create more.

However Ashes and dust will always be able to pop the Desolate warping trigger.

Agh! Why must my brain keep pulling me in so many directions at once?

If it matters any, my favorite masters are Kirai, Collodi, and Levi. It's just something about creating minions out of an opponent's slain troops that makes me smile.

I was just looking through my tote of minis from magekinght, horror clix, and others and I found a mini called a Man in black that looked like a slenderman in a black hat. He even has a lack of a face. I think it was from horrorclix. I hope that is helpful.

Reaper minis carries dollies, aka model manequins. They have 3 didfferent styles to pick from.
