I originally started out wanting to monochrome paint this crew, but found that some of the models were ill suited for it, so I added purples and red and ended up with this.
-
My first crew since coming back Malifaux in the beginning of the year.

Apologies - haven't been able to answer PMs as I was waiting on someone.
Lucius, McCabe and a couple of other bits are gone. Plenty still left though!
I was asking about the wastrels....
-
I will have Ryle in a couple of days...part of a Lucius boxed set that I'm getting.
I am interested in the two wastrels...pm if you're intersted. Of course one Ryle does not equal two wastrels...so I will throw in some cash.

This week should see me get Lucius and a lot of models with which to populate his crew
As Joel wrote not every model Lucius takes need to be a minion. My thoughts on crew creation is along these lines - trying to keep it thematic:
Lucius
+ Surprisingly Loyal
+ Secret Assets
+ Watch My Back
Captain Dashel
2x Guild Riflemen
Mr. Graves
Mr. Tannen or a Beckoner
Doppleganger

Please show the modelsHi,
I've got a lucius crew for sale; luciud, ryle, female guild guard, guild lawyer and captain dashel. Two models are painted and based very nice.
I have a picture upon request.

I want to start a Lucius crew, but I cannot find the model anywhere!
So I'm looking for the following:
Lucius
Doppelganger
Lawyer
Guild Riflemen
I can pay via PayPal, but I also have 3 plastic Death Marshals (assembled and primed) which I can trade as well. PM me if you are willing to trade/sell.
I live in Denmark, so European would be preferable. But if you live elsewhere and have the above, throw me a PM anyway.

Have not seen some of these before:
Tinkerbell
Jack Daw
Ironsides
Molly
Lone Swordsman
Got the pictures from GMorts Chaotica's awesome site

Looks incredible! How did you achieve the toned down colours?
-
Cheers for the feedback guys!
In truth the claws and buttons have been highlighted with a very ligth grey and that does stand out, but the image does not really show that.
I thought about perhaps adding a purple color to a single item on each miniature, but I'm not sure.

I recently came across some very cool images of some monochrome painted Noir minis. I was blown away by how cool they looked and thought it would be an excellent idea for the Collodi crew I had just purchased. I thought they would look menacing and scary.
So after finishing the Marionettes and Collodi I sent an image to my friend to see what he thought about them. He was not impressed and basically agree with my daughter that it was the worst he had seen me paint.
My girlfriend - being supportive as ever - has said that I should paint them to my liking, but it has still got me thinking whether this is a good idea. So I thought I would ask on these forums.
So please be honest is this cool or a really bad idea.

What I don't like about Tara's upgrades is that two of them are autoincludes - if you don't take them you don't get Tara's best abilities. I have started to drop the Death Marshals and therefore the Dead of Winter upgrade, they are too expensive for what they do.

I like it! Makes me think of The Elephant Man and the likes. The Master could be the Ringmaster of the Cirque du Freaks! Which faction would you place this as? I can see it being Outcasts for sure but as a Duel Faction Master what do you think? Neverborn maybe?
Outcast or Neverborn or both

I would like to see a crew based around the Freak Shows of the day: Penguins, Beared Ladies, Freaks, Strongarm Man an so on. Master would be the leader of the Freak Shows.

Hands down - this is the best paint job I have seen on any of the plastic models.
Stunning work

Hrm, sad. I missed the chance to grab the Nightmare guys and I really like how Tara's model is. Hopefully they wont change too much. Other than the Nothing Beast, which I'm not 100% in love with.
I missed out as well, but posted on these forums if anyone was willing to sell. I got a full set for a high but reasonable price, so if you're willing to pay more than you eventually will have to pay for the regular edition you can get the crew.
I was not willing to wait until 2015 for the release and I have not regretted in a single moment.
On the Nothing Beast - he has proven a match-winner for me several times. He hits hard and has an incredible engagement reach - 50mm with 3" is actually quite a lot when you see the bubble on the table. Yes he is vulnerable early in the rounds, but you keep him buried or out of reach. He is highly mobile because of his Incorporal. An if he gets hit - bury him and use a Void Wretch to heal him.
In one of my games yesterday - against Kaeris, my opponent was not please when the NB (down to 2 wounds and with+3 Burning on him) was buried and a Void Wretch healed him and removed the Burning condition.
-
So yesterday I held a mini-tournament at my flat:
4 players
Tara (as Outcast)
Perdita
Ramos
Kaeris
40 ss
2 boards
Sewers
Docks
1st game - Turf War
Tara vs Kaeris - Tara winner
Ramos vs Perdita - Perdita winner
2nd game - Squatter's Rights
Tara vs Perdita - Tara winner
Ramos vs Kaeris - Kaeris winner
Karina conclusions
We played with fixed crews and I decided to a thematic crew; Tara's boxed set and a Convict Gunslinger. I was hoping that Karina would somehow prove me wrong. In both games every model did their bit in order to gain VPs, with the notable exception of Karina.
She is by far the most useless model I have fielded in any crew!
In game one she survived but did nothing except making a few shots with her Peacebringer - but she can't hit anything.
In game two she was killed in the first activation, when Nino flipped the Red Joker on a double negative flip.
With the activations I got with her, I just looked at her card, thinking to myself, so what the hell am I gonna do with you. In the end you end up just taking two walk actions or shooting with her Peacebringer. She does nothing and her synergy with the crew is almost non-existant.
I would have been better off getting two upgrade for my Convict Gunslinger and the Nothing Beast. I have a Malifaux Child in the mail and it will be nice to have a totem, which is usefull.
General notes from using Tara
This was the fourth game in a row where I played and won with Karina. I did not win because I flipped well or was lucky, but because Tara just clicks with me. Her incredible versatility is a winner in every game. She makes her crew so good and flexible, constantly putting her heavy hitters straigth into combat and then removing them. Placing scheme markers with the Void Wretches while the heavy hitters kill stuff.
I have also started to drop the Dead of Winter upgrade - I feel that the Death Marshals are to expensive and slow. Dropping that upgrade allows me to take Eternal Journey. Being able to drop back into your own deployment zone is just awesome - and is just so good for certain schemes.

I'm looking to get into Neverborn again - specifically Dreamer and Collodi.
Getting everything for that is a Nightmare is quite a lot - Daydreams, Alps, Coppelius, Stitched Together, Lelu, Lilitu, Teddy, Insidious Madness and Widow Weaver. So is it still a good idea to get the Bad Dreams boxed set or is it better to buy individual blisters?
Advice is much appreciated.
Do you know when it is out?

No idea about the release date but check these out:

One thing that I have found extremely useful is the following:
Turn 1
- Activate Tara, use (1) Pull the Void to bury your heavy hitter (Bishop is a solid choice), use the other two AP to move up closer to a target, and (0) Eternal Moment.
- Activate the rest of your crew
- Reactive Tara, use AP to move closer or to take shots at opponent. Your last AP you spend on Faces in the Void
- Activate Bishop, who charges the opponent and then flurries - that's 5 attacks, if the opponent is still standing then:
Turn 2
- Make sure you win initiative
- Activate Tara, use the (0) Eternal Moment, use (1) Pull the Void to bury Bishop again, one AP to shoot at the opponent Bishop was facing. With your last AP you use Faces in the Void, which will enable you to activate Bishop immediately after Tara. Again with Fast and Swift he can charge and then flurry. No one, incl. any master will be standing after 10 attacks from Bishop and a few more pot shots from Tara.
It's the fact that you can get two activations from your heavy-hitter before your oppenent can retaliate that is crippling. I took down Von Schill this way.

The Nothing Beast was MVP in my last two games. Being incorporal he enabled me to deliver a message to Kirai by just going through everything. In a board littered with buildings he is immense just going through the walls at will.
I will say that I normally start the game by having him buried by a Death Marshal, which helps. If I have a good control hand I will use my other beatstick (normally Bishop) but if my control hand sucks I dump it and launch the Nothing Beast with his DF 9, knowing that those high cards that eluded my control hand is gonna come out. Using Tara to launch a 4 AP Bishop into someone is awesome. I killed Von Schill with the first activation of round 2 as I chose to activate Tara, who buried Bishop, took a shot a Von Schill and then launched Bishop into Von schill again.
Tara is so versatile and that's why I love playing her, you don't need to have something buried all the time. Tara helps her crew and should consentrate on being the launch pad for beat sticks and objectives.

One of the most visually stunning crews on the gaming table. I really wanted to make sure that the individual models looked like they belong together so this is the painted scheme that I came up with. Teddy was such a pleasure to paint.
