  1. I may just have been playing it wrong, but does Nether Fluctuation always prevent any and all triggers from Ca, Ml and Sh action? I always played it as if only the printed suits were ignored.

If it's supposed to be as I read it, then this FAQ effectively made Nether Fluctuation work with the RJ and may want to be adressed in the next FAQ. If it's always supposed to prevent all suits from any source, then nevermind and I've been playing it wrong.

  2. Perfectly true, of course, but I can't help but feel that Von Schill brings almost nothing to the game other than his Friekorps synergy. By giving that up, you're just playing with a different kind of disadvantage (albeit a less severe one than using mostly Friekorps against Kirai). You could instead choose any other Outcast and get more value.

Well, you can also see it in such a way that apart from his HtK and Wp bubble, he doesn't necessarily bring anything even to his Freikorps friends. He's perfectly capable of doing stuff by himself after all.

  3. In reply to the counter thingie, it's not mandatory to pick a Freikorps crew if you have Von Schill as a leader. If you happen to know that the opponent is picking Kirai then, apart from the Librarian, Vanessa would be a solid choice to pick, as is Taelor and possibly the Nothing Beast.

  4. Got a picture? For me the censer arm fits with the single piece tube from the forearm to the bottom part of the upper arm, just above the elbow. The longer "Y-piece" tube for the book arm however seems to only fit when going from the forearm to the side of the very bottom part of the center of the backpack itself.

  5. 20%, plus an £8 royal mail fee. Its ridiculous.

Source: Loud, angry conversation with royal mail after being hit previously.

Allow me to comfort you with the Swedish £8.50 flat fee plus an additional 25% of the total amount of the product + shipping combined.

And that's a potential (not guaranteed thankfully) hit for any order from the US, no matter how small.

  6. Personally I wanted the new box not only for the Steamtrunk but mainly for new poses for the normal models. If I want to run more than 2 Freikorpsmann or 1 Librarian/Specialist/Trapper, I'll now have to use models with the exact same pose.

Instead of getting a new box with updated sculpts that I can use to complement my existing Freikorps with, I'm now "forced" to buy the very same box I already own with identical models just so I can get the new totem. That, in my mind, is a really bad design.

  7. Seeing what happened to Colette and how amazing the original art is, I consider it a big plus, but mileage may vary.

New art or not, I at least expected the Freikorpsmann and the Librarian to get new poses instead of their current static ones. I can understand it for such new models as Lenny, but all other new crewboxes has had their main minions tweaked a bit so that the old players could get a few new posed figures if they wanted to expand. This is the first complete copy/paste.

  8. Librarians can make short work of most incorporeal models with their furious casting, especially if they're clumped and you hit that blast trigger. Hannah can also be used there to steal their offensive spell.

Also, don't forget Nether Fluctuation that remove the opponent's built-in suits when within 4" of them. That has stopped a fair many nasty triggers for me.

Trappers should never be in combat, and have their (0) to simply push away and then doubletap into whomever is unfortunate enough to have gone so close to them (plus that they get to move up to 3+3" while doing so).

As for Von Schill being charged by opponents, it's something he can usually tank and next turn he can simply charge them back even when engaged and drop three or potentially four attacks on them, ignoring armour and potentially permanently dropping their Df and thus making each subsequent attack easier to hit with.

3/4/5 ignoring HtW at 12" is absolutely devastating against most ressers.

Specialist is one of my favourite support model. His attacks ignore cover and either deal one extra damage from burning or effectively deal out slow if the opponent wants to remove the burning. He can also burn away scheme markers and he's immensly effective against summoning masters since he automatically removes all scrap and corpse markers at the end of his activation.

The only drawback is that he tends to get swamped in combat. He'll usually hit with his Ml6, but you may want to have some other model nearby to relieve him.

Freikorpsmann can be quite decent as an objective runner if you can go after the engaged opponent. Discard a low tome, hopefully hit them once and trigger Duck & Weave and then try to disengage with your now Df7.
