What a great weekend! Fab opponents and awesome shinanigans! Really touched to get best army and I could have gone all the way if it weren't for those pesky Neverborn!!! I'll get you next year Dreamer!
Are there pictures of the best painted mini's?
-
For 7 SS the best minion is Tuco.
-
Howdy guys,
Just curious if there is gonna be some prize support also or if its more of a casual play/ all for fun thing. I'm thinking I might go down there and let Korrosion exact some revenge on me( as long as we don't go to turn 7 lol.)
Curse turn seven! :-)

http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?36014-Killjoy-amp-leveticus
1) Vikis are good but since book 2 & 3 came out not as good, Vanessa will bring them back up to something good. Not super competitive, but fun to play.2) Levi & Killjoy. They are not compatible. If you check out the crew creator killjoy is not in levis options.
3) aSomer: I haven't tried him yet, he's on my painting table, but free reckless looks nice
Almost forgot: Lenny is the only unique gremlin you are missing You might want him I got him but have not tried him yet Been on an arcanist kick for a while
I don't see lenny as a competitive option, perhaps I am mistaken. If he is better then how he reads (just like Drowned) please, by all means let me know and I'll try him. :Confused_Puppet:

Sorry, I thought I was missing something :-)

Right, but Vanessa has aetheric demands?
Well, this is strict theory-faux, but my main observation with the SoC is that he gets left behind immediately. I actually use him with the Gunslinger and give him fast... hunker down by some terrain, exert board control and shoot the heck out of stuff. But with Vanessa you have a second ranged attacker that might be able to benefit from the SoC. But more importantly, with Vanessa being able to count as a Sister in Spirit, you have a third point to bounce between with the Viks. Now, the likelihood of being able to be near the SoC increases a bunch, which will allow you to make use of the Fast.

I would start with the "complete" ophelia crew, I find its just solid.
- Ophelia Box
- Young
- Slop haulers
- Mctavish
- 4 Bayou or buy the Somer box if really intend on going all out outcast.
- When they come out Bert, Wong & gracie
For the full Somer I would hold off until you get a feel for the rest, it take too many models to get all the possible somer lists.
So I need to add a blister of Young, and McTavish to my list.
For Levi, you need to decide what type of list you want to tryOption A) Mix and matching models from different crews, hopping you get a desolation engine.
option All out SPA list, where you need Ashes & dust (which is really mean BTW)
Option 3) Avatar list, with horse men.
from the sounds of it you want option A & B, You will need a second blister of SPA, the the drowned & Hanged are not really needed. Bette Noir is always fun. As for Belles, Not needed but not a waste. Joel has it right were the Colidi box is legal, but it comes down to, do you want to play Levi or Collidi.
Yes, options 1 and 2. I am not a big fan of the avatar for Levi. Which reminds me, how competitive are the viks and somer's avatars?
For the mercs, First question, Do you like Taelor & Johan. If no I would just get the Vikis blister, otherwise the box. You already have just the Vonschills blister listed, so you don't want the box. The freikorps are not bad, but don't stand out either. I would add a couple Desp Mercs for cheap body count, and don't underestimate Hamelin the rat catcher. Brings a bit of magic into a a mostly beatstick army. Lastly Vikis don't necesarily need Ronin, the spell to bring back a Viki is really expensive and not worth it. I resently took my Mercs crew and cut it in half and am trading it away. I decided to keep the following- Vikis
- Vonshill
- 4x desp Merc
- Taelor
- Johan
- Hamelin
- McTavish
- Convicted Gunslinger (How could I forget him... must have)
- Killjoy (but mostly for my resser crew)
you might want Jack daw in that list, but I really hate him...
I've never played with taelor or Johan and only rarely against Taelor so I dont know if I like them. I like the idea of a few desperate mercs and HtRC is already on the way for my pandora crew. Killjoy could also go into a Levi crew right? So another dual purpose minion is always good to go.
Now back to Somer. To play properly you need about 12 Bayou gremlins, 4 Slop haulers, 4 Mosquitoes, a couple rats (yes, legal and are sacrificed to Mosquitoes which get healed),
Then you want to add depending on the list you want to make.
- Option 1 - Pigs: 1 maybe 2 war pigs, 2-3 pig whisperers, 1 -2 blisted of Piglettes
- Option 1a - Bacon bits: above + 1-2 taxidermists, 2 blisters of Stuffed Pigglets
- Option 2 - Pigapult: 1 Pigapult, add option 1A
Like I said the Somer list needs losts of models.
The Somer box comes with a Warpig right? So I'd need to add a blister of piglettes, taxidermists, and 2 stuffed pigglets to the list.
That changes my shopping list by
+Young
+McTavish
+Pigglettes
+taxidermists
+2 stuffed pigglets
-vik box
+Vik blister(s)
+desperate merc(s)
+Killjoy
I think I'm going to make some commission painter very happy. Can anyone make a recommendation for a painter in the US?

Without Sue listed as someone you want with the Viks, then the Convict Gunslinger is a no-brainer choice, as stated above.I might also add the Student of Conflict for the Viks. I think with Vanessa's release the SoC will become much more useful.
Sue! Yes, Johnny Cash will see the table and the SoC should be added to the list. How/why do you think Vanessa will make the SoC more useful?

Collodi boxed set for use with Levi
Strong arm suit when it's released

I forgot to mention I already have the Collodi box, Lazarus, and a gunslinger. Thanks for reminding me on the strongarm suit and Bete Noir.

So I'm going to be starting and playing outcasts for 2013. I want to be able to declare outcasts as my faction and have several masters to choose from. Specifically Levi, viks, and gremlins. To that end I'm trying to come up with a shopping list. Here's what I have so far:
Levi box
Waif blister
Canine remains blister
Drowned blister
Hanged blister
DE blister
A&d
Dead rider
Belles
Viks box
Von "mustache" Schill
Librarian
Ronin blister
Vanessa
Somer box
Ophellia box
Bayou blister
4x skeeters
Slop hauler
Whisperer
Bert
Gracie
Wong
Pig a pult
I know that's a lot of stuff but am I missing something major?
-sent from my iPhone, please pardon errors.

Yes, I'm interested. Pm sent.
Hi everyone,I won a complete sprue of the new plastic Puppet Wars promo figures at my local game store.
The sprue includes the following 8 figures: Lady Justice, Seamus, Pokey Viktoria, Judge, Bête Noire, Hooded Rider, Misaki, and Rusty Alyce.
Please note that this is a promotional sprue -- cards and bases were not included.
I am interested in trading the sprue for a copy of the Malifalux mini rulebook.
Please let me know if you are interested.
Thank you,
Steve

Ten Thunders Crew - 35 - ScrapMisaki, Mistress of the Ten Thunders--7 Pool
- Kang[8ss]
- Ototo[8ss]
- Taelor[8ss]
- Toshiro, the Damiyo[8ss]
Seems fun for shared slaughter? Competitive no, but fun, yes!

Book 1.5 is only needed for you (as you have rules manual) if you want fluff. All the rules are in Manual and all cards are free pdf downloads.
Not to nitpick but only those cards that were updated are available in the version 2 pdf's. Some models were not updated, the poltergiest for example.*
*It was not updated last time checked, YMMV.

Transposition has a Wp resist, so teddy can't be moved with it as he is immune to influence. This can be got around by including baby kade in the crew. Kade can be bumped about and has his own ability to shift teddy.
Forgot about that on Teddy. Guess thats what I deserve for PWD.
-
Things other then Nephilim can also work. Coppelius is a great model as are stitched. Teddy is kinda slow moving but if you transposition him into place then he can tear something apart. Take some time and check out the PullMyFinger wiki on lilith and the neverborn minions.

Curiouser and curiouser...

for this. If I had thought of it first I would have said it.

As in spaceballs?
Yes!

I look forward to reading about your thoughts.
On another note, I find it interesting when people make comments like "I haven't lost with him yet". I have no problems losing, especially since I have been swapping out models in my crew as I figure out what works best and what doesn't work. I tend to side on the "learn as much or more from losing than winning" side of the field I think. That would make a good Podcast topic, I need to jot that down.
*grin*
I would second this as a podcast topic. I go into most games wishing for the game to be close fought and come down to a few key flips on turn 6. The better my opponent is the more I can learn from what they do. “Cherish your enemies. They teach you the best lessons.”

One reactivate per model as I recall.
This is true.
-
So its square corner deployment with the good guys (neverborn) having Treasure hunt, starting in the upper right and the bad guys (Outcasts) having turf war, starting in the lower left. Treasure is next to the tree in the middle, slightly to the left.
Here is the model list I have to work with:
Lilith box
Zoriada
Collodi box
Voodoo doll
2 x Stitched
twins
Tuco
Teddy
Coppelius
Primordial
2 x Young
What you take for Treasure Hunt going against turf war?
I ended up with Zoriada, Twins, Tuco and Coppelius. 5ss cache. I knew getting the treasure back to my deployment zone and defending it there would be a lost battle allowing him to dictate the terms of the engagement in my deployment zone. So I took a few heavy hitters to push the fight into the middle planning to just pick up the treasure and hold it in his half of the board to fight against his turf war. I figured Z can summon significant wicked dolls to add to my numbers. Twins can lure stuff towards his half and then eat them. Outcasts are generally living so terrifying from Coppelius along with his paralyze is generally good. Tuco can deploy on his half and shoot his crew in the back from the start. Can anyone please help me learn and poke some holes in my logic?
Now you know you're facing off against Hamlin, a terror tot, 2 night terrors, wretch, 3ish rats, a stolen or 2 and 6 or 7 cache. We both discussed taking the schemes that would be auto achieves (kidnap/bodyguard for me, gather ss and bodyguard for him) and decided that would be a boring game so we didn't do that. With that in mind; what scheme's would you take with the crew you picked? Why?
Here is what I picked and my thoughts for them:
Breakthrough and stake a claim, both announced. Breakthrough because he would have to divert significant models away from his strat. Stake a claim on the terrain piece in his deployment zone because if I'm going to be there for breakthrough I might as well claim it.
Again if anyone has any thoughts or advice to offer please, by all means let me know what I could have done different/better.
-
I try to take difficult to do schemes, such as Zoriada's personal one. I also let the other player choose the strat if they wish to, both mine and theirs. Then I pick a decently tough/quick crew and try to win while at those disadvantages.

Can it not just dispel the conduit effect entirely?
Conduit sits on the voodoo doll(http://www.malifaux.com/FAQ.php under "Can you clarify what an effect is?"). So the Witchling Stalker could not dispel it.
